During a recent Friends Game Night, we all decided Chinese food would be perfect and so to Hong Kong Chinese we went. My friends are new to the area, so this was all of our first time trying Hong Kong, and from the taste of it all, surely won't be our last. We called in and placed our order for pick-up, which was quoted to take about 15 - 20 minutes. Ended up being closer to 30, but no big deal. Food was still hot, order was correct and all was well. We got a wide variety of items from House Fried Rice, General Tso's Chicken, Garlic Chicken, Short Ribs, Dumplings, Crab Rangoons and Egg Rolls. No major complaints with any dish, however my buddy was slightly disappointed in the meat to bone ratio on the ribs, and the house fried rice, while packed with goods, was a tad bland. All the above ran us close to $75. Overall, Hong Kong hit the spot and was a solid option for us all. I do very much wanted to love this as being from Boston I just can't find Chinese food like it in the South. When I saw the picture of the Spare Ribs with the bright red sauce - I had to try this as that's how they look back home. The food arrived luke warm. I ordered the PuPu platter- you can see the photo of the ribs it's like one rib cut into 3 pieces ! Never saw such tiny ribs. Albeit the sauce flavor was spot on- but there was only fat and bone - no meat ! The fried foods were all burnt and the teriyaki sticks were so tiny!! Dry and no flavor. The egg roll wasn't bad. The shrimp were burnt on the outside but battery on the inside !! The Rangoon was so burned you couldn't bite the wrapper it was like a rock! I ordered Pork Fried Rice - it was orange yellow color( like the cheese in Kraft Mac and Cheese!!-and not fried ! What I was really looking forward to was Chow Mien. Not many places have it on the menu. Now where I'm from Chow Mien is a protein and mixed vegetables in a clearish white gravy. What I received was lo mien noodles with vegetables- dry no gravy but the smell ( not a good one ) was overwhelming- I tasted it but couldn't get past the smell. I don't like to give bad reviews and low ratings - realizing how difficult times are but for $45 in food cost I had to so you won't waste your money. This place is good if you're starving. So the sauce for the dumplings was weird...something a little off about it. Mongolian beef was ok, a little soupy. A lot soupy. I placed an online order at 5:59pm and just as I was calling to find out where my food was at 7:20pm, the driver sped into our neighborhood (cul de sac with children on bikes), and literally ran to my door to deliver the food. I told the person who answered the phone to never mind, as the driver just arrived. The food was not hot, we ordered sweet-and-sour chicken, shrimp lo mein, pork with Chinese vegetables, two pork egg rolls, and teriyaki chicken. The noodles in the lo mein were overcooked, and there was no flavor whatsoever. The shrimp was overcooked and tasteless as well. My father got the Chinese vegetables with pork and he said there was no flavor with that either the teriyaki chicken was not that great. We were quite disappointed in the flavor and the time it took to be delivered. I don't think we'll order this again. Alright it's my turn. This place was pretty good. I got hot and sour soup and the chicken broccoli combination dinner with a spring roll. To start, the soup was very hot and packed with veggies which I loved, but was missing a little bit of sour and spice, still yummy for a rainy day though. Next, the chicken broccoli was also very hot and I'm not sure why but the rice was orange in color, most chinese places have started doing this and i'm not sure why but it still tastes decent, just not as fresh as it used to be. The chicken was great and the broccoli carrot combo in the sauce was also pretty good. One thing that did bug me though was that the brown sauce was really sweet, usually it's a more salty type of sauce but it was still good! The spring roll was crunchy but a little too oily for my taste, still tasty though! Overall it wasn't the worst chinese i've ever had and definitely affordable for the amount of food you get. One more thing- I got this food delivered to me from an over-the-phone order and it came in less than 45 mins which was pretty quick since they told me it would be about an hour. Tried this place few years ago while living near downtown Kennesaw. Price and service were okay, but food was very disappointing. The shrimp was not cleaned nor de-veined properly, rice was dry, veggies were overcooked, and all of it tasted "old" (not fresh - especially the shrimp, yuck). Although we now live much further away from their location, we were recently reminded of the sub-par experience because they have been sticking their menus in the flags on all of the mailboxes in our neighborhood. This is being done despite clear "No Soliciting" signs right on our mailbox. They are creating litter/trash up and down the street, especially if windy, rainy, etc. Plus, like another Yelper pointed out: this practice can cause safety issues by indicating that folks are not home, are on vacation, etc. Bottom line: If a place has been around for a while and is any good, they won't need to trespass onto private property to leave unwanted menus in an effort to drum up business. read more

Crab Rangoon is thick , very thick shells, the soup was like beige water and all the meat has to be pressed processed meat. I've never tasted anything so bad. Also the soup was eighty percent cut up baby corns. They can't even give you a whole tiny cob if it. Spring rolls were not anything like I've ever tasted before. Past orders have been well but I've usually done take out. This time I ordered delivery on Monday around 9:30pm. They close at 10:30pm. I know it's an hour till closing but it's like they didn't even try to cook anything fresh. Everything was so dried out especially the crab rangoon. It was discoloured like it had been sitting out for a few hours. Dried and brown filling seen through the top poking out. Basically inedible. The Gen tso was pretty dry too. Out of everything the hot and sour soup was my favorite! I placed my order through Uber eats and was able to select how spicy I wanted my soup which I thought was cool that I had the option (got the spiciest) The Mongolian chicken was good as well. Sweet and salty at the same time. My least favorite were the lo mein noodles. Not as flavorful and felt the noodles were perhaps overdone? Not sure if al dente is a thing in Chinese noodles but the texture on these were a little more mushy than I'd prefer. read more

What was supposed to be an order of pork fried rice with the dinner was a sticky mess and I actually dumped the rice onto a plate when I got home and counted 2 small cubes of pork!! The rice was gummy and not very appealing. The egg roll was on point, but the chicken was just large lumps of meat that were almost glued together. Not a meal I would ever order again.
