I know they have recently changed owners but the menu is the same. This is the go-to place when my brother comes in from Seattle and wants a buffet of good take away this is it. Today I got the Orange chicken lunch special which will also be my dinner later. It comes with an egg roll and an order of Chicken Nuggets. These are the family fav chicken nugget because it is a piece of chicken. Not the fast food chopped and formed who knows what's in it junk. I love their egg rolls too, sometimes just have one of those for lunch. Their homemade sweet and sour sauce is so good, I always buy and extra one. The staff is always nice and friendly. I typically call in my order and it is ready in 15-20 mins for pick up. The total for my order was just under $18. I also bring cash if possible there is a service fee for card payment. read more

I have been ordering from there for 9 years. I stopped about 2 years ago but because it is so convenient to where I live started a couple months ago. Originally the food was awesome then I didn't like it at all. They must have new owners because the food is once again really good. The luncheon orders are huge and freshly made. There is so much in each order that I always have a second days worth. The management is friendly and very accommodating. I actually ordered the wrong item but when I got there and told them they offered to switch it out and added on my account a note saying what I actually order. I am not certain how many new owners they have had but these are very nice. Give them another try you may be surprised. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE! Food was purchased by my son on 6/12/24 for lunch and he ate a few spoonfuls before leaving the restaurant and should have returned it then. However he bought it home and I ate some and discovered that it the rice was scorched. After I finished my work shift we took it back to advise of the situation. He started out by stating that he usually has a good experience but today the food was scorched. This ended up being a horrible customer service experience. No apology was made about the food. When she opened the container the first thing that was yelled was did you get this from here. Of course you didn't want to take ownership of the overcooked, gooey rice as the receipt was being shown. I could hear her yelling at my son all the way in the parking lot! I went in to see what was happening and she then began to yell and accuse us of lying. About some rice? I asked if he could have a credit for a purchase for another time because he had to eat something else. This was which was an adamant no. We were not requesting a refund but the way we were spoken to was absolutely unacceptable. Then another one of the workers/owners started yelling and her customer resolution was that we didn't have to come back. Then asked me what took so long to bring it back. After explaining that I had to finish working then the excuse was that he shouldn't have asked for extra pea pods. So instead of just saying I'm sorry for your experience this time and making it right in front of other customers, they threw together half of what was purchased and shoved the container angrily under the glass without a bag. I am tired of these people providing this type of service in our neighborhoods where they will not spend one dime in. If you can't take some feedback and correct a situation or apologize to customers then you should not come back into our neighborhood and take our hard earned money for your over priced food and horrible customer service skills. But, my orange chicken was prepared with fillers (breading formed like a nugget with NO chicken), my egg rolls were hard, and my shrimp fried rice /extra shrimp and green onion was cold. Got 6 pot stickers and the tiniest amount of sauce imaginable. Anyone with a brain knows you need sauce for potstickers. This is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention it spilled in the container because it was stuffed in with the potstickers and therefore I can't dip my potsticker into it cuz it's all over the bottom of the container. Shrimp with Lobster sauce was watery as hell. The Crab Rangoon is OK. And we have 3 containers of orange sauce. 3. 2 large 1 medium. NOT happy at all. I ordered a large Kung Pao shrimp fried rice from them and what I got was a plain fried rice with 3 shrimp laid on top. And to make it even worse it wasn't completely a fried rice, there was white rice inserted in the middle. Now, everything we order has been very good and I love all the additional menu items added. We love that they have authentic Chinese food added in with all the American Chinese food. Stopped in for some quick takeout while on the run. Counter staff was friendly. Food was ready within 15 minutes. That's end of the good parts. Chop sure not great, a lot of juice (broth), almost like soup in bottom of carton and they must know not since they wrapped in plastic bag. However my biggest issue is the $1 "service charge" for using a credit card. It is almost 2022 everyone uses credit cards, they are charging you a dollar to pay for your food. They have a whole sign explaining how they pay 2-3% in fees for credit card payments which is nothing new and is a cost of doing business. Your cost not mine. My meal was only $7 , so my $1 was a 14% up charge. You state your cost is 2-3% why did I pay 14%? In fact you need to spend $30 to make that dollar be 3%. They are ripping off every customer that pays with a credit card. I 100% will not return to a business that tries to convince you that ripping off their customers is good business for them. read more

Years ago when the shopping center was first built, Hong Kong was not just convenient - they were delicious! At least there's a decent place in Kendall County Plainfield to get Chinese - I've never had a problem with the service for pick up or delivery at this take-out only restaurant. That being said, I'm not going to exclaim that they're the best just because they're the only Chinese delivery in the area. What used to be delicious has, over the years, become just average. The egg rolls are greasy and tasteless; the main dishes, while hot, can be either far too soggy or the meat can be as hard as a rock. Nothing's really cooked properly anymore; it seems that, increasingly, everything is either royally undercooked or overcooked with no middle ground. I sure hope that they're still making everything fresh and not freezing / microwaving, or I will be thoroughly disappointed. It seems that the prices are a little steep here, too. Sure, you get your mountains of steamed white rice and hearty portions with every order, but is it worth the price (especially given the quality)? I've had much higher quality food and spent far less than I would here. Order from here if you're in the area, have a craving for Chinese, but aren't concerned at all about how the food arrives. We order from here at least twice a month on average and we've never been disappointed. They really pack the fried rice in those containers! My only complaint is that they staple the containers closed, and if you're not careful one of those staples may wind up in your mouth. Outside the risk of a punctured esophagus, the food is great! We have been ordering from HKC for many years. Their good is excellent snd they help by making adjustments to their menu if you have dietary restrictions. We get the general tso tofu...with broccoli and it's delicious. We also request veg hot and sour, which they are willing to make. Luckily we live 3 mins away. Some of the worst pot stickers. Too doughy, fell apart and oily as hell. I couldn't attempt to eat more than one. The lo mein was so greasy it made me nauseous and I only had a very small amount of it. The egg rolls were awful and tasted freezer burned and pasty on the inside. The fried rice, greasy as can be. No flavor at all. Just mush. The orange chicken wasn't very good at all!! How can you screw that up!? It was sickly sweet. I literally had two pieces of it. Omg awful awful awful! The beef with pepper was the only edible thing in the $40 bag of food. The steak was tough but at least it wasn't greasy and flavorless. The peppers really helped give some flavor. They definitely have a wide variety to try, and they are much better than some of the other Asian restaurants in the area. Their vegetable egg rolls were delicious! And their sweet and sour shrimp was good. The lucky 7 was good, but not too spicy. The beef was cooked just right. The shrimp fried was was good, but I felt like it needed more than just the rice and shrimp. I would get them again. The vegetable lo mein was not what I expected, but my daughter loved it, so that made it a winner. There were more noodles than vegetables. We will definitely be back here again. read more
