    Combo #2 Item Combo
    Grace N.

My colleagues and I were craving Chinese food, the bad ones where it tastes so good that it's so bad for you? The one you see in movies where people working late through the night and just get Chinese fast food and eat it out of those famous paper take-out orders? Well, we were in that mood and I Yelped for something different because we were sick with the ones close by to DTLB. I made an effort to drive from DTLB to this place, in Santa Fe actually.. I think this is near Santa Fe Sandwiches area... The staff were super nice and so friendly. And they take cash only! AND, I didn't have ANY cash!!! Geesh.. but lucky for me they had a sign that they accept ZELLE... so, I zelled the lady. Portion was big and they were generous. I took it back to my coworkers and we chowed it down because we were hungry. It was decent and not as oily.. My coworker also got the veggies egg rolls but not sure how it tasted because I forgot to ask him. In the end though we were just okay with it and since it's a short drive for us, prob we won't make the effort to go back to get it .. Overall, jsut okay but I would come back for the service and if I'm in the area and crave Chinese fast food again!

Potatoes/chicken in sauce, chicken with chilis and veg (spicy delish), chicken, and a tofu with onions, but I ate it all.

Amazing service! Three lady at the counter was helping someone get they're order from Too Good To Go because he didn't have the app on his phone and thought he could just walk in and pick it up. Beer nice and very patient. My picture doesn't show all the food I got because I was starving and ate all the tofu first. Great staff! 100% recommend.

The sisters that run this spot are the best. They are very reliable for catering orders and you should DEFINITELY go to them for a tray of chicken wings if you have a large group to feed. Wings are super flavorful with a good texture - not as crispy all the way around, but good crispy edges with umami flavor for days. $39 for a tray (or $70 for a huge tray) is not a bad deal. We did 2 huge trays each of wings, vegetable/tofu, and rice for around 100 people - it was the right amount, no leftovers, and folks were very happy. Note: Cash only!

Excellent place to get a plate of Chinese food. The service and quality of food is some of the best. It's roomy and very comfortable to sit and enjoy your meal or take it to go. This is a personal favorite for a lunch time meal.

3 item combo with chow mein. Same orange sauce on everything.

Was in Long Beach, looking for some fast food and this seemed rated way higher than other regular chains. If you like Panda Express, well - I kinda feel sorry for you, but you'll probably quite like this place. It's the epitome of Americanized Chinese take out. Otherwise, their food is pretty inedible. Wings were very dry & overcooked. Everything - especially chow mein - covered in bland orange sauce. Orange chicken very gooey. Simple mabu tofu was bland with same terrible sauce as kung pow chicken which had way more squash & baby corn than chicken or peanuts. Ended up throwing away wings, 2 egg rolls, orange chicken and will likely toss the rest tomorrow.

It was my first time trying this place for lunch time. I ordered in the drive thru and ordered a coke as well, and the total was around $9.60. The price is fair and the amount of food is good. However, the orange chicken didn't have much meat inside. It was mostly the skin. Also. I only got like 3 little pieces of beef. There was one big piece but it was excess skin and not good. The flavor of the rice was good. I didn't expect them to place a veggie roll inside, but it was good! Overall, if you're not picky about your Chinese food, I'd say give it a try. I'll be sticking to Panda Express though.

Each half tray was $15. Tons of food for cheap

Called to order ahead of time for pickup. We ordered half trays of chow mein, fried rice and wings for lunch. They said to come in 20 mins. The wings were ready, but the chow mein and fried rice weren't ready. We had to wait an extra 5-7 minutes. Got to work. Everything was fresh and tasty. It was a bit too fresh though. The flavor didn't fully seep in yet, but we ate the leftovers for the next few days. Everything was good. Would recommend, but if you're looking for something special, make sure to call and ask ahead of time. They don't always have everything.

Food is good, however when it comes to service we politely ask if we can have an extra plate because this combo is too big and can't be consumed alone so me and my partner shared. They said we should just cut the given plate (as you can see in the photo) They've done it twice . Why be cheap for a one plate..

I know prices are raising everywhere but for the price you're paying, SOME food quality would be nice. This was the last straw for me, I ordered a taco and a chicken salad. The taco was so beyond salty and oily I could not eat it. It literally melted thru the bag that's how oily it was and the amount of lettuce on it was almost comical. The salad I thought would have grilled chicken nicely on top but it was actually a bunch of cooked chopped chicken and a grip of cheese melted on top (I was unaware this is how they did their salad so that's my bad but also why put a bunch of hot chicken on lettuce like that??) it wilted the salad underneath which already had some bad leaves in there anyways and kind of defeated the point of a salad for a healthier option. The service is hot and miss, sometimes they're nice enough but a lot of the time it almost feels like you're bothering them or something The inside is your usual American type fast food place. Their burgers and Fries aren't bad (when they give them to you and not a tuna melt instead) but all and all I think it's worth passing on this location. Save yourself some money and some indigestion.

Our group of four had a chance to stop by for an early dine-in dinner, and found the chicken to well prepared and tasty. Originally founded in 1976 in Los Angeles by a enterprising franchisee who wanted to create his own fast food brand, Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken soon became very popular with LA residents. As sometimes happens with immigrant communities by word of mouth and 'paying it forward', the burgeoning Cambodians began to be the majority owners of franchisees, until it resulted in the brand being sold to a Cambodian in 2009. Considering the largest concentration of Cambodians outside of Cambodia is in Long Beach, California, I wanted to try this particular location. They also sell donuts here, and my credit card bill actually listed the donut shop as the vendor...this for me is not a selling point, but was not noticeable during our visit. It's a walk-up set-up, where you order/pay for your food through security windows. We ordered a 12-piece family combo for $35.45, which included 3 pieces of breast/thigh/wing/leg, 2 small orders of fries, a coleslaw and 6 rolls. They also sell fried catfish and shrimp, so got a 4 pc shrimp ($3.85). They only sell drinks by cans or bottles, so got 4 cans of Coke/Pepsi/Squirt. It is clearly stated that each order is fried fresh, taking about 20 minutes. Our order was ready in 15 minutes, and we decided to dine-in (a small makeshift outdoor dining area with temporary tables was set-up). The chicken was well brined and had been fried well (leaving plenty of space between the chicken), with the outer coat being crunchy with a little bit of spice. For me it tasted very similar to the popular national chain, but with more consistency. The 'small' fries were not that at all, but very large...with one being enough to feed the four of us. The fries looked underdone, but were not. There were no condiments available, so the saving grace was the thin hot sauce that you could dip your fries and chicken into. The rolls were forgettable, and the coleslaw was grocery store quality (which I actually like). In fact, the chicken and sides reminded me of what you could get at a grocery store deli, except always getting the chicken fresh, instead of ones that have been fried too many to a basket and sitting too long under a heat lamp. Freshness definitely matters here. There was plenty of food for the 4 of us, with us taking half of the meal home. It reheated very well, providing us a good lunch the following day.

YessVera's Tacos in Long Beach is hands down my go-to spot for tacos…read more I've been coming here for a few years now, and tacos are one of my top five favorite foods, so I'm pretty particular. I've tried almost everything on the menu, with maybe one or two meats left, and everything has been great. I've had the tacos, nachos, burritos, and even the horchata, and they always hit. The sauces though... OMG. That's really what takes it over the top. They're so good I've definitely taken an extra one or two home to use with breakfast the next day. My favorite meat is the asada, and I also really enjoy their potato tacos, which I almost forgot to mention. Super flavorful and always satisfying. Customer service is really nice, and even though they're usually pretty busy, you still get your food fairly fast for the amount of people there. Just a heads up, parking is super limited, so I definitely recommend calling ahead, placing your order, and then picking it up. It's a food truck setup at a market, so it's not really about ambience, but they do have some outdoor seating if you want to sit and eat. Vera's tacos is just a great little spot with consistently delicious food. Definitely one of the best taco spots in Long Beach. The carne asada here is delish - it's flavorful and tender. I like it taco form, but it's also great in a burrito. Whatever the case, the carne asada is solid. My favorite thing I've eaten so far are the tacos dorados de papa. For about $10, you get 4-5 taco(?) in a little foil tin. They're deep fried, topped with lettuce and crema. The tacos have just the right amount of potato to keep them meaty after a dip in the fryer. The toppings keep it feeling fresh. Deliciouso. Prices are very reasonable, if not cheap. Highly recommend Vera's Tacos if you're looking for something quick and easy.

This location in Signal Hill is the closest to our home, and we have been here before. So when we had an errand to run in the area, stopped by here for carry-out, even though there was dining space available. Service was great, the food this time wasn't the greatest. It was a rainy New Years Eve, so they were running their 'Kids get free Hot Cocoa' promo, and people were taking advantage. Even with such a very small published menu, there is definitely in-n-out terminology that will help the ordering process. But if you don't know it, the cashiers have always been kind in explaining/confirming. This time was no exception. The food does take a while to be ready, since each burger is only started once the order is made. The burgers were prepared nicely for carryout in a paper box to minimize squishing, and the fries were in a separate paper bag. I got a double-double animal style, replacing the grilled onions with whole grilled onions ($6.35). In terms of the taste, the novelty has definitely been replaced by appreciation for their consistency. That being said, it wasn't a great day for toppings today...it's still whole leaves (not shredded) but there wasn't as much of it, resulting it being past wilting and getting near slimy territory (though the other burgers seemed OK). Not great. Only their spread (a thousand island like sauce, for me, tasting similar to Big Mac sauce) is available on the main menu, though one can ask for ketchup or mustard (no mayo, though). We got 3 cheeseburgers as well ($4.40 each) and the rest of our party seemed to enjoy theirs. As for the fries (2 at $2.40) each...they really need to be eaten immediately, with added salt and ketchup. It's probably the cleanest french fries one can get (just freshly cut potatoes, fried in sunflower oil), but isn't great in taste, fast food wise. They only have one size, and two servings was fine for the four of us. Having no freezers in the stores means having to use freshly hand cut fries, which sounds great, but doesn't reach the ceiling what a freshly fried Mickey D's fry can (sometimes) attain.
