I had a love hate relationship with this place. I loved the spicy crispy chicken wings and hated everything else. I ordered the 3 item combo with orange chicken, bbq pork, and the chicken wings along with half and half chow mien, fried rice. The spicy crispy chicken wings were super good, great crunch, really good flavor, I'm not sure what they do to it, and totally afraid to ask, I just going to say they were great. Hong Kong Express is located on Santa Fe, just before the corner of Santa Fe and Willow. I've been coming here for a few years, and it's the same family working every time I go. They are always smiling and friendly. There's some tables for inside seating if you wish to dine in. The offer some fresh vietnamese style spring rolls made daily. I've had their crispy chicken wings and they are good--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and tangy all around. They are nicely battered and moist. The wings are five stars. Half fried rice, half noodles, orange chicken, beef broccoli, comes with a free egg roll - The price here is comparable to Panda Express. These two staple to go items are good here. Sometimes the chicken is fresher than others. If you see an old batch sitting there, I recommend asking when the new one is coming out. The beef is tender and the broccoli is crunchy. Half fried rice, half noodles, tofu with vegetables, zucchini with mushrooms, comes with a free egg roll - The tofu and vegetables here are okay. I like tofu, but I wish it had more flavor here. Perhaps it needs a better sauce to go with it. The zucchini and mushrooms are good. These items are a nice departure from the usual orange chicken and beef broccoli. Won ton soup - this is a pretty big serving. It comes with five wontons, lots of vegetables, and some shrimp. The broth is hot, salty, and contains a soy sauce flavor. The broth is good in terms of flavor. Putting some rice inside will cut the strength if you feel it's too salty. This is a very filling order of soup; I can't finish it all at once. I usually have leftovers. This is 3.5 stars rounded up because of the friendly staff. This is a convenient place to pickup generic Chinese food to go. My family will return once in a while. It's nice to support a local business once in a while instead of a juggernaut chain like Panda Express. read more

Went here for the first time because A friend told me this was the place to go for some really good Chinese food. I hadn't even tried the food yet and I was merely impressed by just the customer service. Both workers greeted me and held a nice conversation. The thing that made my day was when I ordered my orange chicken, I took the rest of what was left and after my food was served and bagged up they came out with more orange chicken and said "open your plate so we can give you some fresh chicken." My aunt and uncle brought a tray of some crispy spicy chicken wings to my party last month and I had to know where they got them from. They said it was their secret weapon, lol, but they finally gave in and gave up the info. Now it's my secret weapon, hehe for parties and potlucks. I call in and order a half tray of these magical tasty wings that EVERYONE loves, show up at Hong Kong Express 15 minutes or so later and pay $25 and Shazaam! I have yummy chicken wangs everyone drools over. The tray I get I think serves about 6-7 people but they have a full tray available as well for $50. The people that work here are a delight and the other food looks good but I just haven't had a chance to get past the wings yet. I'm taking a wing break right now but I'll be back when I need a fix. read more

Been going here for YEARS ever since the middle school days back in Hudson. Crazy how from middle school to high school I would walk to get to this place, now im all grown and could just DRIVE to it! hahaa :) This was a good kick it spot afterschool back in the days. I remember a whole group of us would just kick it in that really long chair thingy thats on the left side when you walk in. GOOD SERVICE. VERY FRIENDLY! same people thats been working there so im pretty sure they've seen a lot of us westside kids grow up. lol They also have this little drive thru window thing on the side which was actually USEFUL just earlier this weeek when it was all raining. soo me & my boyfriend didnt have to get down in the rain :) I go here when im super hungry but only got a couple of dollars on me. cuz its one of the most local places thats affordable around my area when I dont wanna go far to get something to eat. I think this is the only chinese food place in the west tooo. in my opinion its way better than the hong kong express in the wriggs area thats next to juice it up. If you come here between 3pm-5pm'ish you'll pretty much see a bunch of teeny high school boppers from CabrilloHS. which i find pretty cute cause I remember I use to be like that when i was their age. hahaa Hmmm.... I bought a half tray of the spicy crispy chicken wings from this place as a blind leap of faith never trying this place once but looking on Yelp. I'm happy to report Yelp did its rightful duty in leading me to this place. If you want tasty wings to bring to a party or pot luck and aren't really into places like Wing Stop or Buffalo Wild Wings, I was really impressed with these wings. They had the right amount of fry, batter and flavoring without feeling overwhelming in any one category or super greasy. They're called spicy and the red chili flakes are visible, but they weren't spicy at all. If you're familiar with the bottled sweet and spicy chili sauce seems to be drizzled over. A half tray (feeds about 6-8) cost $25 and I think a full try is $50. I was able to easily call in my order ahead of time. Make sure you bring CASH as this is a cash only joint. I can't really speak for the other food but for someone that avoids fast food Chinese fast food like this, it looked pretty tasty and pretty fresh. I'm only reviewing their chicken wings!! We order them for parties (spicy chicken wings) and they are super yummalicious!! The place is always packed with ppl ordering to go. There aren't very many seats so I doubt too many ppl eat there. Anyway, I'm not sure how their other food is. We came in because we heard that it was rated well, but no the orange chicken had such a weird flavor and it seemed like it was sitting there for hours , kind of sour . I couldn't finish it I'm not one to complain , so we just threw it away and left but would definitely not recommend this spot and they don't even hook you up . They put barley enough . I hate Chinese food. Especially the to go ones because it is coated in a ton of oil and probably, MSG. My bf lovessss this spot and always took me here so he could get food, but I never tried it. I was craving for wings one day when we came here and I got the mini combo which came with wings and chow mein (you can choose fried rice or white rice). It was surprisingly pretty good, still oily, but good. I would probably eat here if I wasn't having a health conscious day. The combos here are super cheap. Much cheaper and better tasting than the franchises such as Panda Express. Great service by the ladies here, too. There's also a drive thru window if you already know what you want. read more

The people who work here are really nice & they give so much food for cheap prices. I got my boyfriend & I the two item combo plates with orange chicken & beef & broccoli & fried wontons & a Thai slushie all for around $15. Both of our combo plates lasted each of us two meals with a little still left over. The fried wontons are delicious and addicting.
