Delicious, super-hot food and friendly staff. Hard to find old school Chinese food like this.

3 entrées are perfect for 4 people.

Who knew that a Hong Kong restaurant in small town Idaho Falls would have some of the best Chinese food around? Usually when you stumble across a lone Oriental restaurant in a rural area, the food often gets morphed into more American and less authenticly Asian tastes. So when we stumbled across this place, we didn't expect much. Boy were we surprised by the taste and quality of the food! I admit, the plating is more western style than asian (personal meals in mind vs dishes shared family style). However, you can just ask for extra empty plates and share if you want a sampling of more than one entrée. The nice thing about this restaurant is that they also offer meal plate combos so you can get mote variety. However, the offerings for the combos are limited to certain fried rice, sweet & sour meats, etc dishes. Loved the lemon chicken! That was the highlight of our meal. Tender, crisp, and juicy without being oberly sweet from the sauce. The other stir fried veggies, and sautéed meat with veggies were also flavorful and delicious. Would definitely recommend stopping by here if you're looking to try out some amazing Chinese food cuisine.

"Pan fried" NOT Beef Chow Mein. More like LA CHOY noodles

Here I go again. I'm being brave yet again trying another Chinese restaurant in Idaho Falls. Let's hope this place is better than the last place I went to about two months ago. When I first approached the building, I noticed the sign that read Hong Kong Restaurant Chinese & American Food. That immediately put up a red flag. If I want American food I'll go to Denny's but I was in the mood for Chinese so I asked for a table. The restaurant looks old and dated. There are a few tables in the front and there were small children playing in the booths. They brought me to the back room where there were more booths and tables. I looked in the menu and saw the Hong Kong Special, with "Cantonese style fried noodles" under Authentic Chinese Specialties that caught my eye. I asked the server if these were pan fried thin noodles. She told me they were, so I went ahead and ordered it along with sweet and sour pork with the sauce on the side. I took pictures of the restaurant and within minutes my food was ready. NOT A GOOD SIGN. When the server brought me the noodles, I asked her, I thought you said these were pan fried? She said they were. She failed to mention they were pan fried by LA CHOY! The sweet and sour pork was ok but and the sauce was not bad. However, the pork was over cooked and was extremely tough. I also order fried rice for an extra $1.75. I tasted the fried rice and it had a very rancid, slimy flavor to it. I couldn't eat it. I called the server over and asked for white rice. She said that I would have to pay extra. Fine... She brought it to me and I found a black foreign matter in it. I brought it to the server's attention and she told me that it was just pepper. Peppercorn are not that small and flakes are not that big. I told her "that's not very appetizing." Then she WALKED AWAY. She did not offer to replace my rice and charged me for it! The server hasn't come back to my table to ask how everything is going and disappeared in the kitchen. I've lost my appetite and had to leave. $35 could've bought me a nice steak dinner. Needless to say. I don't think I will try Chinese food in Idaho Falls again. I don't know how they can receive 4 stars with the service and food quality. Save your money. This place is not worth it.

Good Chinese food at decent prices.

Best chicken fried rice I've had to date! 10/10 recommend. I think it's the bacon and egg combo that just elevates the experience

I tend to like authentic chinese, and this place is indeed american chinese, but I thought I'd give it a shot. There were a lot of menu items I avoided - I knew I wouldn't like anything that screamed american chinese, but I found they had hot pots and a few spicy dishes that I might prefer. I said I wanted their spicy beef - extra spicy (the hot pot I wanted to try as was). When asked "1 to 10?", I said definitely 10 - as hot as you'll go. Well, it arrived at what I would call a 2, and barely that. But they were very good at bringing out some chili paste, and that made it a very nice medium spiced dish. Both dishes were very tasty, and I told my spouse I would be quite willing to come again, especially since it is just across a street from out business mailbox.

Absolutely the worst Chinese food my boyfriend and I have ever eaten. We live in Teton Valley and…read morewere in Idaho Falls to go shopping. Knowing we would get home way too late to start cooking, I googled for Chinese restaurants, and this one came up on my phone with good reviews (note, on my computer the reviews were only 3.0, but on the phone, they were over 4). The menu was very small, and a little on the expensive side, but we already walked in, and wanted to get going home, so we decided to order rather than try and find another place to pick up food. BIGGEST MISTAKE! We both love spicy food, so I ordered the Spicy Hot Diced Chicken (Diced chicken, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, green peppers, celery and green pear). and my boyfriend ordered the Spicy Hot Pepper Beef (Choice sliced beef with green peppers, onions, mushrooms, bamboo shoots in spicy hot sauce). We each ordered the small fried rice, mine with no pork. Where do I start? Neither one of the descriptions say carrots, but both had them (mine diced, his julienned). Mine was supposed to have bamboo shoots and green pears, instead it had peas and almond slices. The pieces of chicken were not diced, but the veggies were (not a complaint, but definitely not as described on the menu!) They were both supposed to be spicy, but the only flavor, let alone spice, was the crushed red pepper. Now lets talk about the fried rice. To start, we ordered small fried rice, as that was described to us as what would normally come with a meal, rather than a larger fried rice, which usually is it's own meal. Small is an understatement. I wish we had measured it before putting it on the plate, because if it was a third of a cup, I would be surprised. There was absolutely NOTHING fried about this rice. It was white rice, with scallions and a little scrambled egg (and pork in my boyfriends as ordered). No soy sauce, no veggies, no flavor, whatsoever. Because the portion was so small (it did not come with any other white rice), we will need to make more to finish the amount of food that came with the dinner portion of the meal. Fortunately someone knew that there was no flavor in their food because they put enough Soy Sauce in the bag to drown out the taste of just about anything. I also ordered a side of Spring Rolls, which is 6 of the smallest fried dough with barely any veggies in it. I chose to snack on one in the car, and it was horrible. I thought maybe I would try a second dipped in the duck sauce- MISTAKE! My bad because the car moved, and I spilled some on my hand, but it was HOT, and I totally burned the palm of my hand. Who serves HOT DUCK SAUCE? YUCK! I truly feel bad (or envy?) all of the people that wrote reviews indicating this is amazing Chinese food, because they clearly have never tasted good Chinese food. The best part of the meal? The pre-packaged fortune cookie. Literally the only thing that tasted like Chinese food should.
