I had the "family fiesta" and Cheryl had the Cashew Chicken. Both were more than we could eat so needed taken home boxes. Good Chinese food with great service and prices. There aren't a lot of restaurant choices in Bayfield but thankfully we have Hong's Garden. The Chinese food is good and portions are generous for very reasonable prices. The staff is always very friendly. The food comes out fairly quickly and always hot. We've been a few times and have enjoyed the hot and sour soup (not particularly spicy but flavorful), Kung Pan Chicken (again, delicious but not very spicy), and most recently, Szechwan Family Delight (nice combo of chicken and seafood, not too spicy). It's nice that they give complementary wontons with every meal. All in all, we're always happy with our meal at Hong's Garden. read more

Amazing food and wonderful owners. This is one of my parents favorite restaurants in Bayfield and a must eat when I'm in town visiting. Monica and Joe are so welcoming and professional. The food is always cooked just right with fresh and crunchy veggies. I love all of their soups and beef dishes along with the potstickers and twice cooked pork. They will make any modifications to your order which is always so helpful. I find that it is hard to find really good Chinese food no matter where I am. This place is the real deal! read more

Traveling, so we thought we would stop for lunch. Service was prompt and friendly. Both the hot & sour and egg drop soup were flavorful and good so we thought we were going to really enjoy lunch. The egg rolls came and the inside was just a mush of vegetables. Ordered sweet and sour pork and Szechuan Pork. Both were pretty bland, the sweet and sour veggies were way undercooked and the Szechuan Pork veggies were way overcooked (go figure) Fried rice was mushy and bland. The service was excellent. We went in and they were very busy. Two waitresses to the whole place but they were extremely efficient and hard working. We had cashew chicken, sesame chicken, and sizzling chicken with vegetables. Everything tasted great. You get a very large portion of food, plenty to take home or even share plates. Some people just don't even know what interesting and worthwhile Chinese food is like. You are just as well off buying a frozen Chinese food dinner and finding a microwave. This is basically just frozen food warmed up. No character. No personality. Nothing noteworthy or remarkable. Food took 2 minutes to come out after I ordered, and service was polite and punctual. Indian Summer environment was a bit hot because I don't think the AC was on very high, or even at all. Lower 80s outside. I bet the best thing to do is try the lunch buffet. It still won't be that great, but at least you will have more variety and choices. read more

My wife and I were in a mood for good Chinese food. We looked at the ratings for Chinese fare in Durango, but it was hit or miss; either 5 star or 1 star. The only restaurant that had consistently good ratings was Hong's Garden- located a short 20 miles east In Bayfield. It was definitely worth the 20 minute drive! Situated in a mini-mall, there was plenty of parking. We were met and seated by a delightful young woman who proceeded to serve us a wonderful meal. My egg drop soup and my wife's wonton soup was very tasty and served hot. My entree of Beef and Broccoli was tender and terrific. My wife chose the Lemon Chicken which crispy with a delightful lemon sauce. Both entrees were so large we took plenty home with us. I would not hesitate giving this a 5-star rating and recommending this place to anyone in search of a filling and delectable meal read more
