After a highly stressful week, coming to Honi and Hive Salon Spa was a breath of fresh air. From start to finish, the entire visit felt like a premium, super luxurious experience. Ella did an absolutely amazing job on my hair! She gave me the most perfect face-framing long bangs and stunning long layers. She listened exactly to what I wanted and executed it flawlessly. On top of the incredible cut, the shampoo service was the most relaxing thing ever. Ella even included a small massage at the bowl that completely melted all my stress away. Tiffany was sooooo sweet! She was given the okay to do whatever she wanted to my hair. Came out great. A little pricey for a haircut. The front of salon had fabulous items for sale (jewelry, hair paint, hair products, etc). They have it decorated for Christmas and it feels very cheerful inside. Mickey nice person. I wish her well in her future endeavours. Unfortunately, she doesn't know how to apply color throughout w/o causing a band of color in your hair to where you have 2 colors and didn't get highlights; how is this even possible?! The two different times I went there, she showed me my hair in the mirror when done (especially the back), but she didn't pull up sections of my hair because I assumed that she knew what the heck she was doing. Boy! Was I wrong-- she didn't. If you're in her chair-- check your hair. For the price point, this should not be happening. This was not pointed out to me till I went to a new hairstylist and was showed what I was paying for. Ugh! I never got highlights. I always got all over color. I was then told by the new salon that the girl you went to in the past, apparently didn't know colour as well as she thought and did you dirty by applying it incorrectly. Front desk person nice at first but quick to cut you off at the knees, especially if you call a couple of times to try and rearrange an appointment or if you have questions regarding products. She has more time for her schooling then she does taking care of the customers that walk through the door. The owner said, this is not the first time and will address it. There are other salons out there that are a lot more qualified than this one. The name is nice, but the people behind the name not so. If you find a hairstylist at the salon that you like, then stick with them, but for the price point, I'm gonna go elsewhere. read more

After losing my hairdresser of over 15 years, my search is over for a new one. I found CAE at Honi and Hive. To say she is an artist is underplaying what she does. She cut my hair to fit my face and my hair type. She offered suggestions and educated me on my hair type and what would make it look best. I took her up on her suggestion and I was blown away! I THOUGHT I knew how my hair looked best, but she came up with a style that works for me and my hectic schedule. I truly have a 'wash and wear' style that looks fantastic. Jennifer is an absolute treasure as a hair stylist and human being! I moved to Henderson with my fiancé a few months back and have been putting off getting a haircut. Being someone who is obsessed with having long hair, I have had some undesirable haircuts in life. Jennifer genuinely cared about my concerns/ paranoia... especially since I was trying out layers..! She took the time and effort to talk me through my options even though I was the last client of the day. We decided long layers were the best choice. This is the very last time I'm updating my review. For those of you not seeing the rest, it went from 5 stars to 3 stars to now I wish I could give her zero stars. Cae is highly talented at her craft, however, she lacks emotional intelligence required to run a business. After all the turmoil she's caused, I was still going to give her another chance to make it right. When I asked if she has an opening this week, she replied with a petulant attitude that basically resulted in this review. This is the first time I've visited this salon but it won't be the last. The salon is tucked away in an easy to access location with plenty of parking. The sweet as honey decor is whimsical and comfortable making you feel right at home. And the people... Friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I was lucky to get Cae as my stylist. I explained what I kinda wanted since I really didn't know. I showed her a picture of the style I used to have and it was like a magic light - She knew just what to do! By the time she was finished, I was looking amazing! Cae captured exactly what I didn't know I wanted, exactly! Cae is fun, smart, a terrific businesswoman, and a class-act stylist. Jenn Basden is a hair color artist. We randomly found her on Yelp and have been so happy. She pays much attention to detail, and will literally block out five hours for your day. There's no rushing, and she does not put you under a heat dryer to rush hair color. She also gives great advice as to what products will maintain the color and continue to keep your hair healthy. This person did an amazing job on my hair. It's been a week and I'm still getting a ton of compliments on it! My short haired friends truly admire the great work she did on my sides as well. I went in yesterday for a blow dry and cut and I was booked with Christina. She was extremely personable and seems kind. She gave a good consultation and I showed her my inspo pic. During my cut she asked me if I have ever seen 'the butterfly cut' on Instagram and whether I had thought about getting it. I told her I have seen the style but have never really thought about getting it at this time. Afterwards , I took a work phone call and when I was finished she stated ' well to follow up with our conversation I'm giving you a butterfly cut ." She told me I wouldn't lose my length and all the hair she was cutting was just layers I was a little in a shock because I just asked for long layers and curtain bangs. When she was done with my hair it was extremely short by about 3 inches when I only asked for an inch off. She did a good 'butterfly cut' but that's not what I asked for and it was not equivalent to a long layered cut like I asked for. My hair was shiny and the blowout was nice. When I woke up this morning and saw my hair unstyled , I wanted to cry because it looks like a mullet. I'm extremely depressed because I'm getting married in a couple of months and it had taken me so long to grow out my hair. I will post pictures of what I asked for and what I got. My hair is an extremely short butterfly mullet. Please do not do things on clients unless you ask. I cannot come back here , and I'm really sad because I love blowouts and was on my way to becoming a regular. read more

When I came into the salon, I was sporting three shades of brown: a dark brown at the root, a medium brown in the middle of my strands, and a blonde at the tip. I had dyed my hair a couple of times in the past and so I developed bands! My hair had damaged ends and I was afraid of how the salon experience would go (in the past I've dealt with rude hair stylists and color technicians who would deny or ignore my requests). However, I requested a color correction and full dye as I wanted to return to a crimson red color. The salon worked with me, contacting me through text message for a consultation and setting up an appointment QUICKLY! I was beyond pleased! When I showed up, the salon took my breath away and everyone I interacted with was very nice and responsive. Bre gave me several options for the red color, was very friendly, and even offered me beverages. I even got my ends cut! Cae checked in with Bre to make sure that my hair was getting what it needed to reach the most vibrant red. Overall, I am very happy with the salon experience and will be returning in the future! read more

I had a hard time with bleach because of my asthma and Jenn figured out a solution so we could still use bleach and it wouldn't bother my asthma. First of all this salon is so cute inside and out. You can really tell they have made (and continue to do so) a great effort to make the salon as beautiful as possible. There are so many adorable pieces that click together so well. I love the sunny, bee, sunflower theme, so beautiful! Ok now the juicy tea! MY HAIR HAS NEVER COME OUT THIS WELL AFTER ONE VISIT! I am a habitual blonde to brown and brown to blond offender. So I know the the drill, it takes time, money and effort to become blonde. But let me just say that Bella knocked it out of the park for me. She had the best technique I've seen and she didn't keep me in the chair 6+ hours. I got a 3/4 highlight and root smudge and she made it look like this was my third visit instead of my first. I will NEVER go to anyone else if I can help it. I cannot recommend this salon enough! First I came in got my hair cut it was fabulous. So I decided to get my nails done. I had my fingernails done, extremely happy with them. Then I had my toes done. Not happy at all.
