Nikki did a fabulous layered cut with curtain bangs, and I've had my hair toned by both of them--each time I loved the results. They're also excellent at hair coloring if you're into a wide array of color options. The vibe is trendy and welcoming, not at all like a pretentious high-end salon. I have stereotypical Asian hair; it's coarse and stick-straight. It was important for me to find someone who knows how to deal with my type of hair. After asking around, I learned about Desert Flower from a friend/ neighbor, who specifically recommended Mickey, who is wonderful. She's great at her craft and truly cares about her clients. I've since visited the salon three times as of August 2025 and have left happy every time. I've been struggling with finding a hair dye to cover my greys without causing my scalp to turn red and itch uncontrollably. It's been an issue for me for the past couple of years and I've tried lots of different salons and products in the hopes for a better outcome. Briauna has been doing my hair for almost 7 years. When I started seeing her, I would regularly go years in between cuts because of my sensory issues. She's been accommodating and welcoming every time. Thanks to her, I've branched out into colored bangs, color blocks, and lots of vivid colors. I actually look forward to seeing her every month and my hair has never been healthier! Briauna is thorough and will cover all the what-ifs of your service with you. For example, the first time we bleached my box-dyed hair, we had a color goal, but she came up with a few alternatives in case my hair couldn't handle multiple bleach applications. It's so cool to watch her work! Whenever I show her a reference photo for a color, she can eyeball the color measurements and nail it on the first try. When I showed her a shaggy, messy hairstyle that I loved but wasn't sure I wanted to commit to, she razored in a few layers and we revisited the look at my next appointment to add in more layers. I'm trying to shake up my style and asked for variation of my usual cut. It looked amazing when I left but when I after I washed my hair and did my usual at-home styling I realized it wasn't quite what I wanted (even though it was exactly what I'd asked for). Run from Elena, she did not listen to how I wanted my hair. I left with my roots looking like I had not done my hair for months. And I was blonde she turned them auburn, RED, and I still paid her. I got my hair shampooed, colored, and cut 7 inches off a couple weeks ago. My stylist is Macey, and she does such an amazing job. I came back today because I decided I wanted it even shorter. I asked her for some tips on how to style my short hair, and she took the time to teach me. She went as far as to let me try to curl it with a straightener, and gave me tips on how to better hold the straightener to curl easier. She goes above and beyond. I will continue to see Macey! First thing I want to say is. I tried several times to resolve my situation with the owner, April. 3 or 4 emails were sent, she only responded to the first one offering me a complimentary haircut if I choose to come back. This was the last thing I would want after I asked for about 2 inches cut and Abby cut 4 inches! Anyone that has long hair, knows it takes a long time to get their length. A lifetime of haircuts and I have NEVER had anyone tell me too look up (at the ceiling) to cut the back! Insane! To say I am devastated is an understatement. Having hair down to the middle of my back and now having it just past my shoulders I was in tears for days, I couldn't even look in the mirror! I have spent close to $800 with tips in this salon. I got highlights the first time and they were ok enough that I went back 2 more times. This last time being the absolute last time I will step foot in this salon. Abby does not know how to do layers at all. I have 2 lengths, that's it, no layers at all. Not to mention how choppy and uneven the cut was. My highlights are so dry that they keep falling out when I brush my hair. It's a shame that there are other reviews detailing bad experiences, some with Abby and they continue to stay open. April had no intention in trying to find a amicable solution. I quote her: "I'm sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your hair. You mentioned that the cut was not even, would you be comfortable having Abby double check that cut and make it even for you? Or I would be more than happy to do it as well. Unfortunately we can't add length to the hair, I wish we could! What we can do is offer a complimentary haircut on your next visit, if you choose to come back. We hope that you will give us another shot as we always strive to make our guests happy. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you, April (Owner)" This is so NOT the way you run a business. Had this been my salon, I would have apologized profusely and refunded the clients money, period. You want me to come in for a fix from Abby or yourself? Like I want ANYMORE of my hair cut off! You strive to make your guests happy? April, you should be ashamed of yourself! Unfortunately I had the worst experience here with Elena. I came in for partial highlights and i left with horizontal stripes on my head, she didn't put the foils close enough to my scalp and there was a good half inch of roots. I let her know I was unhappy so I had to come back and waste more of my time. She redid the highlights so now I have not only banding but yellow hair. I mean this is ridiculous and it looks horrible.
