First of all, take this review with a grain of salt as I am an amateur coffee drinker. Been wanting to check this place out since they've opened and finally had a chance to do so on Tuesday when I headed to work earlier. The place is attached to an office building as well so you can either entire from their store front or cut through from the office building as they've got seating in some of the office lobby space as well. Decided to order the Hawaiian latte, Gibraltar and a Lilikoi Macadamia Scone. I've never tried any of these before so there's really no comparisons to make. The Hawaiian latte comes with the option of whipped cream. The latte has hints of coconut flavoring from the syrup they've added. The Gibraltar is 2 shots of espresso with some milk; they serve this on a wooden board with a side of sparkling water and three chocolate coffee beans. As a person who is more familiar with the macchiatos and flat whites, I found the Gibraltar to be slightly on the bitter side as there was barely any milk but pairing it with a pastry definitely helped with the acidity and bitterness of the espresso. Generally not a scone fan but decided to opt for the Lilikoi Macadamia scone. Had no idea what lilikoi was prior to this but the internet says passion fruit. The scone itself was slightly sweet and surprisingly had pieces of macadamia nuts in it as well. Would love to come back to try their cakes and cold drinks but the cakes are a little on the pricier side at just under $7 for a slice and I don't usually have cravings for cakes so we'll see about that one but not a bad location as you can enjoy a quiet little cafe early in the morning before the hustle and bustle of downtown. read more

Wow! It is so rare for me to go to a coffee shop and be able to get a pastry or bread. Here they had a vegan spice bread that was amazing. Full of rich flavor and not too heavy. The Hawaiian latte was also excellent. I loved the rich, nutty flavor and it blended perfectly with the spice bread. The staff were very helpful and accommodating of questions. No problem for non dairy alternative for your coffee and several food choices beyond banana. Yay! The ambiance deserves a mention. While this is set back from the street, it still has that vibe of you being in a city. Without the honking and foot traffic and cramped quarters some coffee places are known for -and I appreciated it. It was not busy -good for me on a Saturday morning. I'll start by saying I'm normally a tea drinker; coffee normally gets my heart racing too much. I came here for a work meeting and my colleague recommended the Hawaiian Latte since I like things on the sweeter side and it's a latte, so less caffeine? Anyways it tasted pretty good without giving me a heart attack. They also serve pastries and cakes. I tried their passionfruit chocolate cake and their matcha cake. They're similar to those you'd get from Thierry, Ganache, or Faubourg, but not as tasty at the same price range. Probably won't get their cakes here again. I also tried their chocolate croissants and another savory one to-go. These were done quite well and made for a quick lunch. This location is a bit hard to find. It's tucked into an office building, next to Gyu-Kaku. The layout is long and narrow. There's a section that ends up in the lobby of the building their in where they have loungy sofas and feels like you are away from the rest of the coffee shop. I like the privacy. This is a nice surprising 'tropical' spot in downtown Vancouver. The decor is light with an exotic Hawaiian feel to it. There's nothing extraordinary about the coffee , at least I didn't notice with the Americano I ordered. However, I didn't try the other blends of coffee. I like that you can get authentic Kona blend beans here to go, but note that they are on the pricy side. They have several pastries to choose from. I had the matcha green cranberry cookie, which was a nice little snack. I would like to try the other items on their menu and was impressed that they carry Maui Brewing beer, as I had this when I was in Hawaii. It's good beer! This cute cafe became my go-to spot for breakfast and coffee every morning during my stay in Vancouver. I'm not usually into nutty foods but their macadamia-nut-flavored Hawaiian latte was a treat every time. I also would order the Aloha acai bowl every morning - it's simple but it has all that you need. I also tried their acai smoothie which is basic as well but very refreshing. The space is light and beachy (without being cheesy) which was a great atmosphere, especially for the rainy day I came in on. The staff is quick, efficient, kind, and good at what they do. The COFFEE. The coffee is AMAZING! I had the Kona blend and it was perfect. Smooth and flavorful, bright without being acidic. It was just perfect for me. I went here with my friend last sunday for a coffee. Interior looked so nice and clean the moment we walked in. Even washroom was clean too. I ordered Caramel Macchiato(small $4.65) while my buddy G got organic Green Tea (around $5) they were good. I personally find my drink too expensive, the size is equivalent to short size from Starbucks. It was tasty though. G told me he found his drink expensive as well. Service was fast and friendly. I'd like to rate at least 4stars if the pricing was good. Felt like the drinks were so expensive. Great experience, however I'd rather go to Starbucks or another coffee shop with lower price. Stopped by here to do some sketching and note-taking, and also just to try a new coffee shop. I went for a mocha and a cookie, which are some of my favourite coffee shop staples, though it seems like this place does have some unique desserts and seasonal warm drinks that might be worth trying next time! The mocha had a fairly nice balance of coffee and cacao flavours, but I found it a bit too sweet for my taste. And I got a double-chocolate salted toffee cookie, which had a great texture and also tasted pretty good but too sweet. Overall I felt like other coffee shops make the same kinds of things with less sugar, which I prefer. The space itself was very wide-open and quite inviting, and the staff were quick and friendly. There weren't a lot of seats that felt comfortable for a solo visitor, but it seems like a great place to hang out with friends for a bit. This is one of my favorite coffee places in the downtown core area! tasty coffee creations and extremely friendly staff make this place a great caffeine option when you are downtown. The area feels nice and spacious since it opens up into the lobby of an office building and to an outside space. I tried both the 100% Kona Coffee and Kona Coffee Wai'ono meadows pour overs. both delicious! food options are not extensive but all seem to have a Hawaiian twist (think Macadamia nut chocolate chip cookies, salad with lillikoi dressing, pineapple croissants). My sister and I decide to checked this coffee shop out due to the high ratings and it was within super close walking distance to our hotel, The Sutton Place Hotel. We both ordered their specialty coffee, the Hawaiian Latte. Ah yes, the perfect blend of coconut, macadamia nut and caffeine. It was a great morning pep! We were headed to brunch and needed a little pick-me-up because the wait was going to be 45minutes. It's super nice inside. A nice open space is super welcoming and the communal tables were great to sit down, open a laptop or read a little while enjoying your coffee. They actually had newspapers out for folks to read. One of my friends actually took a seat and read a little while we waited....which wasn't long. 4 coffees were cranked out super quick! My iced latte was well made. This coffee shop has a good location on Nelson Street and it is very spacious having a big counter/cashier, retail space, and seating areas. The ambience is causal and comfortable. It is a great place to have a cup of coffee, try their pastries/sandwiches, sit and chat with friends. I ordered a small hot Hawaiian latte and my friend ordered a small hot chai latte. The Hawaiian latte tasted wonderful with some hazelnut flavour, espresso and milk. I wouldn't be able to find this flavour at other coffee shops yet. It was quite special as far as I know. However, although my friend ordered a hot chai latte, it was not hot enough. She had to ask a barista to make another one. Due to the location, the pricing of the coffee and beverages is a bit more expensive than others. Lots of space to work out of!! For those wondering, THERE ARE PLUGS!! Woo! There are multiple seats with plugs so you can definitely work there for the whole day. The main table however does not have plugs I got ice Hawaiian latte, and it was delicious. It has coconut and macadamia nuts. For cold drinks, there's only once size. The staff were really friendly and the space was really clean. Lots of yummy restaurants around as well, with Gyu kaku and Guu garden right next to it! Would recommend! Found this cute little shop on Yelp when I was craving some latte. The name stood out to me since it had "Honolulu" in it which reminded me of Hawaii and Kona coffee! Woohoo! This is some strong coffee. We ordered two cups of the pour coffee, one regular Kona and one of the estate blend. I was wired for hours, have not had this feeling since last time on the Big Island. Their cafe on Nelson is not so easily seen if you're driving by and only paying attention to what's infront of you; which I would imagine is the responsible way to drive. Found this cute coffee shop through Yelp! I ordered an iced Hawaiian Latte based off the reviews. It was nutty and sweet, super tasty! It costed around $6 CAD (~4.76 USD) which isn't bad, probably cheaper than Starbucks. I wanted to order a breakfast sandwich but they were all sold out except for the one with mushroom (I hate mushroom, so pass). The coffee shop has plenty of seating but limited power outlets. So if you're coming here to use your computer, make sure to scope around before you sit down. The noise level is typical for a coffee shop. I probably wouldn't come here if I needed to fully concentrate on studying but if you're able to cancel out the noise you should come! Overall, good coffee and cute interior. read more

Took advantage of a $5 coupon and ordered a Matcha Latte with Soy Milk. Even with the coupon, I ended up paying around $2. I'm glad I had the discount because the drink was small (12 oz) and not worth $7. The drink tasted pretty good. I like how creamy and smooth the latte is and wasn't overly sweet. Though I wished the matcha flavour was stronger. This cafe is pretty roomy so would be a good option for meetings or longer stays. It's an interesting twist, but when you're looking for a good standard coffee, it's hard to go past their latte. 2 stars for the food and pastry selection though. On one trip we tried the chocolate croissant, I found it really dry and almost stale... perhaps because we're spoiled for choice in Vancouver with a number of delicious bakeries around town. I am not a big dessert guy at all. Never have had much of a craving for sweets. I drink my coffee black on a daily basis. The coconut latte and lilikoi bread at here is the only exception. This is exactly as delicious as it was when I had it in Honolulu. Two months after my Vancouver visit I yearn for it again. Never mind the Northwest winters- this is what warmth, sunshine, and comfort taste like. So I think this is one of my top two places to get an iced mocha in the city - it was deeeelicoius!! So ONO!! Though the only option is a large, which could easily translate into two drinks for me...
