    The menu.

Before I blather on let me say head out here and get the $5 shrimp po boy special to try them out. It's not on a bun.. it's a 6(or more) inch loaf that's a little skinny but that made it perfect for eating and driving. The person claiming touristy prices must be from out of town or something. You get what you pay for. We have inflation dood! Lay off the "stuff" brah. You trippin! So, I was headed home to Reefer Ridge in almost Kennah, brah! after an appointment with a client. I was talking to my friend Jeff Hewitt, former Riverside County supervisor that served on the LNC with me. He is the guy who knows who the real life John Galt is but I ain't tellin. I then saw this sign that said $5 Shrimp Sandwich. I told this to Jeff as I was U turning and he agreed that I needed to go back and check that out. It was the new seafood restaurant taking over the old Rally's across from the St Roch Market. My first impression was the place was clean. My next impression was "Oh £¥€k! Where is my wallet!" I then drove to the speaker and they confirmed they could use my Apple wallet. My next impression was it was a pretty extensive menu and it looked good. I ordered the $5 special and decided to get a side of red beans. My next impression was at the window where I noticed they seemed to be Asian. "Eff Yeah!"This got me hopeful because maybe they were Vietnamese and most of my preferred shrimp po boys have been made by people of Vietnamese ethnicity. My Apple Wallet worked! After a very short wait of maybe 3-5 minutes they handed me a bag. I then continued on my way home.. eating my sammich. I had figured it was going to get a bun. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a po boy banh mi style. A little six(or more) inch loaf. I had forgotten to ask for ketchup and hot sauce the way I normally get it but that was ok especially for the first time. My next impression was how perfect the bread was. It was crisp and light and didn't cut my mouth. The shrimp were fresh and good and of a decent size. I could have stood a little more mayo for my taste but once again better for the first impression. I stayed off the interstate as I was eating and talking to Jeff on my headset. I finished the sandwich very pleased. Despite how skinny it was, it took me a while to eat. I moved on to the red beans. First impression here was.. "That's a lotta garlic!" Beans were good. Some meat in them. Not overloaded with rice. Portion size was maybe a little small for $3 So I am sitting here writing this review shocked how few reviews there are already and how poor the ones that are. Don't take our word for it. Go get the 5 dollar special and come make your own. Sorry for the lack of pics. I was driving, eating and talking on a headset. I have the menu in my car so I was grab that and post it. Every time I think about it.. I think I want another one and am considering making the 25 minute trip today, even though it's less that 12 hours later. That's a good sign.

    $6 Special Fish Poboy

After reading the reviews for this place I decided to give them a try and review it myself. I had pretty low expectations to be honest. Went through the drive through and was in and out in about 5 minutes. I drove home before opening the package thinking I'd need to add more dressing or cheese etc. After the 10-15 minute drive to midcity the sandwich was still acceptably warm, crispy, and delicious.. I didn't add anything and was totally happy with it.. My GF thought it was weird that it didn't have tomato, but it had the right amount of lettuce, pickle and mayo for my personal taste. (saw another positive review that said it was light on mayo, I wonder if they saw that and adjusted, because I like a fairly unhealthy amount of mayo on my sandwich's and this was perfect) The bun had a great texture, about an 8 inch sandwich with plenty of fish (catfish) - I really liked the way the fish was cut up and battered, really nicely balanced bites. I was going to give it 4 stars but I couldn't come up with a single improvement that would make it better so they get 5 on this sandwich.. I'll try another menu item next time and update if necessary! (if I can resist getting this sandwich again!)

Lemon pepper bread it I didn't want that I thought it was nake it and chicken look like it's on steroids

I'm pissed. The first time I tried it and it's nasty cajun rice is plain rice no taste, the chicken wings looked make on the picture lemo pepper bread is not good , service good but that not Cajun rice and the need new chicken wings

    FOURTEEN DOLLARS for this

this place is basically a scam, the amount of food you receive looks nothing like what is pictured. paid fourteen dollars for a "basket" and got seven shrimp. You'd be better off going literally anywhere else.

You nearly trip over the hospitality walking through the front door. The room buzzes with energy, the staff smiles because they mean it, and within minutes you know you're exactly where you should be. We kicked things off with the chargrilled oysters, which I consider the perfect amuse-bouche. As the oysters grill against the shell, the Maillard reaction creates layers of savory, nutty, umami goodness that simply can't be duplicated. Butter, garlic, and Parmesan perfume the air, announcing to everyone nearby that someone made an excellent decision. Then there's "Hollywood," Acme's legendary master shucker. His advice was simple: "Splash a little Chipotle Tabasco on them." Not enough to hide the oysters--just enough to wake them up. He was right. For my entrée, I chose the generously sized farm-raised soft-shell crab with hush puppies, red beans, and rice. The crab was crisp without being heavy, sweet without being lost, and a light dip into the house remoulade was all it needed. This is food that doesn't chase trends. It simply knows what it is. An ice-cold amber Abita completed the experience. Great food is memorable. Great hospitality is unforgettable. Acme Oyster House delivers both in abundance, reminding us that eating south of I-10 isn't just a meal--it's a way of life.

The hurricane was too sweet and somehow tasted stale (I don't know if I've ever used that word to describe a drink before). It tasted like it was premade and sat around. Pretty disappointing.

As soon as they arrived, I picked one up and immediately thought, "Wow, this is incredibly light." Anyone who eats crabs regularly knows that's usually a bad sign. When I opened it, it was completely hollow inside--nothing but an empty shell. A crab that is hollow like that was dead before it was cooked. I never took a single bite. I showed it to our server, Remy B., who apologized and said she would let the manager know. She took the plate away, so I assumed the issue was being handled. When the bill arrived, I was still charged for the crabs. I asked to speak with a manager and explained exactly what happened. She confirmed that I had notified the server and that the plate had been taken away. Then she told me that it didn't matter because their policy is to not give refunds or remove food from a check. Let that sink in: they acknowledged that I didn't eat the food, acknowledged that the server removed it, and still charged me for it. A restaurant standing behind its food is the bare minimum. Charging customers for food that was clearly unacceptable and never eaten is ridiculous. The lack of concern from management was even more disappointing than the crab itself. The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because the young man at the host stand was friendly, professional, and the one bright spot of the entire experience.

My favorite thing we got was definitely the veggie red beans and rice. It was very balanced and cooked well. I was very excited to try their shrimp and grits, but it wasn't that great. The grits were quite grainy and didn't taste cheesy as described. They weren't creamy at all and really tasted like plain barely salted grits that could have been cooked a bit longer. The shrimp was flavorful and the sear on the outside was nice, but they were quite overcooked and tough. There was a much higher ratio of grits to shrimp and gravy than you would want, especially given the grits were not that good. However, my husband absolutely loved the chicken pasta and said it was one of the best he has ever had. They definitely can make good food but I would skip the shrimp and grits. The lemonade I ordered was also incredibly watery. The service was efficient and good overall, but very impersonal and bare minimum. Definitely efficiency prioritized over true dinner service. Not bad but not what I expected.

I ordered the shrimp po' boy, which was around $22, and was surprised it didn't come with fries. Usually places either include them or at least mention that they're separate when ordering. I don't know if it was burnt cheese or what, but I personally could not eat more than one. The service also wasn't great during our visit. After our food was dropped off, our waiter never checked back in.
