If you're visiting New Orleans and looking for a cool spot for seafood boil, this place is absolutely worth the trip. it's a little outside the French Quarter but the quality of the food and the exceptional service made it a 5stars experience. Shoutout to our server, Jackie, who provided outstanding customer service. She was super friendly, attentive, and took her time w us not just to serve us but to get to know us. You can tell the staff genuinely cares about making sure every guest has a great experience. The seafood was great and knowing it was locally caught made it even better. The buttery sauce was rich and packed with flavorful spices that complemented the seafood without overpowering it. Every bite was delicious. Definitely get medium/hot and hot butter on top. And don't forget the bread either! It's freaking delish!!! One of the highlights of our visit was meeting the owner, Kong. This was some of the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. I ordered the steamed crabs. As soon as they arrived, I picked one up and immediately thought, "Wow, this is incredibly light." Anyone who eats crabs regularly knows that's usually a bad sign. When I opened it, it was completely hollow inside--nothing but an empty shell. A crab that is hollow like that was dead before it was cooked. I never took a single bite. I showed it to our server, Remy B., who apologized and said she would let the manager know. She took the plate away, so I assumed the issue was being handled. When the bill arrived, I was still charged for the crabs. I asked to speak with a manager and explained exactly what happened. She confirmed that I had notified the server and that the plate had been taken away. Then she told me that it didn't matter because their policy is to not give refunds or remove food from a check. Let that sink in: they acknowledged that I didn't eat the food, acknowledged that the server removed it, and still charged me for it. A restaurant standing behind its food is the bare minimum. Charging customers for food that was clearly unacceptable and never eaten is ridiculous. The lack of concern from management was even more disappointing than the crab itself. The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because the young man at the host stand was friendly, professional, and the one bright spot of the entire experience. read more

My daughters main goal when we were in New Orleans was to have a seafood boil! I checked Yelp and we decided to go with Boil Seafood House. It was further away than I had anticipated, but we took the on/off bus and got off close to the restaurant and we ubered back. I'm glad we went out of the French Quarter because it was not as busy. Our waitress was very attentive and very knowledgeable and helpful to us as we did not know how to eat the crawfish! We split a 1lb, we opted for the heads off the shrimp (and would opt for that again) and we got medium heat! Everything was AMAZING!!! Every year, we have so much fun during the Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's Day celebrations on Magazine Street. We always make time to stop by this restaurant because the food is consistently delicious. The Cajun seafood boil is excellent, the butter garlic crawfish is incredibly flavorful, and the flame-grilled Dungeness crab with butter seasoning is absolutely amazing. Everything is fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. My kids love eating here, and it's become one of our favorite family traditions during the festival season. Big shrimp boil girl here and knew my last meal of NOLA had to be a big bowl of shrimp. We shared a single pound of head on shrimp with Cajun sauce, medium heat, added corn and potatoes. Flavor was good, nice amount of heat, definitely could've used more sauce for dipping and reapplying. Served with a cold ice tea made a great meal before leaving. Service was very friendly, quick ( luckily beat the lunch and dinner rush coming late afternoon) and easy parking in the area. I liked some parts of our visit to Boil, and there were some drawbacks. First, the positive - The chargrilled oysters were phenomenal! I would order these again in a heartbeat. My husband got the crabcakes, and I tried a bite. These were excellent as well. We got the House boil with Cajun garlic butter seasoning and medium heat. We opted for the headless shrimp, and they were my favorite. The crawfish and sausage were good as well. The snow crab seemed like a waste because I didn't get much meat out of them. The drawbacks were the amount of cayenne used to make the boil medium heat took away from the flavor of the dish. Like that's all I could taste. The corn that came with the boil was disgusting, and neither my husband or I touched it. Finally, we were seated upstairs and the seating was terrible. They only had picnic tables up there, and these tables seemed lower than normal. We were so uncomfortable! Don't let them take you upstairs! read more

This was my first time trying a seafood boil, and my expectations were already high - but this was beyond what I could've imagined. This seafood boil was absolutely incredible. My friend and I ordered a bucket with crabs, shrimp, crawfish, potatoes, and corn with the special Boil House sauce - and it was to die for. The seafood all tasted so fresh, and the sauce was so flavorful and delicious. The potatoes were so soft and even the corn was exceptional. I really appreciated how the place is customizable - we ordered our bucket without sausage, we picked our spice level, and we were able to add on more food afterwards. The place itself has a small, cozy shack-like vibe and is so comforting and makes the experience feel very authentic. The service was amazing - our server was so lovely, she felt like our friend. We had a seafood boil in Nola on our list and we finally got to check it off and boy did we find a great place to do that. It's not very big so make reservations if you can. The service was good, attentive and friendly; answered all of our questions on heat and flavors so we could make the best decision for what we wanted. I even heard another table ask to send back the boil and change the flavor for something different and they were accommodated with no fuss. There's a few tables downstairs as well as some outdoor seating upstairs on the terrace. It's not very quiet, and it's definitely a messy experience (so def not a first date kind of spot). Now let's get to the food! To start the bang bang shrimp were so good! Breaded peeled shrimp drizzled with bang bang sauce packed some heat, just the right amount. We then followed that up with The House bucket, and y'all I was nervous to try the crawfish they were fantastic! Our server even graciously peeled one for us to make sure we did it right and didn't leave any meat behind. Don't be shy get in there, we are getting messy here and we are sucking the heads. It's an experience and we only live once. Snow crab legs were meaty and absolute perfection. So good. The shrimp were nice and plump. Bf loved the corn on the cob while I loved the potato to soak up some of the heat from everything. We got the boil house flavor (which is a combo of the Caribbean, Cajun, garlic butter flavors) and we got it hot (should have gone medium; my lips are still burning as I write this). All in all, this was a terrific spot to have a seafood boil. We won't be here long enough to come back this time but it's on the list to come back next time we are here. read more

We were on foodie vacation around New Orleans and drove to this place to try their version of Chargrilled Oysters and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. I got the blue bayou frozen cocktail, and my husband got the strawberry daiquiri frozen cocktail. Both very good and refreshing. On our first visit, we weren't too hungry, so we got 3 lbs of crawfish and 1 order of corn (comes with 3). Amateur numbers. We got it medium spice in the boil house sauce. They provide a big ol' bucket for you to dump your crawfish shells into, and some gloves and a bib. This is the saucier style of seafood boil, which I got the sense wasn't the "traditional" way things are done here, but as a big fan of seafood boil spots like The Boiling Crab, I was a fan. Also the fact that it was indoors meant fewer flies attacking your food. Our second visit, we got 5 lbs of crawfish with 2 orders of corn, medium spice in the boil house sauce. 10/10 meal. read more

Absolutely the most hostile, disorganized, and unprofessional restaurant experience I have ever had. If I could give zero stars, I would. We had a party of 60 people coming in from out of state and called a WEEK in advance to plan. We were initially told we could reserve the event room and split the bill. When we called back to confirm, the manager (KD) was incredibly rude and suddenly said the entire bill had to be paid by ONE person. She then advised us to cancel the party room and have everyone make individual reservations during the same timeframe if we wanted separate checks, and they would try to seat us near each other. We followed HER instructions exactly. We canceled the room and made multiple reservations through their system, which clearly showed the size of our group days in advance. When we arrived, we were immediately met with attitude and hostility. The hostess (glasses, extremely rude) and manager began berating members of our group, telling us we "created a mess" -- despite the fact that we did exactly what THEY told us to do. Instead of taking responsibility for their poor planning and communication, they blamed us. To make matters worse, they were telling other customers waiting in line that our group was the reason for the delays. Completely unprofessional and embarrassing. We brought significant business to this restaurant and were treated like a problem. Additional issues: * They were aware of the size of our group at least 4 days in advance via their reservation system * Multiple people in our party were told it was MY fault for not wanting to put a 60-person bill on one card * Hostesses refused twice to give me the manager's name * They refused to have the manager come speak with me * I waited 20 minutes for the manager to finally come out * The bartender was the only person willing to provide the manager's name The lack of professionalism was shocking. Blaming customers, refusing to communicate, and openly showing hostility is unacceptable. This was not just poor service -- it was outright disrespectful and embarrassing. Crab- King and Snow- both excellent Crawfish- very good, not fishy at all Shrimp & Clams- I didn't try either but my party said they were good. Etouffee and Gumbo were both excellent and big crowd pleasers. Garlic noodles were OK, nothing special Drinks were also only OK. Not sure of the bartender knew how to make them. Wouldn't order drinks here again but would come back for the food. Tip- the medium heat level is quite the jump from mild. One of our dishes was inedible for a few people at the table.
