Location - Great! Food: very good We got the crab cakes and fish & chips. They were really generous with the crab (not too much filler) and the sauce had a nice tang. The fish & chips were very good as well - the breading was not too thick and it wasn't overly greasy. Both came with fries which were very hot which means they timed things very well in the kitchen! Bottom line: an excellent choice and definitely worth a visit!

Great location, plenty of seating and really friendly service. Food- really good: Smoked Salmon Chowder- superb. Great taste, plenty of seafood Dungeness Crab Cakes- are a must anywhere in this area. Really good taste, nice sear to hold it together and the sauce was a good accompaniment. Fish &Chips- both the fish and the fries were excellent. This fish was the perfect balance of crunch with tender fish. Not greasy or heavily breaded. The fries were hot so they timed our food perfectly. Coleslaw- only negative but it's based on my personal preference. I like a light coleslaw to balance out the fried food. The coleslaw was too rich for that dish and we didn't finish it.

This was an all - on Seafood spot. So,a first ... Fried Oysters. excellent. As good as fried clams. And onion rings and The small bowl of clam chowder was the best on this trip so far and will set the Bar. Lots of clams and diced potatoes , all the same size. Oyster saltine tiny crackers on the side. My wife had a simple Grilled Cheese sandwich on Sourdough with fries. It all was more than we could finish. Shae, our server, really kept tabs on us and had great recommendations. There is no sea or harbor view. That's next door...... But, the decor here was very Nautical with lots of character.

Good spot for a quick drink and some snacks in the afternoon. My friends and I passed by Port Angeles and were feeling a bit hungry. Knowing that the ferry line would be long, we wanted to grab some light food here before grabbing dinner back in Seattle. Hook & Line Pub was perfect for that. We stopped by Sunday around 2:30 and it wasn't busy at all. We were seated in the downstairs area where the bar is. They have a lot of food options, but we opted for a couple cups/bowls of chowder. They offer two kinds: the standard clam chowder but also a smoked salmon chowder that was very intriguing. I had a bowl of the smoked salmon for $11. Also shared chips and salsa for the table for $5. Food was decent. I liked the smoked salmon chowder with the chunks of smoked salmon inside, but next time I think I'll stick to clam chowder as that's my personal fave. However, I was a bit underwhelmed by the salsa, which I'm pretty sure came straight out of a jar, and the chips didn't taste very fresh. Also, one friend ordered a beer and they completely forgot; he didn't get it until we asked them about it maybe 15 minutes after ordering. Still, it was a good place for us to relax for an hour and get some food and drinks in before heading back to Seattle.

Went on a Tuesday evening for dinner. There was at least a 20 min wait + additional 25 min for the food due to the short staffed night. All the staff were very kind, and we weren't in any rush to get our food, however, the starter calamari came out after our mains arrived, so we did not finish this. As for food - This was a solid place for fish and chips and loaded clam chowder! I would skip the calamari next time, as the breading was a little heavy for me.

Poke Bowl! Delicious but needs to have a white rice option.

Stopped in while passing through. The restaurant was super packed so we chose a side by side table on the patio, facing the street. Hostess was on it and brought us water... took about 15 minutes to get a waitress and I had to stop her because she took an order from someone next to us who hadn't been there as long as us and she started walking back in. She was extremely polite and took our order. No other issues service wise during our dinner. Drinks were solid, I ordered the 2 piece cod which was delicious, I even ate most of the fries which I usually waste. GF ordered a poke bowl which was a little spicy but very good. Her only suggestion was to serve it with white rice. Other than that, great place. Decor was nice even though we sat on outside. Obviously popular and earned that. We would eat there again.

Service was great, friendly and attentive. Super excited they have fried cheese curds! They did not disappoint! I got the fish n chips(halibut) & subbed to e fries for a side caesar salad. It was the best fried fish I've had not!! Perfectly breadedmy husband got the fried soft shell crab burger. It was so cute. He also got some fried oysters. This will definitely be a mist stop for us whenever we are in Port Angeles!!

Just stopped by for happy cocktail but obviously a popular hotspot in town. Near the ferry and great Menü with expansive cocktails, beer and wine. Highly recommend

Stellar! Incredible service (shoutout Lynn). Great location. Fun setting. And best of all fantastic food! Our group of 12 stopped in for a late lunch and were immediately seated. Service was prompt and ultra friendly. We had some wild little kids with us which they totally accommodated. As for the food, they have an upscale seafood tavern menu. Perhaps my favorite thing was all of the house made dipping sauses which were 10/10. The seafood platter, shrimp tacos, coconut shrimp, and fish and chips all had great reviews by our fam Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great meal and experience in port Angeles

The best. Absolute best. Courtney is the best waitress - Atmosphere is great! Drinks are good! Not one bad thing about this place. Shrimp and crab melt sandwich 10/10 CLAM CHOWDER 100/10 poké bowl 10/10 Soft shell crab 10/10 Po boy is more like a rich boy. It's huge. Kids loved burger and chicken strips.

The food at this restaurant is definitely 5/5 for this small city/town. My friends and I had some really disappointing food the night before in this town so this restaurant really redeemed it for me. The salad with *Prickly Pear Vinaigrette* is a 10/10 and must try. We made a second order of it after the first one. The fried fish is well seasoned and delicious. The gumbo is really flavorful hearty. And finally, the burger is really cheesy and I loved it, too. Overall experience is a 8/10 because the food takes a very long time to arrive, about 15-20min from ordering, which is a bit too excessively for a fish and chips restaurant.

So happy we came here for lunch during a quick stop in Port Angles. Service staff were all pleasant and the food was spectacular. The sauce on the fish tacos should be bottled and it balanced the slaw so well. The halibut was perfect. I love their take on gumbo, so hearty and packed with flavor.

I'd been checking out this place for a little bit but finally got a chance to give it a try. Tilly the bartender was super nice and very attentive. Happy hour offered $2 off a glass of wine which was a nice bonus. And I have to agree with other reviewers that the fish and chips was excellent. Great, light crispy batter coating on the fish and the fries are phenomenal. So why not five stars? When I walked in, the place smelled divine. Tilly mentioned it was probably the burgers, which she said were excellent. But, sadly, after I'd decided to order one of them, she told me they were out of beef? Mystery: how can it smell so beefy but there's no beef?

Had a great experience at Downriggers on the Water--this place is absolutely worth it for the views…read morealone. If you can sit upstairs, do it. It feels like every seat has a perfect, almost 360 view of the water. One of those spots where you catch yourself staring out the window mid-bite. Our server actually turned out to be from our area, which made for such an easy, fun conversation and added a really personal touch to the experience. The fish was the best I had in Port Angeles--fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for when you're eating right on the water. I also had to grab chicken tenders for the kids (mandatory parenting order), and those were solid too. And the house lemonade? No joke--so good. Also, little tip: they offer a discount if you pay in cash, which is a nice bonus.

No photo because no food.....Shocking experience at Downriggers last night 3/03/2026…read more Having been part of securing group reservations here for a number of years for our bowling group (under the former owner) when we arrived were sent to the little front dining room with horrible acoustics for groups, and when the server eventually came in there were only six of 12 seated, others filtered in over the next 30 minutes or so. My husband ordered a beer and asked if we could please place our dinner order as we had to get home sooner than later...Server caustically remarked only drink orders as she was too busy (being a former bartender and long time server myself I had noticed the large dining room was not crowded) and at least 20 minutes later when she was passing thru again for several more drink orders he asked again about placing our food order and this time she ripped into him, rudely... and informed him she would have to work 10 times harder if she took our food order. I was shocked that she would speak to him in such a unprofessional manner, I told her we had not come in to be snarled at by the wait staff and we got up to leave, she yelled at my husband to just forget the beer cost and we left embarrassed about the scene she created as the rest of our group was arriving. He called this morning to discuss this with the young male manager who proceeded to berate him for the treatment of the server!! and claimed that the group applauded the server after we left ( we spoke to several bowlers that were there and the managers claim was certainly not anything that any of them experienced.....he told my husband we were not welcome to come back and we certainly will not if that is how the restaurant is being ran by the new ownership.
