Coconut shrimp appetizer, tacos, and steak bites...absolutely delicious. I have never had a bad meal here. I highly recommend this!

August 5, 2025 - Port Angeles, WA We had a wonderful dining experience here. We hadn't made a reservation, but timing was on our side. The host found us a table for two on the second floor. Our server, Johnny, was fantastic--friendly, quick, and spot-on with his recommendations. I ordered a prickly pear martini ($15) that was refreshing, while my husband's Old-Fashioned was equally good. For dinner, I chose the Kokopelli Combination ($42), and it was outstanding: perfectly cooked scallops and shrimp in a white wine garlic sauce, grilled salmon, and a crab cake over arugula with garlic lemon basil aioli, served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I'm usually hesitant to order scallops, but these were flawless--tender and full of flavor. At Johnny's suggestion, we shared a bottle of Criss Cross Chardonnay ($27), which paired beautifully with the meal. An excellent dinner all around--we'd happily come back (but next time we will be sure to make a reservation).

We had a delicious meal at Kokopelli's! It's our fifth time here and every time it never disappoints! Jon had a Caesar salad the salmon/shrimp and it was tender and delicious! I had their super decadent fettuccine! The sauce was sublimely delicious! I also really loved the raspberry dressing on my salad and my clam chowder was also on point! Great meal, fantastic views from upstairs and friendly service!

In between 3 and 4 stars for our experience. We made a reservation using their website and the interface they use doesn't seem to provide an email confirmation. Booking multiple weeks in advance of our trip made it difficult to remember our reservation time. We tried to call the day of our meal and didn't get an answer. We ultimately just walked down to the location and after a few minutes saw a hostess that was able to comfirm our time. Upon arriving at the restaurant for our 6pm reservation we were lead to our table after a brief wait. As an aside, I requested, if possible, a view of the waterfront for our meal as it was our 3rd wedding anniversary, sadly, this request went unfulfilled and instead we were seated behind a wall upstairs. After 10 minutes at the table our server arrived, we found it odd she didn't introduce herself. She mentally noted our entire order and we quickly received our first course, smoked salmon chowder and kokonut shrimp...both very good! We also were delivered our entrees with amazing speed shortly after we finished up the first course. Both the crab cakes and the combo were very good. An underrated highlight being the delicious mashed potatoes. Another minor issue was the fact that our server only revisited our table one time to refill our drinks. This is despite "warning" her that I tended to drink a lot of iced tea. She also didn't offer us a dessert at the end of the meal and took quite a long time to deliver and retrieve our check. Food 4-5 stars Service 2-3 stars

Came here on weekday dinner. Not many tables. Sat downstairs since we needed a high chair. Service was attentive and staff were friendly and overshared lol. Food- got the miso black cod which definitely meets the hype. The decadent soft fish was amazing and melt in your mouth. Miso flavoring on point. Every entree comes with soup which can be their famous salmon chowder, a hefty side - garlic mashed potatoes were also decadent. Decent wine selection. I had wanted their house sangria but they didn't have prepared. Ambiance- for nice occasion or date night. But also can go in casual.

Kokopelli. Grill, Port Angeles,WA August 5, 2025 We Came in on a Tuesday night at about 5:30 PM. We did not have reservations, but we got lucky to get a table for two. Others that came in before us with larger groups weren't quite as lucky. It wasn't really too busy yet, but a lot of people had later reservations. Our greeter was a very friendly guy and he got us seated upstairs immediately. Kokopelli is really nicely decorated, with warm imitation brick walls and lots of clean wooden walls, stairs and banister, wooden floors, and modern wooden tables and chairs. Overall, I really liked the feel of the place. We got a table right next to the banister on the second floor looking down over the lower floor, definitely my favorite spot! Our server's name was Johnny, and he was great. He got our drink orders right away. They came out quickly. I got an old-fashioned and my wife got a prickly pear martini. Both drinks were excellent. Johnny took our order when he brought the drinks out. My wife got the Kokopelli combination, which included salmon, scallops, a few jumbo shrimp, a delicious crab cake, and mashed potatoes and cooked broccoli. I ordered the crab cake appetizer that came with a delicious drizzle on top, roasted corn, and sliced avocado. We also ordered a bottle of the Criss Cross Chardonnay on Johnny's recommendation. It was really nice, especially for the price - $27. This is a must stop place if you're in the area. Definitely make reservations though.

Walked in after finding out the other restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. The host indicated that they had a bunch of reservations that night, so I was glad they were able to seat us. We didn't have to wait too long before being seated at a two top on the second floor The smoked salmon chowder was surprisingly good and hearty. The house salad was large enough to share. I loved the combination of queso fresco, chopped pecans and cranberries on top of mixed greens. The black cod wasn't bad. Tender, flakey with the taste of umami savoriness mixed with hints of sweetness. My son opted for the flat iron steak, which was tender and cooked as ordered. It's more of a high-end restaurant, so expect prices to match that vibe.

REALLY great food! We arrived right at dinner opening and sat upstairs at the bar to get a view of the water. We took advantage of the happy hour specials and then split and meal with cheesecake for dessert. Everything we had was amazing, and the service was excellent as well.

A few things to correct your comments: - there were three tables were seated following me and they all got the dishes before me. One table with couple, one with four people and one at the counter. - the note I put on was not to the waitress blunt to you. I said specifically " lady with black shirt". Your tone made me felt that I shouldn't check what is my order status after 30mins wait. We came in around 9:30am Saturday and ordered traditional breakfast with French toast. Waited over 30mins, the later customers all got their dishes and next table finished theirs. When the waitress was checking with kitchen for us, a lady with black shirt came and said: "it normal wait for 30mins and you are 25mins now, still five mins to go". I am a bigger supporter of local small business, but I would appreciate if they can let me know when we arrived that waiting is 30mins after ordered. I still gave 15% tips as I can see the sorry face from the waitress - I normally pay min 20% for small business. I also noticed that we were the only Asian table during that period.

They had to change the syrup for my soda, which took almost 15 minutes. When my soda arrived, it wasn't diet but the sugared version. No attempt made to fix this. When my meal arrived, the scramble ordered with egg whites only had bits of egg shell. I'm not sure how they got there, but it was I little like Russian Roulette as every third bit or so contained a tiny little egg shell piece. It was off putting. The potato hash accompanying the egg shell scramble was too greasy to have. Combine this food with a slightly combative server and you get a terrible and, in my case, unforgivable experience. Zero things went well and all of them went poorly. Breakfast for 2 was 60 bucks plus tip, and it's money I've invested in learning how much I do not care for Chestnut Cottage. 0/5, do not recommend

Me and a group of friends (8 total) were visiting the Olympic peninsula for a camping/backpacking weekend and stopped by Midtown on a busy Friday night and were quickly seated. The food tasted good and we had great service during our visit. Since we were a large group, and already had shared expenses for the weekend, when asked about the check we offered to put everything on one tab to save time. Later on that night however, after we had set up our tents at our campground, my partner began to experience intense stomach pains which turned into full blown food poisoning. I spent the next several hours helping them, before I also got sick. It was at this point we realized that it was from the chicken sandwich my partner had ordered at Midtown, since I had eaten her last remaining bites of the sandwich and this was the only food we shared that other members of our group had not also eaten (we all shared food at lunch earlier in the day). My partner and I essentially spent the night in the campground bathroom (we are extremely lucky they had one). The next morning we were feeling depleted, dehydrated, and decided to head home to recover while the rest of the group continued on the trip. We spent the rest of the weekend trying to get food down. I called Midtown the next business day and let them know what happened for their awareness mostly. They thanked me and told me their policy is a full refund if something like this happens and that the group should expect it soon. We didn't hear from them or get notification of a refund so we reached out a week later and they said they forgot and now the owner would only provide a refund for me and my partner's meals and that they never offered a full refund. They said since we had "12 people" on the ticket they wouldn't do it (our tab for 8 people was $186 before tax and tip) but if we had a doctor's note that could change things. I promised them we weren't making it all up and that I've never gotten food poisoning from a restaurant or even left a bad review before! Tired of the gas lighting I decided it wasn't worth arguing and let them know this will have to be my first. It's a shame their management is unprofessional because our experience in the restaurant with the food and staff was nice.
