The new owners have made such amazing improvements to the restaurant. the staff, food and ambiance is wonderful, I highly recommend it.

The server was very sweet but was getting overwhelmed by only a few tables. The table we sat at had French fries caked into the floor and the booth was wet. The food was atrocious. The sampler appetizer was probably the only thing edible minus the southwest egg rolls. I had the cowboy steak and it was not edible. I got two bites in and had to put it down. The quality of the meat was akin to a Salisbury steak and the taste was off and nauseating. $3.00 for a cup of gravy for some frozen to flash fried French fries and my partners fish was rubbery and the mashed potatoes were coated in congealed gravy. For a place known for its steak and fish or so they claim I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. The server even knows it's bad cause she didn't even ask how things were she just asked if we wanted to try dessert. read more

I've been a returning customer for years. I have my favorite menu items, and they've always been good. And that's why I drive out of my way to have a meal at Traylor's. New owners arrived about 6 months ago, they said they wouldn't change anything at the family-owned restaurant has been successful and loved by the community for over 50 years. Well guess what? They changed many things, raised the prices and they nickel and dime you to death. Newer servers seem frustrated and exhausted. Mad me feel bad for making her work just by being there. I ordered a mid rare steak and received a raw steak when it was sent back the steak was well done. Then I waited for another attempt and my wife was done eating already. So I asked for it to go. When we got home once again the steak was raw. The service from our waitress was awesome. But we could hear the waitress and the cook arguing about the steak. Very displeased with the quality of the food. But the service was great. Idk if we will be back. We hope if we do the next time the quality of the food is better. read more

Traylor's has an old school feel with its dining counter, dining room and lounge that encourages you to relax. It has a vibe that would be right at home with the characters in the old "Twin Peaks" tv show. I recently stopped in for lunch after having been out of the area for about 10 years and it seems that time has not moved on here at all. That's a good thing though as the menu still has good solid American diner food here. Great place for a burger or fish and chips or something else to warm you up on a cold Pacific Northwest day. The food was good. My only issue was the service and the prices. We got there and there was no host. They told us just to sit anywhere. Okay then, I've never been to a restaurant that let's us choose where we sit. Took 5 minutes to find a place to sit. Restaurant is small and it was a bit crowded since it was dinner time. Once we had a seat, it took over 10 minutes to flag a waitress to take our drink order. And you only get one free refill, that's not fair when the drinks are $4-5 each. It was hard getting anyone's attention when we needed things to be refilled or to order more food. The service is terrible. A little too pricey for the bad service that we received. This one is hard; but it has to be written. I was SO proud when my husband & I saw their pic & newspaper write-up & couldn't wait to help support another minority business. But THEY DON'T WANT BLACK CUSTOMERS! The waitress was rude, condescending, discourteous, & time-deficient that MORNING as soon as we walked in & REFUSED us a breakfast menu after admitting she didn't know what time it was (we noted it was still morning)! They just didn't want us there. Sadly, we know that feeling all too well. So we were compelled to leave; just as history dictates we should. The fact is; we can't assume our brethren anymore. And Traylor's seem to be trying to cater to a VERY SPECIFIC clientele. Apparently CG from Auburn Alabama gets it & he most appreciates it! & I hadn't even read his review before I wrote/posted mine. We had dinner twice at Traylor's, and the food is consistently very good. My wife loved the steak and baked potato. I enjoyed the chicken fried steak dinner. On the next evening, we enjoyed the seafood pasta, and the fish and chips are some of the best I have ever eaten. The service was good too. Trailers is under new management. Honestly, the place seemed cleaner than the first time I went in under the old owner. The waitress was so sweet. We ask her what she recommended. She said everybody loved the fish and chips... And so did we! We are Port Angeles residence and try the fish and chips everywhere. It always comes with coleslaw. We opted for tater tots rather than fries. They were great. The coleslaw was better than other restaurants in town that will remain unnamed. It was delicious. The dinner plate came with five small to medium pieces. But the fish was a good chunk of fish, that was tender and tasty. They make their own cocktail sauce in house, and it has a nice kick to it. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and it felt like home. We had two drinks from the bar which were great! We then ordered the French dip.. and I am a French dip snob, this was hands down the BEST. The Ajou sauce was perfect, not too salty, and the bread was soft and just so good. My husband had the clam chowder which he rated a 10/10, they provided oyster crackers AND saltines. To top it off, we had the berry cobbler with ice cream and it was phenomenal! My husband used to stop here as a child and it had the same vibe, old school booths and atmosphere! The staff were all friendly and seemed happy to be at work. We really wanted to love this place as the reviews were good and it appears to be a favorite for the locals. The old lunch counter is cool...reminds me of the 13 Coins restaurant. The wait staff was very nice...but super slow. The place wasn't busy and it took a long time to get our food. The food came out hot...and it was fine....nothing over the top. The biggest complaint is cleanliness. The booth's are long last past their life and are filthy....the entire restaurant needs a good bath and or updating. read more

Avoid at all costs!!!! Stopped at Traylors for dinner after a long day on 8/29/25. Worst dining experience I have had in decades. I ordered the walnut salad and asked for no cheese, and I ordered a baked potato. My wife ordered chicken fried steak. After an hour, we had to ask where our food was. The reply was "sorry, there was a large ticket before yours". If you cannot serve customers in a reasonable time, maybe hire some workers. Food arrived. Salad heaped with a half pound of feta cheese and no baked potato. I pointed out I had asked for no cheese on the salad. Server snatches salad off table and returns in 5 minutes with the same salad but the cheese obviously picked off and cheese crumbs left on it. Brings out a baked potato that tasted like it was burnt on the outside. Chicken fried steak was obviously not fresh but reheated. No water refills were offered and we were there for an hour and fifteen minutes. How this place is still in business is absolutely beyond my comprehension. I would rather have had Campbells tomato soup and peanut butter and crackers. If I could give this place negative 100 stars I would do it. Avoid at all costs. read more

Fish and chips are 5*, hands down the best fish & chips in town. Service is great, and the restaurant has a great old school diner feel. Do not order one of their cocktails. I give this place 2 stars because they had a good salad and alright service. When being sat, they had a table to fit 6 in the back, but they tried putting us at 2 different tables instead of scooting a 2 top table to a 4 top. Thought that was odd. When the girl that sat us back there saw we moved the table, she rolled her eyes. My aunts chair was dirty and asked if it could be wiped off , girl said Yep and walked off. Came back and just smeared whatever it was left on the seat with a dry rag. Asked for a different server because she was going to be our server and we said no to that. She already had an attitude and we hadn't even ordered our drinks yet. The other lady was very nice. Just about the only reason I didn't give this place a 1 star. I ordered the fettuccini alfredo and added shrimp to it. It was alright. The alfredo sauce was watered down. Could tell they didnt let the noodles run some of the water off before putting it in the sauce. It was served with a soup or baby shrimp salad. I chose the salad and got thousand island dressing with it. The thousand island dressing was homemade and actually really good. They had the smallest shrimp I have ever seen on the salad. Was a good size salad though. Overall though I was not impressed with this place. Oh and when leaving, since we're from the south, we tried saying have a good night to that girl that gave us attitude in the beginning and she just frowned and didn't say anything back. Which just made our decision not to have her as our server the right choice. She missed out to because when we go places as a group of 6, we tip really well because we know it takes a little more time to help a group our size. We decided to try this place because it was close to where we were staying and it was still open later. Our experience was pretty uneventful. The waitress told us the best steak was the flat iron, which we order. It was OK. Cooked a medium rare like we asked and not super tough. Charbroil taste. Came with a loaded baked potato. The potato tasted like it was really old and being disguised with a bunch of toppings. Would not order that again. We had a Dungeoness crab salad. The crab was tasty and there was a good amount of it. Pretty fresh. The salad was just lettuce with a couple of tomatoes. Not memorable. Overall just an OK experience.
