The staff was great and polite but Im giving them a one star based on who I assume the owner was. I was getting my coffee which was good and when I was soon to leave I saw the owner lash out at multiple employees. I can't decide if I liked the cake donut or the soft and fluffy brioche donuts more, but my two favorites were the dirty chai and pear crisp so I guess brioche had a slight edge up. Came here after finding it on TikTok & it is def worthy of a visit! I had the golden mylk latte, which was so creamy & flavorful. I also had the bacon, egg & cheese and it was sooo good! The buns and egg were sooo fluffy, the bacon was crispy & the cheese & sauce were soft & flavorful. I also tried the potato waffle & omg it is a must! Had a craving for a Belly-Bullet fix on a chilly Wednesday morning vacation day in Santa Barbara. I was traveling with my pair of Hooligans, and a stop at Hook & Press seemed like just the ticket. Arriving here I had no problem finding parking; my luck continued when I found that there was no line - weekdays are the best days to check out new places :-) There were plenty of tables both inside and out, so I took a seat inside to figure out a good batch of donuts to try. The location is clean and well-maintained, and the donuts looked nothing short of amazing - decisions, decisions... After waiting for coffees to wash our donuts down with, we dug in and tried the donuts. The flavors were unusual and tasty, the service was relaxed and attentive, and we throughly enjoyed the experience. I must confess though that I was a bit disappointed with the weight and texture of the donuts; they weren't fluffy and light like the donuts I'm used to - these had a consistency closer to bread than anything else. Despite the unexpected consistency, it wasn't hard to get attached to a couple of the donut flavors. There is always a line but it moves quickly. There is seating outside as well so it's not too difficult to find a spot to sit down if dining in. The coffee is pretty good but the donuts/sandwiches are definitely the star of the show. My fiancé and I tried the Dark Chocolate Mint Wreath (Christmas seasonal) and Browned Butter donuts which were unique flavors for donuts and were delicious. I must also recommend the Bacon Egg and Cheese Sandwich if you are craving a breakfast for savory, but they do have an option to use glazed Donuts for buns if you'd like to stay on brand with the donut menu. Otherwise, the brioche bun makes it just as tasty. Very glad we were able stop by as last year they were closed in between Christmas and new years.
