May have just been bad timing...but in the 15 minutes we ate our semi decent fried seafood & hushpuppies, a lady in a red shirt I assume is the manager was rude on three occasions to her two staff. Be nice, lady. No one wants to say "yes chef" to you, or whatever reply you were demanding. I get it, people have bad days. Just don't let your customers hear you. We were all feeling bad for your crew members. PS - Spend some money on Heinz ketchup. No one wants knockoff ketchup. And your fried clams were meh. *your response is ridiculous. I was there. Hooks haven't changed in years. The food has always tasted the same at this location. My go to order is fried chicken wings and fries. The white seasoning is the icing on the cake here. I prefer this chicken over a lot of other chicken spots. Happy there is a chain Hooks down west! Service is great, never had a bad experience. read more

This place is great. Meals are cooked to order ensuring that the food is piping hot and fresh. The fish and chips was excellent and my wife enjoyed chicken wings and rice and beans. Probably the most professional hooks I have ever been to. The lady on the phone was pleasant, patient and offered me so many other options that I didn't even mind spending the extra money. It was all worth it. The food was really fresh and tasted great. My little people love the wings so I bought a 20 count wing along with a fish dinner for myself. First time having food from this place so I ordered over the phone as I had a few questions about the menu. The lady who took my order was super nice and patiently answered my questions. She even helped me by suggesting a cost effective way to add Fried Conch to my order cause I wanted to try it based on the reviews. Ordered was ready on time and quick pick up. Pulled up next to the orange cones and she brought it right out. She was very friendly too. The reg fried chicken wings, Fried Conch, Fried Shrimp, Fried Snapper Filet, and fries was all lightly battered with the perfect crispness yet tender on the inside and flavorful. Portion size was large too. The wings was my favorite item. I like there various sauces and worth trying all of them. My mom said her yellow rice with black beans was really good too. After a trip to the beach, we stopped for something specific (fried gizzards and fried livers for my grandparents) but I was impressed by other items. This is probably the third time I'm doing a pickup from up order from this restaurant (Belvedere location). It's usually always good, fresh, and hot. I got the six wing dinner to share with my dad. After plating it and digging in my dad found a hair in his food. I did not take a picture of this as we were eating. I was disappointed. When I called to place the order I asked if they were allowing patrons inside for pickup and was told no because they are renovating. This is one downside of curbside pickup anywhere, you are not able to assess the interior for cleanliness and sanitation practices. Granted this can happen anywhere. I would probably still order again but I would be nervous about referring anyone. I saw someone recently commented on the same issue. read more

From out of town and was first time trying them and they asked if we wanted seasoning, of course who doesn't want seasoning? Big mistake, seasoning was lemon pepper seasoning on everything, fries, fish shrimp and chicken. So make sure you ask for seasoning on the side. Hook is a small, well run, family operated business. The Snapper was cooked properly in a light but crunchy cornmeal breading. They have a good assortment of condiments, but ask for the conch sauce (I loved it with the shrimp). Mozzarella sticks were on point and they do have marinara for them as well. Tip: The plaza they're in is a little weird to enter/exit. If heading east on Belvedere, turn in where you see the sign for Noland and proceed east toward Sansburys. If you're coming from any other direction, take the left turn just west of Sansburys on Belvedere (again, where you see the sign for Noland) , as there is NO other way to enter plaza. I've eaten here many times and committed to support Black owned businesses. I'm sad to say this was a bad day for them. I ordered snapper the old and very smelly taste was unbearable. I called and just asked for a credit because I didn't want to drive back as that is inconvenient. The manager said no their policy is to get the food back. This is the second time that we've eaten from Hook Fish & Chicken, and it doesn't disappoint! We ordered delivery with this meal since we were experiencing some pretty bad weather. I liked how the bags were sealed shut so that no one could get into anything. The food was delicious! I had the catfish fillets with rice and beans, my wife had the conch and shrimps, and my boys had the chicken tenders. We, also, had onion rings and jalapenos poppers to share. All the food was great. The only thing was that it was a little cold when it arrived. The sauces and spices that they offer were terrific! They have their own spice blend that really brings out the flavors of all the food. Hook Fish & Chicken has definitely become a favorite of ours to visit. read more

I had been to the original Hook over on Palm Beach Lakes and Tamarind plenty of times, so my expectations for this location were based largely on those (generally positive experiences. I did not realize that this was independently operated by a different family however, and they seem to be doing a terrific job. We tried them for the first time on a Saturday night and had some difficulty figuring out how to access the plaza but shortly found our way in. They were doing brisk business when we placed our orders and continued getting busier. My girlfriend and I ordered family dinners with snapper and grouper which came with fries. My friend ordered 10 piece fried chicken wings. About 20 minutes later (which was what they'd estimated it would be), our food was ready. It was worth every minute of the wait and then some. The fish was pErfect! Both the snapper and group were cooked just rightt (grouper often gets overcooked by some places in my experience), so tender with a delicious golden batter. French fries were on point too. My friend's wings were huge and very tasty as well. We were impressed with the size of the wings in particular. I think their portions make the meals a great deal considering how good the food is. So bottom line, superior to original location and very good food. Definitely will be back. read more

i would recommend you eat there. Its not comfortable BUT if you take it home it will be soggy by then. Mine was. The onion rings tuff, not crispy! Im sad about it because THEY are very nice. The place is nicer that further east in WBP. BUT the taste is NOT as good, sorry, not even close as good. Even the powdery seasoning doesn't taste the same at all. Is it actually a different flavour? We ordered two chicken wing dinners- flavored honey hot with fried Mac & cheese & fried chicken wings with mozzarella sticks. Not only are the side options delicious the honey hot sauce was perfect.
