Probably the most professional hooks I have ever been to. The lady on the phone was pleasant, patient and offered me so many other options that I didn't even mind spending the extra money. It was all worth it. The food was really fresh and tasted great. My little people love the wings so I bought a 20 count wing along with a fish dinner for myself. The lady offered dessert so I bought the banana pudding. It's not your homemade kind but I didn't mind supporting the business.

First time having food from this place so I ordered over the phone as I had a few questions about the menu. The lady who took my order was super nice and patiently answered my questions. She even helped me by suggesting a cost effective way to add Fried Conch to my order cause I wanted to try it based on the reviews. Ordered was ready on time and quick pick up. Pulled up next to the orange cones and she brought it right out. She was very friendly too. The reg fried chicken wings, Fried Conch, Fried Shrimp, Fried Snapper Filet, and fries was all lightly battered with the perfect crispness yet tender on the inside and flavorful. Portion size was large too. The wings was my favorite item. I like there various sauces and worth trying all of them. My mom said her yellow rice with black beans was really good too. Overall great experience. Will definitely order again.

This is probably the third time I'm doing a pickup from up order from this restaurant (Belvedere location). It's usually always good, fresh, and hot. I got the six wing dinner to share with my dad. After plating it and digging in my dad found a hair in his food. I did not take a picture of this as we were eating. I was disappointed. When I called to place the order I asked if they were allowing patrons inside for pickup and was told no because they are renovating. This is one downside of curbside pickup anywhere, you are not able to assess the interior for cleanliness and sanitation practices. Granted this can happen anywhere. I would probably still order again but I would be nervous about referring anyone. I saw someone recently commented on the same issue.

Battered grouper with a side of cheesy grits!

Place your order online, receive the text, Your order at Hook Fish is ready!" Get in that car pickup line, within minutes, piping hot, well seasoned seafood, that will stay hot till you get home! Get yourself a little side of battered mushrooms and/or hush puppies to nosh on as you drive home. Careful now, that juicy hot mushroom will burn y'a! My faves, fried shrimp, battered grouper, and cheesy grits (is it margarine or butter flavor in them, don't know, they're good, just a bit different, only need a little salt). Oh and don't forget the fried okra! Don't be disappointed that you only get one side, I can never eat it all! Hooks, thanks for being open and feeding us through the Pandemic!

I ordered the clam strips, catfish nuggets and okra. I enjoyed the okra but the clam strips were so salty that I couldn't enjoy them...The catfish nuggets were ok. I say ok because I couldn't enjoy them after consuming so much sodium from being hungry. I plan to try again and request the salty seasoning on the side. My order was a delivered order.

Hush puppies, crab cake & Conch fritters. Love this place!

Conch Fritters... divine. So glad we have two locations now! Wellington is happy to have you closer now!

#2 Snapper dinner with shrimp and mozzarella sticks instead of fries. Woooorth it.
    James Y.

Hook is a small, well run, family operated business. The Snapper was cooked properly in a light but crunchy cornmeal breading. They have a good assortment of condiments, but ask for the conch sauce (I loved it with the shrimp). Mozzarella sticks were on point and they do have marinara for them as well. Tip: The plaza they're in is a little weird to enter/exit. If heading east on Belvedere, turn in where you see the sign for Noland and proceed east toward Sansburys. If you're coming from any other direction, take the left turn just west of Sansburys on Belvedere (again, where you see the sign for Noland) , as there is NO other way to enter plaza. Go give them a shot and use cash if possible. Support local businesses doing it right!

The menu has a lot of comfort food like options. For mains, we had the mini "Big" Brekkie (fried hard), Fish and Chips, and Mushroom Toast. They were good. The payment was a bit glitchy. Diner Review: A Sunny Saturday Delight Date: Saturday,…read more11/2025 Time: 7:15 - 8:25 AM Weather: Sunny Ambiance: Walking into this diner felt like stepping into a cozy retreat with a charming twist of nostalgia. The venue boasts a retro counter, cozy booth seating, and numerous tables, making it an inviting spot for folks of all mobility levels. Although we aren't physically challenged, the easy navigation impressed us. The abundant windows let in a flood of sunlight, perfect for those with vision challenges. When we arrived, the place was pleasantly quiet, but by the time we left at 8:15 AM, it turned into a bustling hub! Ah, the magic of daylight savings--proof that a week later, everyone's still waking up at the crack of dawn for cracked eggs! Service: Upon entering, we were greeted with the freedom to sit wherever our hearts desired--a rare treat! The staff was plentiful, with servers, runners, and bus staff dancing around like a well-choreographed musical number. Our main waitress, Payton, was exceptional--accommodating and patient, especially since it was our first visit. Each time we needed extra napkins or a coffee refill, staff members swiftly responded as if they had been trained to anticipate our needs. Everyone radiated friendliness--no disgruntled faces here! Even amidst a mini waitress convention in front of the beverage area, the camaraderie among the staff was evident, all while keeping an eye on customer needs. It's nice to see people enjoying work instead of treating it like a chore! Food: Now onto the pièce de résistance! For my order, I sought Payton's expert guidance on a hybrid egg dish. I decided on the Taylor Ham pork roll, complete with cheddar and a fried egg, all nestled in a toasted croissant, accompanied by crispy hash browns. Let's just say, my taste buds were throwing a party! As for my husband, he ordered a Swiss omelette with home fries. He described it as "underwhelming," but I suspect it was simply a texture issue; I make my omelettes a bit fluffier and filled to bursting, while Southern Kitchen opts for a thinner, crepe-like style. Despite his mixed feelings about the omelette, the hash browns won his heart, and the coffee was served hot and flavorful--essential for any successful breakfast outing! Value: For two hearty breakfasts and two delightful coffees, the bill tallied up to $31 before gratuity. Average $15 a head. Not bad! Will We Be Back?: Absolutely! With the promise of a succulent egg sandwich, endless piping hot coffee, and stellar service, we're ready to add Southern Kitchen to our lineup. Who could resist that!

I decided to give this place a second chance on April 18, 2026, with an 8:30 PM reservation, and unfortunately, it was just as bad--if not worse--than my first visit. The service was exceptionally poor. Our waiter, Michael, set the tone early, and not in a good way. It took over an hour just to receive our appetizers, and drink refills required tracking down other staff members. What stood out most was the complete lack of attentiveness--Michael never once checked in on our table throughout the evening. The delay was so excessive that I was able to leave the restaurant, walk across the street, purchase a new set of clothes for my daughter, return, and have her change--all before our main course even arrived. To be clear, this wasn't out of convenience--it was out of necessity. The restaurant was so excessively hot that she was visibly uncomfortable and overheating. To make matters worse, water was served at room temperature in what felt like a furnace of a dining room. We actually had to ask multiple times--and essentially beg--just to get ice brought to the table. That alone speaks volumes about the level of awareness and care. Dining out is supposed to be a relaxing, enjoyable experience--especially after an evening out--but this was anything but. The food itself was underwhelming at best: mediocre, forgettable, and certainly not worth the wait. What was most disappointing, however, was the apparent inconsistency in service. From my observation, certain tables--specifically white families--received noticeably more attention and care, while others, including Hispanic, Asian, and African-American patrons, were largely overlooked. As part of an interracial family, this was both disheartening and unacceptable to witness. I've had great experiences at other locations of this restaurant, which makes this visit even more frustrating. This location, however, falls far below standard. To the management and staff: you're in a high-traffic area where guests come to unwind and enjoy their time. This experience did the exact opposite. One star--and that's only because it was possible to secure a reservation. Now I understand why availability wasn't an issue. TL;DR: Excessive heat, inattentive service, long wait times, mediocre food, and a deeply disappointing overall experience. I will not be returning.

Ambiance: beautiful bar, nice facility…read more Food: cannot report on food as we waited nearly a hour and a half after the water was poured until we informed server that we were leaving. Manager arrived and was really a lovely woman who offered to comp all four meals which we declined. She then offered to pack everything to go for free which we also declined. Won't be returning to the City Cellar anytime soon!
