Same as before, this place didnt disappointed us. The shrimp, crabs, chowderfries, scallops... wait, I think you should try everything if your wallet allows you, and you will thank me later. A must too if you can is to get the swordfish in sandwich... my preference.

doesn't get any better freshest seafood right off the boat dockside dinner & a view at its finest very focused and deliberate menu too, most appreciated seafood at the center, straightforward application chowder blackened swordfish (caught that day) jersey sweet corn last crab cake that night (come early) BYOB, but they also sell wine (dealer's choice) enjoy

Friendly staff and the food was really good. We had seafood bisque and John Dory fish tacos blackened/seared. Thanks!

Off the beaten path, literary 3 blocks away from out rental. The seared swordfish and flounder filet were DELICIOUS Great price for the fresh fish. We loved it, Great atmosphere and friendly , quick service.

This is the first seafood "shack" you see as you enter The Wildwoods, so I think they can get away with charging such high prices. Nearly our most expensive meal of our trip. Our food was good, but we got it at all different times. So we weren't even really eating together. And unfortunately the hot weather amplified the stink of the seafood garbage. On days like that maybe they should gather the garbage periodically and take somewhere away from the eating area. I watched several groups move from the smelliest spot. I did really enjoy my little neck clams. The broth was super tasty. And the bread didn't even need butter on it, because it got totally dunked in the delicious liquid. Boys tackled 50 peel n eat shrimp with delight. Hubby had fried shrimp. One other suggestion - add a beer option. Hubs ended up with some weird cherry alcohol drink 'cause he was ready for an adult beverage. Refreshing beer would have been better.

Blackened Swordfish Steak & Fried Flounder Tacos

Driving by yesterday, I commented "I bet that's a great place!" In returning to Wildwood today, we stopped off just before they opened at 4:00. We could tell immediately that this is where the locals come. A lot of the staff knew their customers and vice versa. They kindly offered us samples of each chowder and were all very personable. We had the blackened swordfish, fried flounder tacos, corn on the cob and settled on the seafood chowder. Truly a wonderful ocean to table experience casually conducted at some bench tables back at the stern of the fishing boat and near the fish cleaning station.

These people got it right. Amazing seafood, beautiful bayside views & super friendly staff. A perfect date night spot

Looking for DELICIOUS, FRESH seafood? Look No further, don't make that same mistake that my wife and I did, which was drive past this place multiple times, before finally stopping for lunch! It's no frills, BYOB, but great quality seafood, caught fresh, and well prepared! I'll be back during every visit to Cape May!

I can't understand how this place gets such good ratings. The seating is hot and uncomfortable. The food is overpriced. Yes, the seafood is fresh. It is fun to arrive via boat for lunch.

Quick ordering and very friendly staff but it was just ok. Everything tasted fresh but why the high prices for no frills operation. The crab corn chowder was delicious. The mahi mahi sandwich only came fried and was thick so center was only lightly cooked and served with lettuce, tomato and premade tarter sauce.

Are you looking for fresh seafood? This is the place where you can get fresh fish like tuna, swordfish and John Dory. A family run business with the Best seafood in the area. They have a full menu, as well as clams, shrimp & crabs. The best is that they have outdoor picnic tables on the water, and you can bring your own beer and wine! Make sure you grab a T-shirt on your next visit too! Enjoy :)

This is an automatic if I'm anywhere near it. If I'm in WW I go multiple times. Honestly, if I've got a day I don't mind the drive from Philly because that's just how good it is!

We loved it here and definitely would come back. We searched comprehensively for a special dinner…read moreexperience for our last night in Cape May, and initially we were taken aback because we could not get a reservation before 7pm on a pre-season Tuesday in May. So we went early (no problem being seated around 5:30 or so, but it did seem full an hour later) and were we ever rewarded. Everything was simply perfect, including Vicki, our veteran and down to earth waiter. When we are unsure of things, she provided expert guidance with kindness and wisdom. The mussels appetizer are an experience not to be missed - save the bread for lapping up its saucy juice. My wife loved the pork chop - its huge and she took half home for lunch. I devoured the blackened fish of the day over bok choy. Both simply were outstanding. If/when again in Cape May again, we'd certainly come back. With a reservation!

Dinner so nice, I ate there twice…read more Grab a seat near the fireplace and enjoy one of the most cozy spots in town. The first night I boldly chose the Croquet Madame pizza. I'm a sucker for a good thin crust, and this did not disappoint. Everything about the pizza was sublime. Even hours later when I heated up the remaining slices at the hotel, it continued to be a palate-pleaser. Second night, round two: I love a good turkey club but I would've willingly sold my right pinky for one this good. I nearly had to unhinge my jaw to bite into this beast. I again met my match and had to take half of it to-go. Did I have it later that night? No! I popped open that tray for a breakfast club the next morning and the flavour never missed a beat. Make this place a sure stop when you are in town!

We had such a nice dinner, I had to update my review. We come to Lobster House from time-to-time…read morethroughout the year. We figured we would get in an off-season dinner before the crowds come and that we did! We arrived just before they opened at 415 and hung out at the bar for a few minutes. Dinner is served at 430pm! The bar is open, so you can get drinks while you wait if you like. There is a full service bar and you can order from a plentiful wine and spirits menu. Our awesome server for our early dinner was Trisha, and she could not have been more hospitable! She was very personable, attentive and provided excellent service! She was just a delight. I ordered the Flounder special which was delicious - - each element in the dinner was great - and you can see all my coordinating photos. The dinner comes with a nice fresh -chilled salad and of course, the yummy hot, fresh onion bread! The flounder was cooked to perfection and those Fried String Beans, kinda like french fries were really good and very creative. They came with a nice "Petal Sauce" that is going to have me coming back again! Thank you, Trisha and Lobster House for a great pre-season dinner. It's nice to have the whole restaurant to yourself without the crowds! Get there before Memorial Day weekend for a nice treat! There's also an incredible fresh fish market attached where you can get anything and everything from a fish market you ever dreamed about. They also have a decadent area with so many drool-worthy desserts that you can take out along with your seafood. All in all, Lobster House is a great local favorite that has consistently great seafood and service.

Over the years I've had my share of great getaway meals at The Lobster House in timeless Cape May…read more It's a tradition you want to start earlier in life, so you can one day look around and watch as a new generation starts creating those lifelong memories of lively dinners out on the peer. It gives you a whole new appreciation for it, for how it's been able to not only last and stay pretty much the same across decades, making the nostalgia hit just a bit harder. People who have aversion to crowds probably read that and think I'm insane, and I wouldn't blame you. I can't think of a time when that place isn't a mad house. It's frantic, there are multiple queues all over the place, people are shouting, fish is flying, tables are being sniped. There's always some parent yelling at their kid or in-law to get over to some table 100 yards away they just happened to see open up. You have half a dozen poor grandmas sitting at a table all alone, feeling the pressure. The pressure and eyes of every other family waiting for a table bearing down on them. So yes, for certain people, every visit would be a nightmarish hell. Like think about the introverted pescatarians, they must be completely torn on this place. Even with the prominent signage, it's easy to get disoriented in the market-style layout. One time I waited 15 minutes for a softshell crab sandwich in front of a parking validation kiosk. Just remember there are two sets of bathrooms, one near the entrance and one lesser used one in the back. That is one benefit of sitting farther down the pier and not feeling bad about it. There is no such thing as a bad seat at TLH. Eventually once I did locate my softshell crab sandwich, I enjoyed it's soft, crab-like texture. Well, enjoyed is a strong word. Let's just say that will be my first and definitely last time I ever order softshell crab. I like crab, but, while soft, I do not enjoy the texture of the shell. It's like these thin sheets of leather strips. It's probably my fault, it's not like it's called "no shell" crab, but I think maybe they overdo it with the "soft" angle. Anyways, once I pivoted to a classic burger, all was well again. And I got more of those bangin' thick-cut steak fries. On this particular visit my two companions got an assortment of crab claws, fried calamari, clams casino, and the rest of my softshell crab, so yeah, everyone did pretty well for themselves. Also snagged a prime table right in the thick of things, on the pier in front of The Schooner, which doubles as a sailing vessel and outdoor cocktail lounge. Just another fine summer memory to look back fondly on.
