This place is a bit off the beaten path and only offers outdoor seating. I like the burgers and fries and they are above average for sure. The only issue I had, was that we had to wait for a long time, like 25 minutes for 3 burgers and a steak. I would say price is reasonable but not the cheapest. A regular burger is $5.75. read more

Honest, good business person Ended up here after exploring the stock yards in search of vegetarian food :-) Our son ordered a vegan bean burger with a shake and I ordered an Indian Taco with a shake. we discussed with the cashier and she said they could try to make the Taco vegetarian, so we customized it. Few minutes later, the owner/manager walked up to us and discussed what we meant by vegetarian as she had overheard the conversation. She went on to honestly inform us that the Taco is fried in lard and so are onion rings and anything that is fried. she proceeded to give us the choice to cancel the order and offered a full refund. we had a nice conversation about her genuine efforts to be aware and understand as a business owner what being vegetarian meant to different customers. we cancelled the taco and onion rings. shakes were great and so was the vegan burger. In a place/area that is truly for meat lovers, we did not expect much vegetarian food - fair enough. However what impressed us was the honesty and integrity of this lady. while we will not be going back, sending this message out in the universe to send other good customers to this business. The food was decent, but I would not visit Hookers again. We got here at 2:00 pm on a Saturday in March, ordered two burgers and two Indian tacos and it took almost an hour and a half to get our food. The speaker that they use to call your name when your order is ready kept cutting out so you couldn't hear what name they were calling. Finally, after seeing some people who ordered after us get their food, I decided to go up to the pick-up window and ask if I had missed my name being called. I got a very rude response from the lady cooking who said to me "we know how everything works around here!" Extremely rude and definitely not worth a 90 minute wait for a hamburger. read more

Yes. If you're here, you're right. This is the best place to get a burger in Fort Worth. We (me, and my bandit crew of locals) come here for anniversaries and birthdays, and normal days, too. I like to think I'm buddies with the owner, she is so nice - and almost every time, is the one who personally takes our order. Hookers Grill is an award winning establishment for a REASON! Honestly, I would choose Griff's Hamburgers over this place anyday for both price and taste. Now for the true reason for the very low rating... When I first received my burger, they forgot to put my jalepenos on it. I took my burger back to the friendly lady at the window. She apologized and continued to add jalepenos to my burger. Only she didn't wash her hands or put on gloves. But she opened my burger with her bare fingers, grabbed the jalepenos out of the large container (which I'm sure they get everyone's jalepenos out of) with her bare fingers, and then placed the jalepenos on my burger with her bare fingers. Two burgers and one bacon fry plus two drinks....the fries while had good seasoning there was several that were so brittle I could barely bite them in half to chew. Great little joint for a quick bite! We come to Ft Worth once or twice a year for a show at Billy Bob's. We woke up starving and searched for best burgers in the area. Found Hookers which was within walking distance from our hotel. It's an outdoor spot. You walk up to a window and order and there is double-decker seating just out front. Only a few tables on each level but both are protected from the elements. (It was raining) I If the gal who took our order wasn't an owner, I sure hope they are compensating her well! Super friendly and helpful! I ordered their "regular" burger. Fried onions (not deep-fried, more like sauteed!), mustard and pickles. It was very tasty and hit the spot! Hubs ordered the same, only dbl and plus cheese and jalapenos. The burgers are not "pretty". I would call them smash burgers. Fresh beef just smashed on the grill. We also ordered a side of fries to split. Fries are fresh-cut shoe-string and were very good other than that they were too salty. I put salt on just about everything, but they just had too much. After brushing off excess salt, they were great. We were looking for a bite before the show last night. This would have been perfect, but glad we found it for today! Cons: limited seating A bit pricey ($30 for 2 burgers, 1 fries, 2 dom beers and I was still a bit hungry and I'm a small gal) Pros: Tasty, FRESH food! Y'all never judge a book by its cover! So we drove by this place last night and at first was like umm no. Then after driving around more we decided on a different one. So we park our car behind Hookers. And we asked the parking attendant if the place we were going to was good. He said yes but pricey. So when we look at each other we decided on Hookers. Y'all, it was delicious. Staff was super friendly. Food was hot. The people watching was great. When are in town come to Hookers. The french fries where wrinkly soft with a bit of crunch. Didn't even need ketchup. I cannot wait to go again. Alright, fine, I got no problem going with the crowd on this place. It's pretty damn good and I ain't going to be the first non five star review. It certainly deserved it anyway from my visit. Went in for lunch awhile back, had read about it, and intrigued by the burger type. Just cut to the fine print here, I got the described "Oklahoma style onion burger" with cheese, and an order of fries. Grabbed a drink and sat down on a nice day to a short wait. I thought it was a really good cheeseburger, onions grilled into/with the burger patty, mustard and pickles. I'm happy to try almost any burger, and this needed nothing else. Mustard and meaty goodness. Fries were hand cut, crisp, seasoned, and pretty fantastic. Anyway, not much else to say. Owners were friendly and helpful. I don't get over to the Stockyards very often, but if I did, this would easily be a regular stop. read more
