Alright, fine, I got no problem going with the crowd on this place. It's pretty damn good and I ain't going to be the first non five star review. It certainly deserved it anyway from my visit. Went in for lunch awhile back, had read about it, and intrigued by the burger type. Just cut to the fine print here, I got the described "Oklahoma style onion burger" with cheese, and an order of fries. Grabbed a drink and sat down on a nice day to a short wait. I thought it was a really good cheeseburger, onions grilled into/with the burger patty, mustard and pickles. I'm happy to try almost any burger, and this needed nothing else. Mustard and meaty goodness. Fries were hand cut, crisp, seasoned, and pretty fantastic. Anyway, not much else to say. Owners were friendly and helpful. I don't get over to the Stockyards very often, but if I did, this would easily be a regular stop. read more

The signature onion burger is fantastic and the coney with slaw is to die for, but the best kept secret at Hookers is the (new to the menu) Choctaw Indian Taco. It starts with a tender, fluffy base of fry-bread topped with generous layers of seasoned ground beef, home cooked pinto beans, shredded cheese, sour cream and be sure to top it with the magic, home made, green chili sauce that accompanies this delicacy. Me and a couple co-workers like to go all around town trying different places for lunch and one of our most frequent Foods is burgers and we've been to many places so far trying to find the best burger. Now this place is on Exchange Avenue right up the street from another really good burger place The Love Shack which I do recommend but we decided to go and check this place out since we had not been there yet. When you first pull up you got to find a parking spot which is actually right behind the building, then you walk up to the place which is basically like a burner stand that has a patio area built in front of it what the Second Story which is pretty cool. The menu is on the wall painted is there isn't that many options for burgers but they have a lot of other stuff too like chili dogs and loaded fries. Anyways I ordered the regular cheeseburger an order of fries and a Rhar and Sons red, when the burger came out it looked really yummy and it totally was! The onions has been slightly caramelized and the flavor was really good, the fries are fried in lard and sprinkled with salt and pepper delicious. Overall I'd definitely say this place is worth trying, especially on a nice sunny day on their second story patio. read more

Not sure what I enjoyed more, the food or the ladies behind the counter. I had the burger with fried onions and it was delish. I would be surprised if this place wasn't on some beat burger list somewhere. We also tried the chili cheese dog with a sweet slaw and I was pleasantly surprised. I went here for the first time last night, I had heard good things about it. But last night I ordered a frito pie and it took over 30 minutes. People who ordered after me were getting their food before me. When I asked about my food I was told it will be ready whenever it's ready very rudely. First if all, it was 95 degrees outside today and I was not feeling patio dining{I don't sweat, I glow} however, they turned on a light mist and several fans and my family and I were MORE than comfortable. It was sooo nice. They have a covered, two story,patio seating area that is both charming and rustic. They have an amazing onion burger with grilled onions that will knock your socks off. I couldn't decide between the burger or coney so I did both. They said it was fine! No judgement from their part and assured me how often people order that way. I ordered the regular onion burger and a chili/slaw coney. They were bursting with flavor. But. The onion burger. I'll might order two of those next time, I barely slowed down to breathe. I, personally, didn't care for the fries. But, who needs fries when you order a burger and coney. Save room for the milkshakes, they use local fresh fruit. This is a great spot for casual outdoor dining. The burgers are made from scratch when you order, so obviously they taste incredible. Sitting on the lower level during the day is actually really cool temperature-wise. This is one of my go to places in Ft Worth. They serve the BEST burger in town. Hands down. You know what your gonna get everytime. Possibly the best burger in Fort Worth. Yes, I've been to all the known places. This place has the best beef I have tasted anywhere around here. All their ingredients are fresh and never frozen. It's a concept that's new to this area with the onions cooked with the meat. It is awesome! Of course they will cook yours however you want!
