THIS IS A LONG, DETAILED REVIEW OF A PLACE THAT'S TRYING TO DO FAR TOO MUCH WITH FAR TOO LITTLE. 1.5/5 Yeah, I can't lie, this stuck with me. I've had two experiences at this movie theater with my father (~6 months ago for Project Hail Mary and last night for The Odyssey) and outside of the screens themselves, neither one was particularly glowing. I can't speak for every aspect of the venue, so I'll just break down what I DID experience, referring to each experience by its respective movie that we came to see. DARTS: we came in (PHM) immediately greeted by a large digital board and digi-dart space to our left, which seemed enticing. Upon entering and noticing there were no darts available, we went up to the nearby bartender who told us we could play if we "brought our own darts." Now, I don't know of any digital dart boards that welcome STEEL TIPS, nor do I know of any actual dart players that just hoard magnetic darts in their house, so this was immediately as befuddling as it was a red flag. BAR: both times (PHM and Odyssey) there was merely one tender at the bar, which isn't really a problem. For Odyssey, only the barback was present when we tried to order, and apparently they were off-shift so we waited a minute or so for the bartender to show up. No issue there, fairy major issue with the 10 minutes it took for us to be served our 2 Tokyo Teas (and extra 7 minutes for our Frito pies to come out.) It may seem to some like I'm nitpicking, but we were one of two parties at the bar, the other duo of which ordered bottled beers. We were one of three patrons in what seemed like the whole theater at the time that ordered food. If I knew we'd be waiting sit down restaurant times [compared to places like AMC and even B&B theaters that have staff with SOME sense of urgency, as if they're aware we're ultimately here to see a movie!] for Frito pie from out the can (which I WILL get to) and a couple Tokyo Teas, I absolutely would've eaten AND drank before I came. I can SOMEWHAT excuse the drinks, the light-poured $15 Tokyo teas because they have a fairly regular happy hour with half off cocktails. I recommend pulling up for happy hour bc that's the only way you won't feel cheaped out at the bar. (BOTH PHM And Odyssey) they are pouring light and TAXING, and AGAIN I will disclaim I'm not looking to get trashed! I'm comparing this experience not to BARS, but to other theaters that offer the same amenities! FOOD: yo. The nerve they have to charge what they do for most of the stuff here. What I REALLY want to tackle are the two food items we ordered (Odyssey). $11 for Frito scoops, canned chili [I'd bet hard dollars it was just microwaved hormel, and I'll TELL you why in a moment.], pico, and cheese. I know y'all have to make a profit, but when the bag is 50% Fritos and the end result is something I can make at home for LITERALLY a few dollars less (not even per serving, that'd be the receipt price!) with minimal effort, it REALLY doesn't leave me feeling like I got my money's worth. AGAIN, something I could potentially giving a pass with a 3-star review due to, I guess nostalgia factor? But what came after is truly the thing that tipped me over the edge to write this review in the first place. THE DESSERT FLIGHT. I ordered the bourbon pecan pie and the caramelized cheesecake. $7 per dessert, $1 off for ordering 2. $13 for two ~8 oz plastic parfait cups full of ACTUAL COOL WHIP. I am telling y'all I waited a proper 15 minutes for one dessert that consisted of pecan pie filling, a layer of vaguely flavored cool whip, and lazily crumbled honey maid graham crackers and another dessert that consisted of cherries "jubilee" (tasted like a cheaper, less flavorful version of Amarena black cherries) more lazy graham crackers, more cool whip, and a middle layer of RAW CREAM CHEESE. NOT CHEESECAKE, NOT CHEESECAKE FILLING. JUST CREAM CHEESE. I genuinely don't think I've ever had one aspect of a multifaceted experience ruin the entire thing for me, but paying for that felt like a genuine insult to my intelligence and my wallet. And that's BARRING the aloof, unconcerned staff, weak bar drinks, and the dart debacle. Even with this being the closest IMAX to South Dallas/Red Oak/Glenn Heights, in its current state it might just be worth it to go to the Cinemark in the city. Better service, better staff, better standards. read more

Came in with my girlfriend to bowl and she wanted the bumpers for her turn and I asked one of the workers at the counter and he told me that he only lets kids with special needs have the bumpers and just gave me a blank stare. I then talked with another person who was very helpful and told me that anyone and everyone can have bumpers no matter what and resolved the issue. Along with that the chair was snapped off in our lane not a huge deal just needs to be fixed. The array Bowling experience was all around fun along with the movie we saw. Comfy seats that lay almost fully out! Large popcorn costed me $26 which is absurd. We had a good time but overall the issue with the worker at the counter rubbed us the wrong way and did not start our experience off well. read more

I very rarely write bad reviews. However, this was easily the worst theater & game experience I've ever had. Paid $51 to see a movie with our children. False advertisement as they DO NOT bring food to your seats. We pressed on making our 4 year olds carry their own food which is normally fine but we had to wait while holding our food for the theater to be cleaned for about 10 mins (the show would be starting in that time). Paid $113 for my family to eat, waited 25 mins to get our food & was given an extremely disrespectful attitude by an employee when I asked for my 2 included sauce cups. For $113 we should get SEVERAL sauces man. The fries were cold, tenders were not good & our seats were torn and uncomfortable to sit on. Every trashcan in the building was completely full. Half of the arcade games didn't work & arcade was filthy. This was such a bad experience & we will certainly take our money elsewhere from now on. read more

To start.. the movie we saw was great. I have zero complaints about the in movie experience. BUT.. the rest of this place was trash. First time we had been since it's rebranding... the layout is weird.. it does not flow. The games are layer out everywhere and you could not really see where to go to see the movie. The snack bar was Ass. No nachos, no hot dogs! How do you have a movie theater without hot dogs! Seemed understaffed. 3 drinks, one popcorn and 2 candies, $50. Popcorn was not fresh. I see a review from 4 months ago about how bad Hooky is with the remodeling going on. Well today is Nov. 30th, 2025 and this place is a mess. We came wanting some fresh popcorn and hot Hotdogs. We got neither. What we did get? Forced to purchase either the $12 endless bucket of popcorn and only one size of soft drink. Oh, we could have purchased the kiddie popcorn and drink. Yeh right. Not what we wanted. So we paid literally $27 for the one popcorn, one drink and one Reeses Pieces. Outrageous. We will never come here again. This place was great and I will say excellent when it changed to EVO but now it is terrible. Management, if you are going to force us to buy things we do not want and not have the items that are normal for a theater and make us settle for below mediocrity then at least give us 50% off until your renovation's are finished. So, I haven't been to this theater since the day of the rat infestation even after they rebranded from EVO to Hooky. I figured I would give this theater a try again and boy this theater is far worse than it was before. The customer service was not very good with individuals that appear to be managers prioritizing socializing with the other employees and non-essential tasks rather than ensuring that everyone is being served at the concession stand. Most if not all the employees there seemed to be more distracted with socializing than attending to the customers and keeping the line moving so that the guests could make it to their theaters on time. As for the food the popcorn was so stale, and the soft drinks out of the machine were flat. I did order a pizza for my child, but the final product left much to be desired in the taste department despite that they took almost half an hour to pop it out. As for the remodel, is it me or does this theater look worse than before the rat infestation. Anyways I don't think I will be returning to this theater again. read more

Saw Toy Story 5 in theater 12. The seats are worn out. The leather on the seats was down to the cloth. The popcorn sucks with no seasoning. This place is more of a amusement place than a theater. Poor projection. My 85in TV has a much better picture. 10.00 for seniors i won't be back. read more

....We spent alot of money on tickets to relax and enjoy a movie. However, there was no hot dogs, no cheeseburgers, staff wasn't even wearing hairnets in the back where food was being prepped. Staff or lack there of was not very knowledgeable of their job nor could they even bother to inform people they were out of cheeseburgers. Please get your concession stands employees properly trained to follow health code standard. Wear a hairnet and clean gloves... it is not that hard. read more

If I could rate this zero stars I would! This theater has gone to crap since Hooky took it over. We come here often and every time we do this seems to be a problem! Show time is 9pm and at 915 we were still looking at this (see attached photo). Service is bad, concessions are terrible! We will not be coming back and don't recommend this place to anyone! This is my first time here since it has been Hooky. I would say if you're not ready to open and start doing business, then don't open yet. Not having any of the typical foods that theaters have nowadays and only having seriously over priced candy, popcorn, and drinks is insane. No icees, hotdogs, nachos, pretzels, or anything like that is not acceptable in 2025. Showbiz was great, EVO was great, and I don't know what the deal is now. Still ok as far is movie quality and seating goes but there's probably cheaper theaters to go to if that's all you're looking for. read more

It seems like EVO couldn't uphold their commitment, and now that it's Hooky, the experience has only gotten worse. All of the seating has been removed, there's no pizza and very limited food options, the theater seats are worn out, and even the bathroom doors don't close properly and were dirty. On top of that, the customer service was disappointing. I had hoped things would improve under new management, but after a third time, instead the overall quality has declined even further. read more

The manager Cody gets 5 stars.. he went above and beyond recently for our large family attending the opening of Superman. If you need anything, I highly recommend reaching out to him. And the staff was super helpful when a game wouldn't work. I feel like they are trying to turn things around. The bathrooms get a 2 and the cleanliness of the popcorn area gets a 3. We will be returning because of the great customer service but hoping the place gets cleaned up. read more

My family and I went here to go bowling. At the lane, no server ever greeted us. We went to the counter to order food and we ordered a small pizza and fries. The pizza never came out! My sister who is allergic dairy requested plain fries yet they had cheese on them! After going back to the counter to get help, the staff blatantly ignored us. After 45ish minutes of waiting, we were finally able to get a manager to give us a refund. Overall, the service was terrible and I would never bring my family here again!!! read more

The service was awful. No food was prepared for purchase. Only popcorn. the ICEE machine and Dr Pepper fountain drink machine were both out of order. We requested bottled water. They gave us ice and tap water In a plastic cup. They did not honor the free admission offered for the child's ticket from Angel Studios. We were early for the movie but due to the poor service in the lobby, we missed the first part of the movie. No apology or offer to make things right Was extended to us. Cinema is a mess and not done. Bathrooms were not clean and out of toilet paper. We will not return to this theatre and take our business elsewhere. So sad because, before Hooky took over, it was a pleasant, fun and well stocked business With friendly faces and state of the art equipment and surroundings.
