Came here with my cousins after a very long time. One thing to note is that games don't accept plain nickels anymore, and money gets loaded onto a car. This place has games more like Chuck E. Cheese, but games are still fun to play, and around 5-8 nickels per game. We definitely enjoyed are time and will be back if we're in the area! read more

This is my second visit, and I'm still impressed! Especially considering everything's increasing in price, this place is a bargain. It's a fantastic spot for families, offering a wide range of great games. We specifically came for the basketball game, and it was a blast! Came here for a birthday and definitely enjoyed our time there. Atmosphere - 4/5 - It is great for younger kids as it is smaller, so easier to keep an eye on them. Although the space is limited, there are plenty of games for the kids to play on. If you are hosting a birthday party here, please note that there are only 2 tables (kind of long), so it will not seat a large kid party. I suggest calling to get the actual number it can accommodate. Staff - 4/5 - Didn't really engage with them much, but they do seem friendly. Food - N/A - It was a birthday party, so it was catered from elsewhere. As mentioned above, they do have plenty of games for the kids. There was actually a race car arcade where if you kept winning, you were able to keep playing. I do not know any other place that has a game like that, so that was fun. We have loved coming here for many years because of the old school vibes. It was safe, clean, affordable and small enough to keep an eye on your kids. We've brought out of town guests here and they all loved it. They have ruined the charm by replacing actual nickels with cards and eliminating the prize tickets. At first I wasn't a fan of Nickel Mania mainly because they charge an entrance fee separately from the money you have to pay to play, but we spent $20 to buy nickels to play and it lasted a really long time! We were there more than an hour and towards the end we were just swiping different machines to use them all. The prizes aren't really that great and I wish they had more claw machines. The claw machine they have is where you try to grab for tickets and I am pretty sure it's rigged. No matter how many times we tried it jiggles and shakes and nothing is grabbed by the claw. We came here due to my brother's suggestion as we used to go to Nickel arcade. The price of admission is $3.95 per person to get discounted games. The more you play the more that $4 dollars looks interesting. We went on a Sunday and was very packed. We got around $25 dollars worth of nickels. We were able to play for a good 2 hours here. They do have a good variety of ticket games which is the plus side, but the ticket payouts were pretty low. If you are an advantage player, you definitely would have a hard time winning a tickets as the payoffs are not good even if you become an expert. Most of the games range from 2 to 8 nickels, but we did not see a game that paid that much. The arcade games were fun as there was Jurassic Park and Mario Kart, but there were rarely any. But having more ticket games makes more sense for a profit perspective as the games last for a couple of seconds to a minute of fun. All those tickets ended up getting us candy only and we got around 1000 tickets. They have the old school ticket machines too where you feed the tickets in there and that can take awhile to do. Surprised they do not have the weight in machine, but maybe they do as they had a lot of staff there. The place is not like Dave and Buster's and has more of a kid friendly place and does get crowded. Believe it or not the bathrooms were actually clean as I expected them to be very dirty. Would I go here again, only if my brother's family is in town. read more

Used to make the drive out from Weatherford just to go to this arcade for the nostalgia factor but this last time we went, we were just disappointed. $5 per entry and they modernized all the games so you have to use a game card, no more nickels and of course that also means no more printed tickets that we can drag around to show off. I grew up coming to Nickelmania for field trips! I love that it's still here and in such excellent condition, that I'm able to share part of my childhood with my son. TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT ANYMORE! The only reason we went to this place cuz it was still old fashioned. My kids LOVED to actually insert the coins in the games and receive paper tickets! They replaced the nickels with cards and no more actual tickets. They also raised the price of admission. This was supposed to be a budget friendly- kid friendly place. Now it's turned into another money draining place! Seating was DEFINITELY limited! Only had one table available for the public! There were older people standing around a tiny crowded table because staff REFUSED to make more tables available. Completely unacceptable, they are so money greedy! I used to love coming to this place. It's really a Carrollton community spot that kids of all ages have frequented at least once. However, after an incident that happened last year with my toddler, I have not gone back. Though the games have been updated and the owner is trying their best to keep up to date in the new arcades, they have no liability when it comes to incidents in their location. Their floors are slippery and the last time that we visited my toddler took a fall and busted her lip. I asked an employee for the manager and to file an incident report only to be told "they wouldn't be able to do anything" The employee was concerned and phoned the owner but after about 30 seconds the employee came back and told me they wouldn't be able to do anything but that they would call me in the morning. I was dumbfounded. We were faithful customers and looked forward to spending money & time here every weekend. After the incident, and having to leave my information out for the Owner, I was told they would call. I can say, with a clear conscious, that I never wanted anything at all from this place. No prizes or nickles or free entry. Absolutely nothing. But I looked forward to speaking to the owner. Maybe hear an apology. The call never came. No one cared. And the memory still remains. I would never recommend this place to anyone. And I will do my very best to make sure everyone knows of the missed opportunity to provide basic customer service to a local. If your family is thinking of patronizing or visiting this place, run! They only want your money and will never show an ounce of care or respect for you & yours. My family and I had so much fun at Nickel Mania!!! We've been to our share of arcades, but none are like Nickel Mania. My hubby and I both have fond memories of going to the arcade as kids and spending a few hours playing games and having a nice time, but as we tried to recreate the same feeling with our kids it only left us feeling... uh well... rather BROKE after 20 minutes!!! We would spend another 20 minutes trying to figure out how the kids spent all their tokens/quarters in such a short window of time! Enter Nickel Mania and as the name suggests the games take nickels instead of quarters. $50 goes an awfully long way here! We were there for hours! I was expecting the games to be pretty lame, but there was a good selection of games to choose from. The ticket payout for the games was on par with other more expensive places. There is the cover charge to get it, but we felt like we got our money's worth. The prize selection was decent, and if your child picks and inflatable item the clerk inflates it for you on the spot which is nice as both my boys chose punching balloons and inflatable microphones! The staff was friendly and attentive. The only downsides are that they don't serve food, but you are free to bring food and eat at one of the two picnic tables located by the entrance and you have to carry around large cups full of nickels. It would be nice if the nickels could be loaded onto cards as they can be pretty heavy to carry around for the younger kids and I witnessed quite a few kids accidentally knocking over their cups. My boys had pants with deep pockets which made it easy to load them up and have them come back for refills as they had enough to deal with carrying around all the bags of tickets they won.
