Seems to be the only place in this town open relatively late. Greeted immediately as we walked in. Very impressed the bar has a few liquors that aren't typical for a small spot. Ordered quesadillas and tempura chicken tenders. They have good honey mustard too! read more

Hooligans Food & Drink is frequented by locals from the area. It is off a side street and is not as fancy as some of the places in the area however there is excellent food to be had and a comfortable atmosphere. I sat at the bar and watched how hard the bartender was working. She was constantly on the move the whole night. The place was packed so I had no problem waiting to order food. It gave me a chance to talk to some nice locals. I had the baked, stuffed haddock. It was one of the best I've ever had! It was a good size piece baked just right with a siding that didn't overpower the fish. For sides, I had mashed potatoes and broccoli. I would come back and eat this often if I lived here. The service was on point, the food was excellent and I find Hooligan's to be somewhere you would want to go with friends or family. My expectations were low based on Yelp reviews. People are human and we need to be thankful for those that are working hard to serve us. read more

I really liked Hooligan's. I came here two nights in a row when staying in North Conway for a weekend. It feels like a locals place, but you're still treated super nicely if you're from out of town. The two waitresses we had were stellar. Truly friendly, amazing ladies that were happy to chat local spots and tattoo parlors. The first night I asked if they could add some veggies to their pasta dish, and they did! It was so delicious. Great pours on draft, right now they're open til 11 and are one of the latest spots in town. Very clean, friendly, nice bathrooms, pretty good food. Bad Very sad...Been going there for years to get the French Onion Soup. But never again... everything changed and not for the better! Stopped in on a rainy mid-afternoon. NIce little pub. James, the owner, greeted us with a smile and a good beer recommendation. Took a weekend trip with my boyfriend up to North Conway, and Hooligans was our first stop. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and were able to pick our seats. The inside is on the smaller end. Almost all of the seating is bar stool / table style. There were some regular seating on one side, but there were already patrons at those spots. The interior was nicely decorated and very clean. Our waitress was super bubbly and friendly! She was great start to finish. The menu was a bit smaller than expected, but it is still currently COVID times, and I know restaurants have been struggling. I'm not sure if this is a limited menu or if this is their normal. We both ended up getting steak and cheese subs with French fries and Diet Cokes. The diet Coke's were, well, funky tasting. We both noticed it, and just found it to have a strange flavor. No fizz either, completely flat. The steak and cheese subs were very good. The meat was super finely chopped, which I actually liked. Plenty of cheese. Plenty of toppings. The French fries.... Oh my gosh, these were phenomenal! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. We both commented on how tasty these were. I normally never finish my fries when they come with my meal, but dang, with these, I wanted to lick the plate they were that good haha! I would definitely come back again, and recommend. read more

We went last night and the staff were very accommodating( we showed up party of 8 no reservation). The place is very small and it seemed like one young lady was running the whole restaurant but she did a great job. This restaurant was not air conditioned well and we were sweating the whole time. It was very noisy and crowded as well so I would say not a good atmosphere. The food was below average. Only the lobster pie was great. The fries were soaked in oil and we were unable to eat it. The rib-eye steak was hard to chew. Oh hooligans ... your Yelp review seemed so promising but alas .... is surely incorrect. In all honestly my experience at Hooligans is more of a 2 but this review has got to be lower. They just do not put out good food or service deserving of a 4 star review. My boyfriend and I visited while vacationing in North Conway. At hooligans bar we were greeted just barely by the bartender. She didn't have any suggestions for the menu and seemed disinterested. I ordered the "buffalo chicken wrap". It did not in fact contain buffalo sauce but rather straight up Tabasco. Cold chicken , drowned in Tabasco. Very unpleasant. My boyfriend got the quesadilla I tried a bite and it tasted like chicken soup ... very strange and just not enjoyable whatsoever. I feel bad because it could be a very nice spot it's a cute little house on the outside but inside is boring and so is the food. read more

Worst service I've ever had in my life. Came in on a Friday night and where seated. Then they served the 2 groups that came in after us before us. I get that it's a pandemic, but this was just bad food, and it's kind of been long enough that you should have this figured out by now. Don't waste your money like I did. I ordered chicken Parmesan and got some weird concoction with meat sauce with bland chunks of chicken and watered down pasta. No mozzarella or basil as advertised. I mean, I get that it's not a gourmet Italian place, but if you're going to charge $20 for the plate, can you at least try? And maybe add the salad dressing? And we ordered and paid for a side of grilled chicken for our dog and it wasn't in there. And they must have taken their phone off the hook because when I called to ask about it, it's been busy for an hour. Hard pass. read more

What can I say- they took us happily. A toddler and an infant and a big double carriage. The place was cute, service authentic. And honestly we were grateful for any place that took us after a rough family day. Now the food - it's a complement when I say that I needed to add salt. Typically every restaurant over salts everything, but my chicken parm sandwich, and my wife's hooligan chicken needed salt. But I could tell each was prepared with pride and with quality ingredients. The chicken was over fried a bit, and the sauce was great, but never in my life have I salted tomato sauce. Today I did. Had dinner with friends here on a rainy night. For appetizers we enjoyed the Buffalo wings and Duck wings. Both had moist, tender meat and were cooked perfectly. Sauce level was just a coating and not drenched. The duck wings were actually duck drumsticks. The sauce for the duck was hoisin sauce. Chili was not that great. It was lacking flavor and spice. Texture was alright. For my entree I had a chicken "pot pie" that came with a choice of two sides. The "pot pie" was actually a bowl of chicken stew with a pie top placed on top of it. The pie top was flaky, crisp and did go well with the stew, but I was looking forward to the parts of the crust on the bottom that were soaked with broth. The stew itself was thin and flavorless. The stew did have a good amount of chicken and vegetable pieces, but overall was bland. I did like the side vegetables that were buttery and tender. Pasta salad side was average. Portions here were generous and we ended up taking parts of our meal home. Service was adequate. The place was good for a late dinner (it was open until 11pm), but probably would look elsewhere if dining earlier. read more

What an awful dinner experience. First off half the pictures uploaded are false. They are not of the restaurant you are going to. They are from a restaurant in New York. When we arrived we knew it was not the restaurant that we had seen. But we gave it a shot. The food was terrible. The fish tasted three days old and the chicken Parmesan sub tastes like frozen plastic. It's a dive bar. The waiter was disgusting and was not in any uniform. He looked like a fisherman who just got off the boat. He was scratching his hair and putting his thumb and our food. At the climax we let him know the mail was awful and they took off the fish dish. We ran out of there as soon as we possibly could. From the decor to the smell it was her awful. Stay far away. Beware. read more

The service was slow because they seemed to be short a person, but the girl that was waitressing was working her butt off. The food .. i had chicken parm sandwich, tasted like cardboard no flavor at all. My wife got chicken quesadilla the cheese was cheep l, all we could taste was oil. We have wanted to try this place for a while and finally did this weekend. First, very cozy and nice interior. Feels very comfortable and clean. The wait staff was awesome as well. From initially greeting us to the service to the end. Drinks: they have a decent beer selection (with several local beers)and make very good cocktails. Food: Everything we got was very good. The French Onion Soup was very tasty and seafood chowder was delicious as well. Our kids both went with the kids cheeseburgers and they were good sized and also very good (had to grab a bite to make sure). We also went with the Haddock Rueben and that was amazing. Fried haddock with a carrot slaw. Really well done, the haddock was delicious and everything went so well together. A very unique sandwich and well worth getting. BUT-things happen and I am not giving a negative review based on service. We had very good service, especially under the short staff circumstances. Food was adequate. Everything that came out the kitchen looked delish. Chicken parm sandwich was ok. Burgers were more on the charred side. Ketchup on the table is generic and unfortunately tasted like tomato paste. Chicken fingers were tempura battered and so very yummy!!! French fries looked to be fresh cut! Very good. (That's why the ketchup was SO disappointing- so management if you are listening... get name brand please!) Good price for the quality and amount delivered as well. The place was small-ish. I've been here twice, both times with horrible service, but the food is OK. I had the chicken oriental stir fry and it was good enough that I would go back. I also had the bourbon pecan pie - very good except for the crust, which was not flaky or crisp but soggy.
