We decided to bring friend from out of state here to try this seafood restaurant. It's either been the wrong day or the wrong time of year for us. Today they were open. We were all shocked by the high price of their menu items and even more shocked by the small size for the price. The interior was outdated and lacked sufficient air conditioning. Restrooms were smoldering hot. Wait staff was not very responsive. We Ordered a haddock sandwich with fries, 1/2 pint of haddock nuggets, bowl of NE clam chowder which I was told lacked clams and had a unique taste which could not be pinpointed and a large order of onion rings for the table. Been here done that...time to move onto another establishment. The food was good but overpriced ‍

Was in Saturday night for the first time . Long wait . 45 mins at least . Small place few tables . The fried calamari was the best tasting item. Lobster rolls looked good . Baked haddock , no flavor at all siting in water no butter in the crumb and no seasoning ! Not even salt and pepper. Bland as F . Everyone complained about the watered down drinks , from the pink lemonade to the alcohol drinks and the cole slaw . The cabbage was soft and limp like it was old .i do not think it's fresh seafood . Tasted like frozen to me or old. One or the other . The onion rings were pretty good . Waitress was not attentive . I will not be back . Lots of other seafood places around .

Had fresh scallops and the best Cole slaw in my life.

The food was fresh New England ocean scallops. I walked in late and the allowed me to come in 845 pm. I was amazed at the quality and attention Chrissy gave me. The world is filled with stress costs are high but she engaged and made me feel good. The food is not as expensive as others I have eaten but the quality was as good as others. With the visit.

Stopped by on our way to Maine. Had this insatiable craving for a lobster roll and this place exceeded my expectations. Definitely stop by for a lobster roll and the haddock bites are amazing

We have not been to Jake's in quite a few years as there were better places to go and did not care for their food, but thought we try it again as friends said it was good. Guess what, it was not. Clams and Scallops were overcooked, fries under cooked and no, they do not cross each other out. I got 6 clams and 6 Scallops and plenty of fries to fill and make it look big. If you are in the area and want good food, this is not the place, try Bay Haven Lobster Pound(worth the extra drive to get there) and Mountain View Station in Ossipee Center. Both are very good and portions are better and never overcooked. I did not include my wife's picture of her lobster salad, but it was so small, it is 1/4 the size you get from Bay Haven for the same price. On a good note, the staff is friendly and delivered food to our vehicle.

Outstanding fried full-belly clam platter.

We went up to New Hampshire for the weekend and I thought we weren't going to get a chance to eat good clam chowder and fried full-bellied clams as many of the restaurants were closed on Sunday night and all day Monday. Fortunately, we found Jakes in Ossippee and it was on our way to the Manchester airport. It's a cozy homey place with friendly staff, and outstanding seafood. I enjoyed my clam chowder, not pasty or gummy which is the norm here in Florida, but very creamy and flavorful. If I could find one minor flaw it would be that I would have liked some bigger pieces of clam in the chowder, but the flavor is superb. The fried full-bellied clam dinner was also superb! Clams were so sweet and tender. Even the fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce deserve praise. Thanks for making our trip to New Hampshire complete. We will be sure to plan a visit the next time we are up in the mountains!

A bit overpriced. I have been served frozen seafood . Their french fries are frozen and their coleslaw is not homemade.

Best clam or fish chowder in NH. All the people who work there are locals and like their job. Great service. You will be glad you stopped.

Our server was young, friendly, and professional! She did a great job! After cruising the menu we we ordered. My wife decided on the grilled chicken Panini and I their baby spinach salad, adding black and salmon. I also ordered a bowl of chowder. Little did we know this was nearly the same meal that we ordered during our last visit until I checked Yelp. I also ordered a Maine Lunch beer while my wife ordered a ginger ale. My chowder came out first. It was absolutely delicious! Our meals came out shortly thereafter. my wife's Panini was huge as were the french fries which I jokingly called potato logs. My baby spinach salad was huge as well. Topped off with a lovely large piece of salmon! It was blackened perfectly! My wife took home half of her sandwich while I devoured my entire salad. This is a great spot. We hope to get back here again before we leave the area! Keep up the great work!

We didn't need to wait; handicap parking was available right at the ramp; easy in and out. Our booth was comfortable, and the appearance of the dining room is improved (cleaner, brighter, smooth floors and tables) from our last visit (over 2 years ago). Three orders of fried clams. One order of chicken parm on pasta. Servings were huge!! Fries were hot and fresh. Drinks didn't break the bank (1 wine and 1 Lone Pine beer, 2 sodas). We ordered a side of chicken tenders thinking they would be hand made and they were the same flat, frozen chicken tenders you get at a pizza joint. The amount of food you get has been reduced to mostly undercooked French fries. When the plate comes out you think WOW until you eat the first layer of seafood and find a huge amount of fries underneath. I did notice the place was pretty empty and can understand why now. We used to have to wait in line to get in. So sad that a place that was so good is now just another lowered quality place to eat. Our server was outstanding which is a plus.

We found Will to be an excellent bartender as well as friendly and pleasant! People make every business, and she does Hobbs well! I really do enjoy their Caesar salad, adding salmon. The salmon is usually extremely delicious and these two visits they were the same; however, our most recent visit the blackening seasoning was very heavy. I did not mind it and found it to be deliciously yummy! My wife enjoyed her Southwest, egg rolls and small Caesar salad as well! Though it's a bit of a drive from where we are staying, it is well worth the trip! Unfortunately, this will probably be our last visit during our annual sojourn to this area.
