We visited the Hooters in Denton as a family of six while in town visiting relatives, since the Lewisville location was closed down. We ordered wings, tater tots, fried pickles, and steamed shrimp. Four of us had drinks (two cocktails and two draft beers), and everything was fine at first. After finishing our second draft beer, our server suddenly cut us off. A manager came over and said we were drinking "too fast," which made no sense -- no limits were explained and no one was intoxicated. After that entire conversation, the server oddly asked if we wanted a third round, which only made the situation more confusing and unprofessional. Our tater tots didn't come out until we were already leaving, and the wings were extremely small -- about the size of tater tots -- very disappointing for the price. We didn't argue because the experience was already ruined. We've been loyal Hooters customers at the Frisco location for over 25 years and have never been treated this way. The Denton location made us feel uncomfortable and stereotyped, and we will not return. This deserves more than a generic response -- real customer service and accountability matter. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I have loved Hooters for years. My first memory of this place is going with my dad, as a young kid, and eating some of the best wings of my life. I hadn't been in years, and desperately wanted to go back and munch on some wings while watching the UFC fight with my boyfriend. I'm a mom to a toddler and rarely ever get a chance for a date night. I had a chance tonight, and after a ton of coaxing, was able to get my boyfriend to go with me to this Denton location for a night we finally had alone and for some food I thoroughly enjoy. When we got there, we asked if they had UFC on the tvs. They said they didn't, which wasn't a problem at all. At first, we were thinking of going elsewhere to watch the fights, but were able to find the fights on our phone and decided to stay. Sitting at the bar, we figured it wouldn't be an issue as we set the phone up and watched with the volume extremely quiet. During our time there, there were two gentlemen also sitting at the bar who were clearly intoxicated as soon as we got there. Singing obnoxiously loud, speaking loud and crude, and obviously had too much. As we continued to enjoy our appetizer, the two gentlemen ordered multiple whiskey shots and enjoy beers. This continued until we finally ordered our meal and the two men left, clearly inebriated and had been served too much. As we were eating, my boyfriend tried to order another beer (we had not ordered any liquor) and was told he would only be served a short because he "had too much" At this point I became beyond frustrated. This establishment was clearly okay with over serving 2 single men at the bar drink after drink, shot after shot, letting them leave completely intoxicated... but we're trying to cut my boyfriend off after 3 beers during a 2 hour time span there? I tried to speak with the manager who was no help and said that's their policy. I firmly believe it's because I am a female who was there with him. I believe they are a okay to over serve single males by themselves in the hopes they will give wonderful tips to their waitresses. More attention is clearly paid to the men there with women. What's crazy, is I was the one who wanted to go. TABC has been contacted and a report filed. Corporate has also been contacted and waiting to hear back. A very good place for a lunch break or even a dedicated event, such as a promotion or business meeting; of course, this is completely dependent upon the local ladies who serve you the goods: Denton benefits from our local universities in giving students an employment opportunity earning their own personal future by providing the job opportunities, and gives waiters, waitresses and cooks important jobs, that, in turn, strengthens the business economy. Frankly, I am bullish about the climate around "L'l d" and even the communities all around here and it's undeniable that a rising tide floats all boats higher and we are stutter stepping through these dynamic obstacles, but are starting to catch fairly stable growth that is inspired by the most forward looking city planners who are in charge of the situation and even ensure that laws are followed and services funded. Though I am not very big in stature, sitting atop my Patriot United States flag-embossed power wheelchair, which I am still learning to use, I am confident that Hooters has a recipe for success and the future is certain. Unfortunately poor service, despite it being quite slow my food took ~20 to come out. My waitress told me that she put in my food wrong so my burger came out with no cheese and she asked me if I still wanted it with cheese (???) I said yes, expecting them to just put the cheese on the burger and come back, but I instead had to wait for them to remake the entire order and another 15 minutes to get my food. At that point, I just wanted to get out of there. I didn't want to be an asshole but there wasn't any offer to make this right, no offer to speak to a manager, no offer to discount or have anything taken off, and I literally just wanted cheese on my burger. Okay, full disclosure, I started to write one of my Dear John letter reviews that I only write when I'm pissed. Instead of unleashing my fiery temper in a scathing laundry list of issues, I decided to scrap my draft, focus on only my biggest concerns and write the nice version. You're welcome, Hooters. I had previously resisted trying the food here because I used to work in the area and the girls would come around to local businesses periodically with wings. I thought this was so sweet and a decent marketing ploy to let us all know they were in the area. However, I always thought the wings were kind of meh, so I wasn't motivated to try them sooner. I knew from the reviews and a few third hand stories to take it to go instead of dining in due to the long wait times. At this point I've picked up to go orders and ordered delivery a few times each. You know how sometimes you wait a while at a restaurant because they are giving priority to the to go orders? Yeah, that doesn't happen here, you're all waiting, hon. Our first experience was about 10 weeks ago for a to go order and it was really disappointing. It took forever to be ready, the burger was dry, the sliders were so dry they could choke you, the quesadilla was bland and all the sides were overcooked or soggy (tots, curly fries and regular fries). Hoping it was a bad night, I kept my review in draft and decided to try them again. My review did notate that if the sliders weren't overcooked and had a sauce, they probably would have tasted good. That was the most diplomatic thing I could come up with. The next time had a few issues with missing items but the loaded tots were okay. The real saving grace was the Texas BBQ dry rub boneless wings, though! Those were good!! We enjoyed them a lot and figured Hooters was one of those places that tried to do too much and we would just stick with the wings. Last Friday I actually had a craving for those wings, couldn't stop thinking about them! We placed an order for them, but when we opened the container at home we found them to be sauced wings, not dry rub. Womp, womp! To add insult to injury, a lot of the wings were smaller, they weren't evenly sauced and they were kind of tangy. They were okay I guess, but not something I would order on my own. Yesterday we decided to give them one more chance to satisfy my wing craving and after it taking twice the amount of time that it should, they didn't even put the dry rub on them! In fact, the container they included, though similar in color, turned out to be some Cajun type rub instead. What a bummer! I suppose with all the inconsistencies in our orders it's possible someone was trying to give us our correct order and just making it all wrong. I don't understand. I wanted to give them money so that I could satisfy my craving, why can't we duplicate the same order of wings that I loved! This time, all the wings were really small, grrr. They make you choose a wing dressing and every time I have chosen ranch, and I have received the ranch exactly zero times. I was okay with spending a lot on wings when most of them were medium sized, some were kind of large and I loved the flavor. These last two times were just a rip off. I'm done with this location. If management wants any feedback, here's a tip- take care of your employees!! They do not seem happy here... ever! I've seen girls outside dreading reporting for their shifts, that's depressing and made me feel weird about giving you business. It's common sense though, respect and motivation come from the top and result in good service, consistent execution and reasonable wait times. This many poor experiences is not the result of one or two bad apples. Oh, and fix the damn wings! If you want customers to be happy and return, feed them! read more

My brother and I went there on a Saturday to watch some NCAA football. There was a ridiculously loud, belligerently drunk guy at the bar, yelling at the top of his lungs at anybody within earshot. Everyone was pissed off. Most patrons were complaining to their waitresses. We wanted to leave. I tried to get ahold of the manager, who was hiding in the back. When a team of waitresses finally coaxed him out of his cave, his response was something like "oh, he's a regular, he's a nice guy." Leaving a 95-lb. bartender to be yelled at continuously by this mountain of a guy. Our server is nice and helpful, but waiting on the kitchen is taking forever. We put a second order in for wings over 25 minutes ago. That was when we still had plates with one or two wings. It's sad that this is the only Hooter's in Denton, but not so bad since the wings aren't that great anyway. Super small. Might as well go to BWW and get bigger wings. The manager finally brought the wings. When I told him how long it took, he said I agree that is ridiculous, but said nothing further. Won't be coming back, should have taken my first experience as a fluke and considered myself lucky. Manager attempted to right wrongs with a discount which I appreciate.
