Five star Cracker Barrel you ask? This review for the Gift Shop only . It's been about a year since I ate at Cracker Barrel. I enjoyed the meal but just haven't returned. During that visit I looked around the gift shop on my way out . To my surprise,I found they stocked Big Red among many vintage soda pops. I quickly grabbed 4 and was ecstatic! Why you ask? Well,Big Red is inextricably linked to central Texas Bar-B-Q. It was invented by a chemist back in the 1930s. About the same time road travel picked up. People would stop at roadside BBQ shack and grab a smoked beef sandwich and Red Soda and the perfect pairing had begun . I'm just glad I've found a supply of long neck bottle Big Red. Service started great with prompt drinks and taking our order, little did we know that would be the only drinks we get. Good thing their syrup is watery. Never checked on how the food was. He was too busy paying attention to his big top (bigger tab bigger tip) to bother with our two top. Finally came back over to ask if we wanted a box or togo drinks, I responded by asking if we could have more drinks here. When he brought the drinks over I asked for the check, never got it so I had to flag down the manager. He was really busy just staring around not really helping the servers or the patrons. The service is always great coming here. Food is always fresh and fast. Walking in is very welcoming. If it's cold out they may have the fireplace on that gives a cozy feeling. I've had lots of dishes here from breakfast to dinner. My favorite is the meatloaf. Prices are reasonable. Breakfast is served all day and that's a plus! I can eat pancakes anytime of the day. It can get busy at times but if you have their app you can join the wait list. The country store is really cool to find retro toys and candies. So Cracker Barrel has been a staple from southern cooking all the way down to the smoked sausage to the fried catfish. So I understand adding new items to keep it interesting but taking fried catfish from everyday to only on Friday?? So that broke my fatboy heart. All In all just a bad experience took over an hour and 45 minutes to get our food and you guessed it cold as cold could get. The manager told us it was kinda like bad luck that we came in right after a 20 top. All I could do was laugh at that response and keep it pushing. The district manager was told by the waitress of all that was going on and he came out explaining that they were doing lots of training of new cooks and managers. He also comped or meal and we hooked up the waitress that did the absolute best she could do. Second time trying this location and so far both of our times being here have been pleasant. The servers are friendly and attentive. We've been here on the weekend and it does get packed but at a very fast pace. It also gets loud and the tables are a bit too close from each other. Food is delicious, pictures say more than a thousand words! So I'll leave these two here. The store is also very organized, you can find wonderful items to purchase. We have always been fans of Cracker Barrel. Over the years, regular visits have taken place at your locations in Allen, Fort Worth, Lewisville, and Denton. Living in the Denton area now, that's the location that we most often frequent. However, we visited your Lewisville establishment on February 13 as we were nearby and hungry. While the food was great as usual, except for the biscuits which didn't seem very fresh, the service was EXCELLENT! We especially want to recognize Brooklyn, who was our server. It's obvious that customers are her focus and that she strives to make all of her guests feel welcome. With it not being very busy, we had the opportunity to speak with her for a few minutes. My wife and I both agree that with her "can do" attitude, and her focus on others, that she has a bright future ahead! read more

Jimmy was very accommodating and allowed us to do a pick up catering order before the store officially opened today to allow us to get to throw a surprise green room grad party celebration for my daughter. She serves on the worship team and has to be at church by 7:15 am. We ordered two breakfast buffets from the catering menu. The food was packaged well and was easy to transport. They included all the serving ware and it was a good sturdy quality. The worship and tech team were very happy this morning with the food provided and gave multiple compliments and gratitude. It was exactly what we needed and each buffet served more people than I was expecting. Great experience! I will recommend this service and be using it again in the future. They didn't tell us they didn't have enough dumplings so we were missing 1 chicken and dumplings 2 dumplings sides the meatloaf was raw and cold the Mac and cheese was cold. The food was pretty decent. What we really loved was the atmosphere that are waitress provided. Her name was Whitley I believe . She was so pretty this tall chunky black girl with curly hair. Anyway she was working all by herself and took care of most of the dining room . We still got everything on time in the food was good. I hope they hold on to her she was really great. ordered the new campfire menu shrimp. i remember these(not shrimp) from a long time ago, and they were excellent. this time, it was a disaster. the "sausage" was like the bottom of your shoe. the corn on the cob would have been overcooked 2 days ago. the "red" potatoes were brown. the order was take out, they couldnt find it. probably because it was in plain sight. finally, someone from the kitchen came out, picked it up on the takeout shelf where it had been all this time, and handed it to me. just like the pot roast, which used to be the best i have ever had, they discontinued it, then brought it back. and it is really bad. it is really sad to see what used to be a great restaurant become such a bad one read more

They lowest cooked you can go for steak is medium per restaurant and I found ham burger steak to be a bit on hard side for medium. My family still does not go to restaurants due to COVID-19 and lack of people getting vaccinated in the state for whatever dumb reason. I placed an online order 2 days ago, to be picked up today at 2:00. I was even sent a text message today to say that my order was being prepared. So I arrive at the restaurant at 2:00, and complete my online check in for my order to be delivered to my car. After waiting 10 minutes, I called the number on the sign in front of my car. When no one answered my call, I went into the restaurant to discover my order was no where to be found. When it was finally brought to me - 40 minutes later - I was told that I was in luck, because it had been freshly prepared this morning.
