Went with our baseball family after a game and had about 30-40 people. The boys wanted some wings and the wait staff was stating how they didn't want to wait on us. I was in Destin from out of town to visit family and on my way back to my campground stopped in to order some wings to go and had a beer while I waited. The bartender was friendly enough, but was more interested in lounging by the cash register, talking with regulars. because I was at the bar I can see the cooks in the back who had a long dreadlocks with nothing covering them cooking the wings. I should've known then. When the bart brought the wings, I opened up and saw 10 scrawny wings just thrown into the box with no attempt at presentation whatsoever. But as I always liked the wings at Hooters, I was looking forward to chowing down on them when I got back to the campground. I walked out having dished out $30 plus tip for 10 wings and a beer, which I thought was really steep. But I was still hopefully to a nice splurge on some wings. When I got back to the camper, I dug into what was the most disgusting bite of what I guess they call wings. Most of the bones were broken to where I had to be careful to avoid slivers. Because the bones were broken there was black streaks of marrow througout making it very unappetizing. If I wasn't on a two week trip traveling, I would've gone back, paid the toll to get there and demanded to see the manager. Was greeted instantly, made me feel welcome. I had the Boneless 10 Pc wings with curly fries and my company had a 20 pc Bone - In Wing. I had lemon pepper and garlic parmesan seasoning on my wings. They weren't good, but they weren't bad. They first brought out the 20 pc and the fries, and forgot my food. Overall the wings were Mediocre and the service was kind of trash. Our waitress, Sarah didn't bring our food out and she only checked up on us when we arrived and when the food was brought to us. It wasn't busy at all. My wife and I love Hot wings. We always try to go get some good wings when we travel. Our favorite wings come from Fricker's and Rooster' s both located in Ohio. We are familiar with Hooters because they have locations in Ohio also. We went to the Destin location and when we walked it the hostess started to seat us then all of a sudden said no I sorry I made a mistake there is a 30 min wait. (Several tables were empty). We said ok can we get a drink at the bar, she said yes. Told us to wait in there outside area and they would call us. We did as directed and 40 min later we went to check with her and saw our name had been crossed off the list! Things just got worse from here. We did get our wings and they were good. Well.....I should have looked at Yelp reviews first. The reviews are pretty indicative of our service. We walked in on a Friday night and it was only half full. So service should be great!! Wrong!!! We met our waitress ( Devrie also known on her name tag as "Orangello" ). This is where our experience came crashing to a burn. Devrie was obviously interested in anything else than being a waitress. I can say this because I waited tables in college and the better service you give the better chance of higher tips. She was a robot asking for order and never smiled or even attempted to be friendly ONCE! We had to track her down in a slow restaurant to refill our drinks. The kids had boneless wings and I had traditional wings and fries. My better half had the Texas Philly cheesesteak. Her sandwich was not just horrible but as she said "gross". I had a bite and agreed. The only reason for the two stars instead of one star is that my wings were good. As well as the kids. Hey Hooters always knows how to make good wings. They invented it. I've been back twice since my last review, both on Sundays for NFL. The first time it was an outside visit again and it was packed due to a big NFC South rivalry game. Service was abysmally slow (staffing problem; the girls were upbeat and running like crazy) and some of us never even got to order drinks, but many of the customers were being d!cks anyway. The second time we got there a little early, sat inside, and the place didn't start filling up until almost an hour after kickoff. But Rachael was our server again and as usual she did a fantastic job. I noticed that everyone inside the restaurant seemed to be well taken care off and management was checking on tables, assigning games to televisions and talking football. So I'm starting to think that the patio is the nightmare area for this place. Next we got appetizers this was the only thing that was good! 4. After receiving our appetizers we had to wait over 2 hours and a half hours to receive our entree! When dealing with the waitress I had to ask her to check to see how much longer it would be before we got our food! And every time she would come back it was like "while we wait" response. In my head I'm thinking how long are we going to have to wait. Mind you others have come in and gotten their food and left when we were there before them. It's not all her fault on why our food didn't come out in time. However, when we did receive our food it was wrong, cold, and Raw! 5. They are sending out raw chicken! did I really wait 2 hours and a half hours to get cold raw ass chicken? 6. The Manager never came out to speak to us about this service! Wow! This place was atrocious. Poor service. Long wait. Dirty bathrooms. We waited over an hour for our table when we were told 30 minutes. Then it took 15 minutes to have a waitress come to our table. Another 15 minutes to receive our drinks. Then when our food came at the 1hr 10 minute mark (yes, I used a stop watch) one of the people in the party didn't even receive their food until everyone was already finished. We never received our 20 piece wrong order or another side item. The waitress we had (Megan) was nice, but serving is not her Forte. Social distancing was in effect, so only 1/2 the number of tables were even being utilized. Aside from the service, the bathrooms had feces on/in the toilet, and there was no toilet paper in the stalls. Never, ever would I recommend this place to anyone. That was a lie just to get people to leave. when we finally got seated we sat here for maybe five minutes before she came and asked us what we wanted to drink. Then finally got most of our drinks but one and it was probably ten minutes before we got our last drink. We waited about 20 to 25 minutes before we got our food. By far worst Hooters I've been to in my lifetime. We came with a party of 9 to get some wings. The restaurant was mostly empty apart from a few patrons sitting at the bar. Service was WAAYY too slow for a restaurant fully staffed with 90% tables open. It took them an hour and 45 minutes until we were all served our food. The 3 measly appetizers took over 30min and the food/wings were all over cooked. The staff didn't seem welcoming at all like most Hooters. The Employee's had no conversation aim with customers whatsoever, they all looked like they didn't want to be there. Almost as if we were an inconvenience for eating there and making them work? We thought it would be fun to go to Hooters since we all haven't been in years so the collective idea took a hard L. This isn't the Hooters we remembered. Let me start off by saying I'm a regular at Hooters. I've eaten at every Hooters in Houston, Austin, & SA. I've eaten at Hooters in Miami, Clearwater, & now Destin; as far as wings, this place was great! Their sauce was so good for some reason, but there were a few small wings throw in there. We ordered 3 Mile, Hot, & Mild with curly fries and everything came out hot and nice. The only problem with this place was the service. Lousy! We tried ordering "bently" because we do in Houston all the time, but the waitress had no idea what we were talking about. The manager was in the area and when we asked, he shrugged us off and had a rude tone. Another time my dad tried to flag down the manager who was looking point blank in our direction and the manager proceeded to watch the game on TV and ignore my dad calling out "Sir" and waving at him. By far the worst manager at any Hooters I've ever been to, they're usually so friendly and nice, but this guy gave off a bad vibe & just seemed like a jerk. Another issue was dirty plates brought out to us, my sister went to ask for more plates and a waitress completely ignored her, I'm assuming because she's a child. Customer service was enough for me to knock off a few stars for this location. It's also very chilly in the restaurant which can ruin your meal just because it's so cold. Lastly, I don't mean to assume or play the race card, but I couldn't help but feel like the manager may have been a little stuck up towards anyone who isn't white. We were the only non-white people in the restaurant and seemed to get the least attention from the waitresses. I could just be overreacting, but I was observing how others were treated just because it crossed my mind. They have about 20 beers on tap, and are available in two sizes (in case you are drink limited, as I was). There are big screens all over for the sports crowd. Indeed the place was crowded. Everyone seemed to be having a good time also. Good social atmosphere. There is also a nice outdoor area here, which is great for a beach town. I think I have seen bands here before.
