**July 2025: Late Morning Visit**…read more Spotted Cow! The city of New Glarus is basically a Spotted Cow destination! Wherever you go most restaurants will serve this beer, which is very malty. This beer is only available in Wisconsin but if you want the seasonal stuff visiting the New Glarus Gift shop will give you the most options Tuesday-Saturday: 10am-5pm I think the tasting option is $8 for 3 pours. It's a good way to try out all the different options before deciding on which bottles (or cans) you want to buy. The Stone Soup (Seasonal) was my favorite, but you can't go wrong with the original Spotted Cow. I think the majority of the seasonal beers were in bottles. I think they come in packs of either 4 or 6. The prices here are pretty comparable to if you buy them from a Wisconsin Target, but the big box stores have less variety. Since I was doing a big cross country roadtrip my weight allowance could not' accommodate everything I wanted *cries* and they don't ship their booze *cries* Next time I come back I'll make sure to make bring an empty suitcase! If you're visiting New Glarus your trip won't be complete without a visit to the factory (gift shop)!

An Unexpected Hidden Gem! What an unexpected surprise! I was…read morejust driving through the area with no intention of stopping at a brewery when I stumbled across this place. I've been to a lot of craft breweries, and I have to say this is now one of my all-time favorites. The concept is simple but awesome this isn't your typical bar. There's no indoor seating, but there's plenty of outdoor space on the other side of the parking lot. You come inside, pay $8 for a beer, and get to keep the glass. Or you can sample three beers for $8, keep the glass, and get a coin for a free beer in town. They also sell beer to go and other fun merch with their logo. The staff was super nice and friendly, and the vibe was relaxed and welcoming. I tried the Oktoberfest, the Pilsner, and the totally naked. All were fantastic! If you're anywhere near the area, definitely stop by you won't regret it.

Everything about the place is unique and welcoming, from the regulars, to the dog Lucy, and especially Pat the owner and bartender. All made us feel welcome, even if we were first-timer tourists. The atmosphere is exceedingly unique and cool, with many personal touches all around the place. Lots of Blatz beer memorabilia, brand new shuffleboard table, a giant elk, moose antlers, vintage skis, an Elvis clock, cobalt glass bottles, a handmade bar, and lots more eclectic decor. The beer selection was top notch, and even better taps than we found in New Glarus, where everything seems to be New Glarus beer all the time (nothing wrong with that). Really good focus on local and regional brewers, there were taps from Titletown, Common Thread, Hop Garden (Belleville), Lena, Vintage, Central Waters, Summit, and Hinterland. New Glarus Berliner Weisse in the cooler, along with old standbys and unique craft beers. Another plus is that they update the beer list on beermenus. If beer isn't your thing, they also had an impressive selection of over 40 whiskeys. We didn't think they served food here, but lucked out since there was a Saturday special of homemade pork/chicken gumbo, which was served with homemade cornbread and bourbon butter. It was really tasty. The owner used to be a chef and ran a restaurant here prior to opening the Ale House. Our bill for two beers, gumbo and a big pretzel was $16, that's cheap for such high quality. They are only open 3 days a week, and it's just one guy running the show. If you are traveling a distance or bringing a group it would be wise to call ahead. The one-star reviews here reflect more on shortsighted personal entitlement than the establishment, from my experience.

It's the perfect place to spend a relaxed afternoon -- good beer, friendly staff, and a laid-back vibe that's never too crowded. The space itself is great -- high ceilings, big windows that let in tons of natural light, and a nice open layout. The outdoor patio overlooking the pond is especially beautiful when the weather's nice. It's also dog-friendly, which we love! Our pup is always happy to come along, and we even picked up one of their dog toys from the merch area -- easily her new favorite. They've got some fun merch for humans too. The beer selection is solid, with something for everyone. We've really enjoyed the Lil Louie Lager and Badger Club Amber, and they always have a few rotating taps that keep things interesting. The staff has been consistently friendly and welcoming every time we've visited. If there's one area for improvement, it's the atmosphere. The space itself is awesome, but it sometimes feels like it's missing a little energy I'd love to see more events, live music, or themed nights to bring the place to life. It has so much potential to be a real community hub. Overall, Wisconsin Brewing Company is absolutely worth checking out great beer, great staff, and a beautiful, dog-friendly spot to unwind. With just a little more happening in the space, it could easily be a five-star destination.

It was super nice. She gave us a few samples to try, and then we placed our order for a Vienna beer and one other. We took it outside because they were closing early because of the holiday. Inside was super cool with tables. You can see the brewing tanks outside was equally as impressive with some patio tables and chairs as well as some chairs along the water and some outdoor games. I wish we had more time cause I would've loved to have tried some food and maybe some other beverages. Definitely will come back.

Most recently went here to try out their brunch. We ended up getting their breakfast tostada,…read moreshrimp & grits, Texas toast, and a cinnamon roll. The best thing was the cinnamon roll, which they get from a local bakery. Large, soft, and gooey, it made for a great dessert to split. The Texas toast with meat was fine, but felt a little small. The breakfast tostada was definitely more like breakfast tacos, but tasted decent. I was most excited about the shrimp and grits, but they kind of let me down. Something got keyed into the system wrong, so we only ended up getting plain grits at first. We went over to ask the waitress about this and she apologized and got us a cup of the seasoned shrimp and bacon to go with. The grits on their own really didn't have much flavor, but they did have a pooling of oil or butter, not sure which one they use. It definitely benefitted from the shrimp, which were also in a pool of butter. The bacon pieces were nice and crisp and gobbled up without making it to the grits. Overall, I don't know if we have aneed to go back for brunch, but their lunch/dinner and beer options are always great!

The place was packed for a Thursday night, and, movie-esque, when PIC and I entered, all eyes were on us. (We WERE wearing flannel, but not locals.) Apparently most were there for a birthday party. However, soon all patrons were welcoming and chatty with us. There was only one bartender/server/busser who was busting his butt doing triple duty. He was friendly and quick (as he could be) to take orders and refills. The curds were terrific! Warmy and gooey, with a panko-crust. Spotted Cow on draft, in throwback commercial pint glasses. Reuben was spot on except needed more meat!! Unfortunately, bartender didn't honor free New Glarus tokens. Wah wah wahhhhh. FYI. Prices were cheap enough though, and I didn't make a fuss.
