I got the Cali burger and i love the prime rib beef burgers patty it was juicy and flavorful. I like the fresh guac on it. Comes with bacon lettuce and tomatoes. . On Tuesday free taco choice of carnitas l, al pastor, or asada with a purchase of adult drink like cocktail or beer. . The beer selection on draft is big. I loved the twin cider pineapple one alot. . Also wing Wednesdays which is a dollar per wing. Lemon pepper one is my favorite. It has the perfect lemon zest. Its not plain, not salty, but had lemon and pepper which is good. . My husband and I just stopped here for dinner. It was delicious! I got the "Bees better have my Honey" wheat beer and he had the Boont Amber ale. Cold and tasty. We were both in the mood for a burger and this was the place to be! He had the Cali sounds and I had the classic. I upgraded to onion rings and it was worth every cent - fresh and perfection. He had a salad with blue cheese dressing and it came out fresh with lots of delicious variety. The food was hot, perfectly seasoned, and exactly what I wanted. We will definitely be back. This popped up on my husband's IG and we just had to check it out! I am so glad we did too. This place is a hidden gem! When we went after work on a Friday, the place was not all that busy. There was a guy at the bar and a group sitting down enjoying beer and bites, then there was us. I did notice that throughout our stay that many people came to get pick up orders and eventually it picked up with families wanting to dine in. I ordered the veggie burger, my husband got a burger and so did my mother in law. We also shared onion rings for the table. I ended up getting a sour from Jack Rabbit. My husband and his mom got beer too! We were so happy with our server. She was really attentive and nice. My go-to order is the Gobbler with a side salad, and it always hits the spot. We couldn't make up our minds and since all items sounded so yummy we tried the following: Sliders- made with deliciously seasoned hand-pressed mini burger patties with a thick slice of sharp cheddar melted on top & served ona homemade mini brioche bun. It was simply mouthwatering. Carne Asada quesadilla - is made with a delicious grille pressed flour tortilla and filled with thinly sliced asada seasoned beef, asadero queso, and drizzled with seasoned Crema on top. Hand-dipped, thick cut, beer battered, onion rings - well the name says it all. They're outstanding. All I can say is don't overthink this...Just get 'em. Wings - fried honey glazed and buffalo. They're super tender and juicy and cooked to perfection. we had two styles, buffalo and honey glazed (sweet and savory). In short: Hop Junction is quaint clean locals pub with great service and yummy food! I don't know when I saved Hop Junction on my Yelp account lol but it had been sometime! It popped up last week and reminded me. So I took the boyfriend because he loves beer and burgers and food looked bomb The place didn't disappoint! Food: we tried the short rib grilled cheese which was amazing. It had a super crispy buttery crust on the sourdough bread and delicious filling with tender meat, white cheddar and Gruyère cheese it came with au jus which was kinda sweet and oniony but didn't even need it. The only thing that might make it better would have been some garlic added to the butter on outside crust! We also shared the down south burger which was sooo good! Nice applewood smoked bacon, Swiss, bbq sauce and thick cut freshly made onion rings The only thing I would change were the fries weren't salty or crispy enough for me since they were a little thicker toward a steak fry. But you can also get a side salad so I'd try that next time. Drinks: my man got a beer called algorithmic divergence and really enjoyed it. I ordered a raspberry lemon drop and then second guess myself thinking it would be too sweet but it was great! Came in with friends for the first time on a weeknight around 4:30pm. Made it in time to order from the HH menu. This is in the same plaza as 24hr fitness. We were the only ones in the restaurant and service a bit slow but there was Only one waitress who took our orders and also made our drinks. They give you a lot of fries from the Happy hour so definitely shareable but the chicken tenders were extremely dry. My friends ordered the sliders from the HH and said it was good. I Ordered a beer flight. They were out a lot of beers about 10 but I was able to try the following 4 beers. Porter was my favorite. Food was ok. My wife and I used to love coming here for the amazing elevated Indian cuisine and fusion menu. They had a full Menu, including craft beers and American pub fare. The offerings were imaginative and flavorful, cooked to perfection. We recently stopped in and discovered it had been sold and the menu re imagined. We got three batches, the plain, sweet and spicy, lemon pepper, and a basket of fries. The food is homemade and tastes amazing. We also ordered one soda. Everything cost us only about $20. I just got back from a long international trip and jet lag was real. I tried calling in my order at first but the phone just rang and rang with no one picking up but thankfully they're on grubhub so I was able to order pick up. I got their short rib grilled cheese with a side salad and an order of fries. Man they do not skip on portions! The fries and salad were basically for 2 people and the sandwich was stuffed with tender short rib meat. Everything was delicious and hit the spot for jet lag hangover! Went to dinner with hubby to celebrate some good health news. Was in the mood to try something new as we tend to frequent our same favorite spots. Fried chicken sounded good, so I yelped "fried chicken", and Hop Junction (HJ) came up in my search. Many HJ reviews mentioned their chicken wings... and someone commented on Wing Wednesday where HJ does wings for $0.80 each. Other reviews said the wings were nice and crispy, and that their sweet and spicy wings were great. 80 cent wings definitely piqued my interest, so I made a quick call to HJ to inquire as to if they still do Wing Wednesday (as I noticed they are under new ownership as of August 2024). Phone call confirmed that yes, "Wing Wednesday" is on, and still $0.80 a piece, all day! Told hubby HJ was where we should go, and he was game. Showed up at HJ about 6:10pm. The place wasn't crowded. One table was occupied and the server said we could sit anywhere we liked. Several TVs around the place, showing MLB and NBA games, which was nice, as the NLCS game was on. Sat down, looked at the menu and decided on drinks... "Dun workin'" for hubby, and "Get crooked craft seltzer" (bc it said pineapple, passion, guava, which sounded good) for me. Letty, our server - and the only one working out front - was great! Very friendly, chill, very honest and fun. She said all the wings are good... and surprisingly said the pumpkin spice wings were good too. But also said, if we aren't pumpkin spice fans, then don't get 'em... so we didn't. We started with sweet & spicy wings (can get wings in an order of 5 wings at a time) and an order of fries. When we walked in we saw a sign on the door for pumpkin spice wings, but just couldn't do it - not a big fan of pumpkin spice, and let's be honest, pumpkin spice chicken wings?? Just sounds weird. The wings came out after about 10-15 minutes, along with carrot sticks and ranch dressing. The wings were nice and crispy, not too much batter, and the sauce was sweet but not too spicy. The fries were good, not crispy but more on the softer side... they had good flavor as they were dusted with seasoning... slightly salty, but possibly a tactic to make one more thirsty? When we finished the sweet & spicy wings, hubby ordered more of the sweet & spicy, in addition to lemon pepper wings and buffalo wings. These seemed to come out quicker than our first order, but with the seltzer and sharing the order of fries and wings with the hubs, my belly was already feeling pretty full! Had to at least try one of the buffalo and one of the lemon pepper wings... the buffalo was solid, pretty good flavor - not at all spicy and didn't have the kick that Letty said... perhaps it was just our batch? The lemon pepper was good... almost like a light lemon pepper sauce - I had expected them to be more dry, with a lemon pepper coating in the breading. These were second to the sweet & spicy wings. Letty suggested next time we try the plain wings, which she said are nice and crispy, but not overly battered. Seeing as we only partook in wings tonight, I had to ask Letty's opinion of their prime burgers... she said everything they serve is good - and she is honest... said she wouldn't work at a place where the food isn't good. first timer. it's a small nice restaurant, i wasn't helped right away so i was kind of awkwardly standing behind customers at the bar until i was noticed. did a pick up order for the short rib grilled cheese. it was good but it was overpowered by the cheese. Hop Junction is tucked away in a quieter neighborhood so it's nice to visit a pub and restaurant that wasn't deep in downtown. We went during their Sunday Brunch and brought our young kids. They had a great selection of food everyone can enjoy, but limited enough so you're not overthinking your selection. They also have bottomless mimosas with different fruit juice offerings! We tried mango and pomegranate and it was great to have this while watching the start of the NFL season! I had the French Toast, but they use a Japanese style milk bread to make it. These are super fluffy and super soft, almost jiggly! You can get it a la carte or with eggs and your choice meat. Personally, I got the hot link! We were met with a super kind staff that was tentative to our needs and seemed to know the perfect time to come back to refill our drinks! Tried to be patient but it took forever our orders to arrive and when it did get served it was served one entree at a time. In total we had to wait about a hour for all of dishes to be served. Unusual in my experience for an eatery. Not a very good experience. Customer service not there. Almost seems like they didn't know how to respond to having people in the restaurant. Waited for at least 45 minutes for a cocktail and over 1.5 hours for our wings and still never got served. we notified the server that the table next to us that came in after us had already been served their food. She said our order got sent to another table and that they were preparing our order right away and that our bill would be comped. Waited another 20 minutes and low and behold, they served the table next to us with wings, and no food for us. They served our food to 2 different tables and never got our food. My wife and I came in on a Friday date night expecting a pub with Indian fare. It was my mistake not reading a few reviews down where it says the old cook has left, and that they do not have the same menu as before. To say as kindly as I can say, this was some of the most disappointing food I've had in Sacramento. We ordered a chicken tandoori pizza, and a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and fries. Basically, all of the food was insipid, to associate that pizza as chicken tandoori is actually an insult as there was no spices or seasonings that make it taste Indian, to add insult to injury, the food was severely under seasoned and tasted like they boiled the chicken a few hours prior. They could have added a butter chicken sauce or a chicken tikka masala sauce as the base, but it was bland tomato sauce. The bacon cheeseburger did not fare much better, as it too was extremely under seasoned, with burnt bacon, and an Costco-esque bun. I overheard a conversation between the owner and a regular who asked how the new menu was going, and the owner looked sad and disappointed and said people are looking for comfort food during the winter months.... Can you say chicken tikka poutine? In all honesty, please hire a new cook, and really lean into your concept as you could have a really great Indian American fusion spot with a good selection of beer. You might want to consider renaming your pub as well. By taking the easy way out and creating a haphazard Indian-Mexican-American menu, your restaurant has become lost in the sauce.
