This place is pretty awesome. So before a recent Yelp event,my buddy and I decided to pregame next door during Happy Hour at Florez Bar & Grill located on South Land Park Drive. Parking is very plentiful as they share a pretty big lot with many other tenants. This place is pretty cute-on the smaller side but they do have a covered outdoor seating area which I'd imagine is a pretty fun place to sit when the weather is right. The customers definitely feel like it's a mostly locals kind of place-a true neighborhood hidden gem. They do have a bar area with two TVs-this is where we sat for our quick drink. During this visit, I only had two drinks -King Kong La Xingona($6.00)-which is an IPA and it was really tasty. -Pomegranate Margarita($8.00)-a very fruit forward tasting drink that took the zip out of the tequila with a very pronounced pomegranate taste-I will order this again. Their happy hour food menu is pretty extensive but I didn't indulge,so will save that rating for the future. The bartender here had a nice dry sense of humor and was very pleasant to deal with once I realized his personality. Overall I really enjoyed this great neighborhood local spot and wouldn't hesitate to come here again down the road if I ever find myself in the area,especially for happy hour-a very solid spot. read more

We visited on a Friday night and were seated right away, tucked nicely away from the crowd. Every member of the staff was welcoming, and our waiter provided excellent service. The house margaritas were delicious and generously sized. I ordered the albondiga soup, included only meatballs, rice, and cabbage, with no vegetables. It wasn't to my taste, and I would likely choose something else next time. My husband enjoyed the two-combo platter with a mole enchilada and a chile verde burrito, with the mole enchilada being his favorite. My daughter ordered three street tacos with a side of beans, and she especially liked the beans We all agreed that our dishes were a bit overly salted. Despite that, we would most likely return. I have lived in south sac almost my entire life, and was today old when I learned that fantastic Mexican food and cocktails exists right under my nose. I'm almost embarrassed to have gone for decades without this becoming my go to spot for local Mexican, but that's about to change. I went with a large group and got to see a variety of dishes. They all looked absolutely delicious, bursting with colors. The drinks were no different, with the Mangoneada as a stand out. I got the Chilaquilas Verdes and it's easily the best I've had. Everyone else in the group of 18 was complimenting their various dishes throughout the meal. My wife and I ordered the ice cream and plantain dish, and ended up sharing with half the group because it was so tasty, and also so much! Service was fantastic, with a very attentive server for our party's orders and multiple servers for bringing our food, refilling chips and water, etc. She even figured out a way to charge individual parties for the food so we didn't have to split it up a dozen ways. A favorite last minute Happy Hour Dinner choice for my family beause of price, food and location. They bring complimentary chips and salsa while you look over menu and wait for food (which in all the times I have come here, comes fast) Staff is friendly and accommodating requests to sit inside or out, or with a view of one of the few TV's if thats your wish. I got a La Xingona draft which hit the spot and paired nicely with my go to favorite of 3 empenadas from the happy hour menu. I got 2 cheese and 1 carnitas, which came with a Habanero salsa rich in flavor and heat. The empanadas are very tasty, crispy on outside filled quite nicely with cheese/meat and almost a meal unto themselves. Other dishes ordered were the enchiladas, carne asada quessadilla and steak.and shrimp fajitas. I sampled a little of the other dishes, and all was fresh and tasted very good. Went here with some of my old friends. We haven't been together for a few months and needed to catch up. It was a Monday so a lot of places are closed. I search around and they were open. We wanted a place with a bar in case we wanted a few drinks. This fit the bill and not to fancy or expensive. I arrived and took a seat at the bar. There were a lot of people here already for lunch. I think the fire department was having their holiday get together in the outdoor seating area. It is big so lots can attend. I didn't want to start drinking so I just got a water and looked at the menus. They server breakfast still and a lunch menu. Pretty cool. The waitress was really nice. Finally my biddies started to arrive. We had seven of us total. Moved from the bar to a few tables. The waitress put some tables together for us all. Still in the bar area so not far to go. Most of us ordered breakfast. I had the chorizo breakfast burrito and it was great. We had some drinks to. Their house tequila is really smooth. Such a great time visiting with friends. Service was friendly. There was an outdoor patio with tons of seating. Inside had a good amount of seating and a bar area. Good place to come and get a good meal. Very cute spot that's attached to a strip mall! We stopped by for their happy hour and they had really good deal! Their empanadas were super yummy and the filling was extremely flavorful. It's a cute space with a legit bar. Fridays are super busy but good vibes with mariachis! They have a great happy hour too! Good drink options with great prices and food. I just so happened today in the plaza taking care of some business and I happen to see this restaurant, but I had no idea I was here the whole time. But at the time the place for everything and it was meant for me to step into this restaurant and I'm so glad I did. At the time I went, it was happy hour! In fact, happy hour would just begin, and boy was excited! I really dont like giving poor ratings but this place earned it today. My last visit the Cadillac Margarita was amazing actually contained liquor and the food was good. Service It was busy but no one was at the bar when I arrived. I asked for a menu. Bartender got distracted for a period of time talking to a female guest sitting at the bar that walked in after me. Later this guest was either an manager or owner wearing a sports coat as she walked behind the bar and made a drink. Eventually the bartender took my order. I ordered the Cadillac Margarita and flautas. The margarita tasted like juice, I asked him how much liquor was in the drink. He said he put an extra half ounce. No way this drink had 1.5 ounces. Another couple was seated at the bar by waitress and got full service, menus brought immediately and were brought chips and salsa. I asked the bartender if i could get some, he said the waitress would bring some. Another couple was seated at the bar, they got menus, chips and salsa. I asked bartender again, he brought the chips and did not apologize or anything. After a long time the food came. No freaking silverware. Am I to eat this with my fingers? Others at table had silverware. This bartender is incompetent. There was another bartender there when I arrived but disappeared, saw her come back about 45 minutes later. Not what I expected--but this this casual spot, tucked away in a strip mall has good food. I was planning on starting my evening with an ice cold beer, but once I learned that have a full bar I ordered a Cadillac margarita, my date got a modelo especial, on tap - just how we like it. I wanted to try something different such as Chile Verde or, Chile Colorado, however, I'm such a steak girly that I went with my standard and ordered their sizzling Carne Asada plate. My sizzling date ordered their shrimp taco plate. Both dishes were good. My dish came with a thin well seasoned piece of carne asada, red rice, and refried beans. My date's dish came with not red rice and black beans. His rice was moist, and tasty. Turns out it was cilantro lime rice, but tasted as if it was made with chicken stock from scratch, regardless it was good. I always say the mark of a good Mexican restaurant is and their beans and rice, and chips and salsa. Their beans and rice are good, and I think it's great they have different bean and rice options (black/brown, red/white). Unfortunately, the chips and salsa were lacking, the canned tomato sauce based salsa was bland. In the two hours we spent there, not because it took us two hours to eat our meal, but because we were having a good time, the only thing lacking was the salsa, everything else was on point, and the service was good. If they can get their salsa game together, this could easily be my favorite Mexican restaurant on this side of town. Will we be back? Sure. We'd like to come back for breakfast or brunch. They also have a little bar, where you can enjoy appetizers and drinks which I thought was pretty cool. read more

Flores bar & grill offers authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price in a cozy environment. I really like the location since it's sort of tucked away and not in a super traffic congested shopping center. There's plenty of parking each time I've dined at the restaurant. The food is packed with flavor and spice! I loved the shrimp taco plate. The aioli sauce was delicious! My husband loved his wet burrito. The portions are huge so you get plenty of bang for your buck. Service was great...our server was very attentive and never let us run out of water or chips! I've been coming here for years. I love the staff, I even had take out a few days ago that was good. Usually everything is consistent and delicious. However, tonight was subpar AF. Food came out room temperature. Ordered top shelf margaritas and they tasted like it came from a pre-mix. This is just not what I'm used to at all coming here, tonight is a big disappointment and I hope not a new low expectation. Staff is still great of course. I dined at Glorez Bar & Grill this afternoon, for my girlfriends sister birthday lunch with friends amd family. We had a party of about 30 people, so our entire party was given the outdoor patio area to dine in. Being that it was Winter I wasn't sure how cold it would be outside, but the outdoor patio was fine. Especially with the portable heaters that they provided and bit by our tables. Most guests were there when we arrived but a few more trickled in after. Which gave us time to look over the menus before orders started being taken. Once our waiter arrived our orders started being quickly taken for meals and drinks. And it wasn't long before everything started arriving with a team of people. Drinks: POM Margarita Paloma Food: Empanadas Carnitas Abondigas Super Burrito There must've been at least 5 people in total, brings food and drinks to each table which was done so smoothly. And the food was de-lic-ious! I haven't had Abondogas in so long, but it smelled so good just from it being set at our table. So I knew it would be good; and the same was true for the Carnitas Empanadas. The smokieness and light spice of the sauce, put them over the top. SPECIAL NOTE: Sometimes after eating and socializing, someone dressed as the Grinch came in a Santa suit and hat to pay us a visit. He made his way to the birthday girl and greeted her, and took pictures with her and her friends. He garnered so much attention while with our party, that some other guests came our to see and take pictures of him. My gf's sister's friends we so excited to see him and greet him and take pictures with him, which was so nice to see. After leaving we all wondered who he was as they left in the same way they he came. After some minutes our waiter came back to check in on us, and I remembered the Christmas hat. And soon realized our waiter was the one who snuck off to play the Grinch for our party. Overall: Absolutely delicious food, and amazing staff. Thank you to all of them, especially our waiter for going above and beyond for our visit and my girlfriends sister and her birthday lunch. So it's hard to leave a review when I enjoyed my food, but the rest of my party did not seem to enjoy their dishes. Florez has been around ever since I was a kid and my parents would always speak highly of it. Granted we don't live near by and only go once in a while when in town. So it has been a couple of months since the last time we went. Prior to that it has been years. This visit the staff was great, but again, it sounds like the rest of my party didn't enjoy their food. Either the order was wrong or the beef was too gristly. So it puts a bit of a damper on my thoughts. I would say try it out and see what you think. For my dish it was very flavorful and I enjoyed it. Fish tacos were decent with good flavor but drowning in sauce which made the tortillas fall apart by the time i was eating the first taco. Im giving 1 star because i cant give zero. The health department needs to visit this place daily. My family and I used to come here for celebrations, happy hour after work, etc. There were times over the years that I had some stomach discomfort after eating here but honestly didnt associate it specifically to this restaurant because it didnt happen every time. But its too frequent now. And this wednesday 6/10/26 my grandmother became violently ill after eating a hamburger here. Im done with this restaurant. Florez came well recommended by folks on Nextdoor and local Facebook groups and they did not lie. Easy parking, great service, and delicious food! Fantastic portions as well for a fair price. I usually get the three items option and split one with my husband. I've tried and have enjoyed the tamale, flauta, and quesadilla. My husband usually gets the menudo. Restaurant has been decently busy each time we've visited, but never long enough where we'd have to wait for a table. There's also a heated outdoor patio available. read more

Met some friends here for drinks/dinner on a Sunday. Place was almost completely empty. Started with a Cadillac margarita, wayyy too sweet, actually made my stomach feel sick. Couldn't taste the tequila it was so weak. Then got the super burrito with chili verde. Not sure if it was the sauce they pour over the burrito but it had a terrible flavor of really strong raw garlic. This used to be me and my husband's go-to spot for super burritos with carne asada. I USED TO LOOOOVE this place and order at least 1x and sometimes 2x times a week. I've been disappointed many times from getting their take out, quality went down: guac is browning, tomatoes/salsa look like they were made the day before and the meat tastes like it's old and from the day before - dry, not seasoned at all and breaking apart like it was ground beef. I met my bestie here for happy hour and definitely recommend if you are looking for a good happy hour menu. Most of the margaritas are 6 to 7 dollars and they are really good. I had the blueberry and pomegranate margaritas because I couldn't decide so I had one each and really loved them. They were not too sweet nor too tart and I appreciated that they had agave nectar and not just some simple syrup. The sugar rims were a nice touch. Chips and salsa were very decent and the guacamole was delicious. We were not super hungry so we had the cheese empanadas which were recommended by the waiter and very good. I was expecting really small ravioli sized empanadas but these were actually pretty big and I could not even finish them. Service was great and somebody was always coming to check on us and see how we were doing. This must be a popular place for dinner because it did get pretty busy while we were in there.
