We recently visited HopCat and had a really solid experience overall. I ordered the Hangover Helper Burger, which was decent and packed with flavor. The only thing I'd change is the egg -- if it had been left a little runnier, it would've taken the burger from good to absolutely awesome. My wife had the Madtown Grilled Cheese and her immediate reaction was, "Oh my gosh, this is good." Safe to say, it was a hit. The fries that came with our meals were perfectly seasoned -- crispy, flavorful, and hard to stop eating. We also shared the cheese curds, which came in squares topped with green onion, and they were absolutely to die for. Easily a standout item and something we'd order again without hesitation. They also have an extensive beer selection along with a solid variety of mocktails, so there's something for everyone. Service was prompt and attentive, and we had no complaints there. Came in an hour before close (called ahead asking what time the kitchen was open until before), waited at the hostess stand for a few minutes to be sat, no one came over, even though the restaurant was dead. Finally got someone's attention, got sat, ordered quickly. Took like 10-15 minutes for our drinks to come. Beer was served in a can, lol. Whole dinner order was messed up. I understand mistakes happen, but the lack of service as well as the multiple mess ups makes me super iffy about this place. This place never misses! Ive been to a few hopcat locations and this one is top tier. I got a side salad, the supper wrap, and cosmic fries. The side salad was huge and their balsamic might be the best dressing I've ever had. The wrap was extremely fresh and stuffed with toppings. The ratios and ingredients made it a huge wrap i could only eat half. You must get the cosmic fries with the cheese sauce! They were crispy with the perfect amount of salt and pepper. With cheese sauce its a 10/10. The only weird thing was that the tomatoes were not sliced. I ended up taking them off because it was weird eating whole tomatoes in a wrap. Overall this is an amazing place. Im so happy they opened up by where i live! The cosmik fries are pretty good and I've had their salad before which is also decent. I would say the two dishes I've liked here have been the pretzel nuggs and the stellar brownie. We probably wouldn't have made a point of it outside the manager coming over and letting us know we were next which we never were. Ordered pretzel bites as an app and they were quite good. The cheese sauce is delicious. Entrees were buffalo chicken Mac and cheese, Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the rodeo burger. Mac and cheese was a big hit. Chicken sandwich was difficult to eat as it was too big for the bun. Negative the breading fell off the chicken very easily. My experiences with HopCat have typically been at the Royal Oak location, where everything is stellar. I'm sure it has everything to do with my LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters making it perfect every time. However, we tried the Partridge Creek location this weekend and were extremely disappointed. The food arrived lukewarm, we had no silverware or refills, and the store wasn't as clean as Royal Oak usually is. The biggest issue was the restaurant policy regarding condiments: they now charge extra for ranch and mayo. Because of this policy, our table of four ended up sharing one single mayo for four separate burgers just to avoid the extra charges. We have never experienced this kind of nickel-and-diming at the Royal Oak location. While we still enjoy HopCat food, these policies at this specific location mean we will not be returning. read more

The food tasted stale and was not fresh, the hamburger bun was old and dry, cheese curds tasted like old grease and fries were salty which was quite disappointing. We have come here several times and I just don't think we will be back. It's a bummer because Partridge Creek is losing a lot of restaurants so the choices are limited. We were treated well so it wasn't a matter of service. They have a very nice beer selection. I wouldn't get a cocktail here though. They are very generic and sugary. The food is just gross. I have tried several things on the limited menu. Even the burgers are sub par. If you're ok with mediocrity then it's fine. But there are too many places in the area that are much better. read more

Visited HopCat, Saturday, June 6, 2026. Service was decent. Food, not so much. I had their bacon peanut butter jam burger. The meal presented as a greasy mess. The fries were dripping in grease. I think the cooks simply dumped the fries from the fryer directly on the plated burger. The server made everything right. My wife's burger was raw on the inside and about the size of smashed golf ball. Also, our appetizer came to the table the same time our food came to the table. The waiter was upset but this was not his fault. There is a management issue that is not addressing the poor food quality. We will not be back. read more

This is a new location in Partridge Creek Mall. It was busy when we visited on a Saturday night. We had a short wait for a table. Service was quick and friendly. I enjoyed the ambiance with all the tv's and bright colors. They have an awesome beer list with tons of local breweries from around Michigan. Food was great. I would highly recommend the Pickleback chicken sandwich. It was very "dilly" and full of pickle flavor. Also, the Elote Queso was a great appetizer that everyone enjoyed. Lastly, the Stellar Brownie dessert was soooo good! It was a great end to a great meal. We have visited many other Hop Cats around the state. This one did not disappoint. Overall a good experience. This place is part of a local chain, I think they've got something like nine or 10 other locations in Southeast Michigan. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and very attentive. I was pleased to see all kinds of crew members making the rounds and checking on things. The beer menu is extensive and includes at least 25 items on tap. This is clearly what they're known for. Lots of local brews and beers from far away as well. The menu is sufficiently varied that everyone in your party should be able to find something they want. I tried one of the burgers and found it to be fine but not overwhelming. If I ever come back I don't think I'll get a burger I will probably try something else. The french fries were a little over seasoned and probably could've been a bit crispier. Having an up charge for a side of ranch was a little frustrating also. It's a large space and they make good use of it. All kinds of fun artwork, good music, and various other interesting things to look at, including a number of televisions. This would be a great place to host a birthday or retirement party. I've noted the service level at this location does not compare well to the brand nor service levels at their alternative local spots. We came on a Thursday evening during happy hour and we had a great time! We each got a happy hour drink: husband got a beer and I got a mule. Both were good! We ordered the space curds. They were different than we were expecting but very delicious! They come with a Bloody Mary aioli, which I was not a huge fan of (but I also don't like bloody Mary's) so we asked for a side of ranch to go with it. We were charged extra for the ranch which was annoying. Husband ordered the $9 burger and beer deal. The burger was over cooked for his liking. I ordered the pickle back chicken sandwich and it was very good! The server was great and made sure we had all our happy hour drinks ordered that we wanted before the time was up. It's been a while since we've been to a HopCat location and we attended the soft opening for the Partridge Creek location this past Friday and WOW! They've improved quite a bit! The Royal Oak and Detroit locations have been hit and miss, but I was really impressed by this new location. Started with a nice FRESH M-43 and the lobster dip. Delicious! The lobster dip is served with fried wontons rather than tortilla chips and it was amazing! The sweet chili sauce was also very good and a great compliment to the dish. It actually had heat and wasn't just from a Frank's Red Hot bottle. The Nashville Hot Chicken was HUGE and despite its size, the chicken wasn't stringy or tough. The spice is just about right for the style of sandwich and it's actually an oil based sauce like they do down south. One of the best I've had outside of Nashville. The Bar Zee burger was good as well and I'm glad that all of their burgers are now two patty smash burgers. I've had some hockey puck burgers at other locations, but these were cooked perfectly. The house made bar cheese was great and the bacon was flavorful. The creme brulee cheecake was good, but made me wish we had actual creme brulee. It had all of the right flavors, but was missing the texture. All in all a great spot. Our service was awesome and the food was hot and well prepared. Food was subpar and I didnt get that much. I cane with ny two grandbabies . Got a kids cheeseburger and a sampler. Cheeseburger was hard as a rock, it was crispy not the bread the hamburger. Just because they are kids does not mean they dont want a good burger. As for the platter what a joke, the "cheese curds" were bread with maybe some cheese, the corn dogs , which for my grandbaby, they were so bad she wanted nothing to do with them, hard and gross. We stopped in on Friday to try this place out and were quickly seated. The bar area is very big with many seats, huge plus for me! It's very open and modern and has outdoor seating as well. Went here just for the Brunch Menu with my mom because it looked bomb and it was! Not sure why it's only available on the weekends but the food and Cherry Dreamsicle was so yummy, we got the Truffle, Bacon, Bagel and the Waffle with blueberry syrup. We also got a side of scrambled eggs. The bagel comes with cosmic fries but I got tater tots so I asked about that and I was able to get them at no charge thankfully. The Nashville chicken sandwich was not spicy at all, but the chicken portion was bigger than expected. The turkey pesto grilled cheese was ok. Pricey for a grilled cheese on white bread. We've been here many times before and majority of the time it's good other than a couple times where food has come out cold. However, tonight was an experience on a different level. The most disgusting restaurant experiences of my life. My daughter ordered the Killer Mac, which she likes and is the reason we come here. When she pulled out the spoon from the Mac it had a dark residue on it. I touched it and smelled it and it was ice cold chocolate sauce. They took a dirty spoon from a dirty dessert plate and put it right in my daughter's Mac and cheese. We flagged down waitress and she offered a new spoon and we explained that the dirty spoon was in her food and she offered to replace the food. She brought what out what we hope was a new Mac and cheese for my daughter and said the manager would be over. A man in a bright green t-shirt that said Trainer came over and apologized. I asked how could something like that happen and he just said he didn't know. The bill came and they did take off $40 of my +$100 bill which was nice but honestly I thought they should've at least taken care of the bill after something this egregious. read more

I'll get the good things out of the way before explaining my 3-star rating. Our server was very kind, the food was fresh, both my fish and my chips were crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. My gripe is the overall experience. We got seated right away but after we ordered, we sat and waited on our food for nearly 40 minutes. Server did a good job explaining the situation, but I wish we were told how long the wait would be before we were seated. Because waiting is waiting whether you're seated at a table or waiting for one to open up. If we were told it would be about 55 minutes from when we were seated to when we'd get our food, we would have declined the table. This is why I think it's important for the greeters to not seat people until they're actually ready to be fully served. read more

However, they have my favorite German beer on tap(Paulaner) and a top notch staff (one of the bartenders is from another bar I frequent).
