What a gem tucked in inside sleepy suburbia. Red vibe decor with dimmed lights, crafty cocktails by super talented mixologist, shoestring fries in the paper bag makes this place busy and vibing. What sets this place from many similar once they have a whole wall of vinyl records that you can pick and ask a dj to play. How cool is that. Prices are reasonable for the area. Service is superb. I love love the vibe at Red Ryder!! The beastie boys playing in the background at the perfect volume was just a great setting. I do however have to mention the overwhelming fragrance in the air, I almost had to leave ...i do not want to smell sandalwood bath and bodywork's while I'm eating ..or trying to enjoy my beer. (I could overlook it though) the comfy temperature, booth seats, and lighting were fantastic! The happy hour menu was large we got the dip du jour, it was fantastic and the dip to pita ratio was perfect , we got the burger and Brussel sprouts too. The burger was great and big came with fries, the Brussel sprouts were pretty great with large chunks of salty pancetta, a little too greasy for me , I think they were deep fried rather than roasted but I still enjoyed them!! read more

Mixtape night was great because of the eclectic mix of songs we haven't heard played elsewhere. We appreciated the DJ's selections because you can hear pop music anywhere. I appreciated that it wasn't so loud that I couldn't hear the conversation at my table. I dislike having to shout at a bar, and worse yet, I don't like listening to other people shout. As far as drinks go, everyone's cocktails were well made and throughly enjoyed. I recommend the pink skies cocktail, but I'd ask to leave off the hibiscus garnish because, though it looked nice on top, I didn't want to eat it and it got in the way at the end of the drink. The decor is swanky and the LPs and DJ booth give it a great vibe. Seating is comfy and there was no wait, which was a bonus. We look forward to returning. read more

I do not understand the high reviews of this place. Had two appetizers and neither of them were good. The deviled eggs were mediocre at best. The pizza rolls were not as good as those frozen ones You can buy at the grocery store and airfry. They were doughy and flavorless, and the pizza sauce was almost edible. The bartender was hovering the whole time trying to listen in on our conversation . And the place is pricey. We went next-door and had twice as many drinks and food and it was the same price. The atmosphere is really kind of weird. It's all about the music and this sort of hipster vibe. If you like a hipster environment, this is a place for you. But I felt the place was awful. Our server, Carol, was very knowledgeable about the menu and kept my iced tea full. As you can see from the photo, the menu is limited. We originally wanted the clam strips but Carol said that they were all out and that they often runout due to their popularity. What a fun place! We arrived early to beat any potential rush. Got seats at the bar (comfy chairs, excellent foot ledge) and chatted up the bartender to get the lay of the land. Food and drink menu updates regularly. We tried too many of their drinks - all unique and delicious. My favorites were Cinnamon Girl and Festivus. For food, we enjoyed the Pigs In a Blanket (substantial) and the juicy burger. They filled up in the 2+ hours we were there. No wait, but very steady. Stopped in with a relatively large group on a Thursday and had great service. Small plates are unique and tasty and cocktails looked fun! Very cool space! My only complaint is that it was VERY loud for 6 pm and hard to hold a conversation with anyone other than the person immediately next to you. read more

On our first visit to Red Ryder, we were excited to try the clam strips. Unfortunately, they were out even though we came in early for dinner at 5:00 pm. I ended up trying the Red Ryder Burger, which I wasn't very excited about. I really didn't feel like a burger, and Red Ryder doesn't have a super huge menu with lots of choices. The burger was good, and not as spicy as the waitress led me to believe. It wasn't something I would go out of my way for though. I felt the same way about the Stuffed Banana Peppers we tried as a starter. They were adequate, but not something I would be in a rush to try again. I almost took one star off because we had a 5pm reservation and they seated us right at the door. We FROZE!! Then the delicious food and drinks took over to warm us up. We had fried cheese appetizer. Very good, with that Pepper Jack kick! I ordered a martini. Very nicely done!! My entree was the gumbo. It was enough for 2 meals! So tasty!! Had to take leftovers in a cardboard to go containers. We were initially skeptical of all the five start reviews but decided to try it anyways. Lo and behold red Ryder does deserve the five stars! The food was absolutely amazing-- truly elevated bar food on another level! The service was top notch and everything came out so quickly. We loved loved loved the Ryder burger and the grilled cheese with pulled pork. Both were great combos of sweet salty and flavorful! New bar and restaurant alert in old town Plymouth! Cool vibes. For you music junkies, they have Macintosh equipment (more for decoration than actual use) but love it! The music is great! There is a DJ in the corner but I think it's a playlist not a live DJ. Love the vibe and the playlist. The music is so great. My husband and I started off with an aperol spritz and old fashion. It was pretty loud inside but we were able to hear each other. It was loud enough that we couldn't hear our neighbors which was great since they were next to us. For dinner, we ordered a perch basket and clam strip basket. You have the option of shoe string fries or better made chips. The basket comes with coleslaw too. The perch was pan friend and the clam strips were fried. Both were great! We both got the shoe string fries with our basket. Ok so wow, I have a favorite place in Plymouth now. I can't tell you enough how much I'm in love with this place. Is the wall of vinyl just waiting to be plucked and played? I don't know. Is it the wide selection drink menu items, everything from dad beers to high end cocktails? I don't know. Is it the retro vibe and the amazing staff who makes you feel welcome and takes great care of you? I don't know. Is it the cool, retro vibe and tucked away location? I don't know. New place and had heard mixed reviews so we wanted to try it ourselves. It is a fairly open space, a bar, a few high top tables and some booths. It is loud, and no it's not because we're old. We were seated at a two top. Our server asked if we had been there before, we told him no. He explained the menu and took our drink order. One water and a glass of wine. We ordered the whipped feta dip, with honey and pita. That was tasty. We then placed an order for the wings And the burger. We asked about the side of coleslaw with the wings. We were told no the wings do not come with it. So we ordered a side of coleslaw. As far as the burger goes they do not offer Swiss or American cheese. The burger was tasteless, no seasoning, not even salt. An attempt was made to toast the bun but failed. There was very little sauce on the bun, I asked for more. The wings were flavorful , but the amount of sauce was not sufficient, we had to ask for more of that. And yes the wings do come with a side of coleslaw. Overall, I would not come back for the food. The burger was $18 and comes with a small portion of shoestring fries. And to call the coleslaw a side , that is being generous. It's a ketchup cup. We got the bill and they still charged us for the coleslaw which we did not eat. It's only a $1 but really? Your guy doesn't know the menu so we get charged? We did not bring it to their attention, again $1 but do better. Overall disappointing. Cannot recommend for the food. read more

This is our kind of place! We are bar sitters, our preferred location when it's just the 2 of us, and this is a good one! We find the bartenders knowledgeable here, and we do enjoy craft cocktails. We did the Watermelon Feta salad, and the mussels. Both were exceptional. Love the atmosphere too, a DJ spins real vinyl albums that line a wall, and for some reason it's our taste in music. Great new gem! I met some friends here while I was in town based on their suggestion. They had mentioned it was quite new. This small establishment has a big personality with an outstanding staff. The menu wasn't too large but just right. Unfortunately I do not recall what I had for my main course, but I do remember that I had their homemade meatballs as a starter. These were fantastic! The decor is cool. Musically themed and has a really solid cool factor to it. Not too dark and not too light. Overall, just right. Would I go back? Whether for a few drinks, appetizers or dinner, I would easily come back. Knowing that this is a new establishment, I hope they do well. Went there on recommendation of a good friend. Mostly attracted to the music theme and vintage Mac equipment. Possibly arrived too early @ 5:00. It was cold inside and mostly vacant. The metal stools were especially cold. Things improved after 1 hour when temperature was increased (thanks to our server) and patrons started packing in. Wife wanted to immediately leave because of the cool temperature but soon changed her mind after a beer was consumed. The fish and chips and chicken fingers were great! Very tasty. As were the shoestring French fries. The chips and dip were underwhelming and would not order again. The beer menu was ok but wish there was Guinness on tap to go with my fish and chips. Guinness in a can is not the same.. The record collection is awesome. I will be sure to come back at a later time when I have more time to enjoy the DJ. The sound coverage in the room was good but the speaker choices don't do justice for the Mac gear. But it is a tough environment to expect high end sound reproduction. The server we had was fantastic. Could not be better. And I observed the entire staff to be engaged and attentive. They were genuinely interested in providing the best hospitality. The attention to detail and cleanliness of the property shows the ownership has put a lot of time and effort into the business. It is a very comfortable place to spend an evening. My birthday was Saturday so my friends and I came here for dinner and drinks and I was excited to have them all in town. Unfortunately, I was rather embarrassed that I selected this establishment. Took over 40 minutes for the 6 of us to order drinks, and we asked the hostess twice if we had a server. The server was super stressed and annoyed when we placed our drink order. I really liked my old fashion though! We ordered appetizers for the table which were just ok. The whipped feta was good yet the brussel sprouts were weirdly sweet. Then our server told us she was leaving out of the blue before we ordered dinner. Many of us a tad confused in a way since there were a lot of people still there but she assured us it was ok because they pool their tips. We ordered dinner from a different server and the food came out at random times. My chicken was not cooked all the way through for my wedge salad and neither was the chicken for the chicken sandwich my husband and friend ordered. We never saw a manager to say anything and our new service was never around. And when we went to say something we were informed me had another new server....Having 3 different servers was definitely random. We sat at a table next to the bar which would have been ok if other patrons would have not kept backing up into our table. At one point a customer literally had his butt on our table! Wait staff kept running into my chair since I was on the end. Just not a comfortable atmosphere. I will not be back. I was super excited about the concept but the service was a major downfall, the DJ played down tempo music on a Saturday night which was a snooze fest and 3 out of 6 of us had under cooked chicken. The music was loud, but the 4 of us were still able to have a conversation without raising our voices. The service was very attentive. Our table ordered the hamburger, caesar salad with blackened chicken and the fresh perch basket. All were very generous servings and would be favorites if served in a high-end gourmet restaurant.
