They have booths, high tables, low tables, and outdoor seating. I went with the classic with cheddar cheese and fries for the side. It was a stellar burger, you can taste the freshness in the ingredients. The fries were great and come in a generous portion for a side. Amazing sauce options, the chipotle ketchup is to die for. Stopped in while in town for the Beyoncé Cowboy Carter concert (I know this review is a little late, but better late than never!) and wow, this place was amazing! My server was absolutely top-tier. I'm so sad I accidentally threw away the receipt and couldn't note his name and he mentioned he was new and worked at the bar but he made me the best frozen margarita I've ever had. Truly incredible! My roommate and I received a $10 coupon for Hopdoddy, so we decided to visit it; it was my second time here. Unless someone can find free parking nearby, you will have to pay to park in the street (that's city life for ya), but an hour was about $1.45, so it's not the worst! - Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (4/5): I love the texture of fried chicken; it's pretty crispy, and you can feel the spice kick in! I enjoyed the sauce they used. My first bite the last time I came was mesmerizing, but I don't know if it had the same effect this time. Also, eating was messy because some of the content was spilling out, but that might be my only gripe. - Hot Honey & Sage fries (3.5/5): Not bad, but the Parmasean Truffle fries I ordered last time reign superior. These fries are made from sweet potatoes, so as the name suggests, they had more of a sweet & spicy taste; I didn't mind it, but my roommate wasn't a fan, so it's something to keep in mind. At the bottom of the bowl, you can see that the fries are drenched in the honey sauce. I don't think I'd order again, but I'm glad I tried it and would suggest others (especially those with a sweet tooth) to give it a chance! It pairs well with the Chipotle Ketchup and Honey Mustard sauces. Prices are steep (about $23 for a sandwich and fries...), but the quality of the ingredients is evident. Food I like that they recommend there parm. fries they where great, the burger I get the Cadillac Burger, sauce and the arugula gave the burger the flavor. Meat was bland. I would have to say big issues was the shiner bock I got. The beer was served in a margarita bowl and when I smelt it, it had a strong smell of margarita which gave the beer a funny taste. It goes to tell me how well do they wash the glass cups. Beer should be served in a glass beer mug and margarita in there traditional glass bowls. read more

1 star -- Good Friday, Bad Hospitality My wife and I were in River Oaks Plaza waiting on a table at another spot when we decided to walk around. We're walking through the plaza and we spot someone sitting at a booth through the window at Hopdoddy, eating, headphones in, phone out. We're like, oh it's open. That's when I told her she had to try it, especially the Big Larry frozen margarita. Door was unlocked, so we walked in. No one acknowledged us immediately. Eventually someone called out "can I help you with something?" from the back. I've been in the service industry since I was 14, first job, first write-up, all of it, and the one thing that was drilled into me early is that the greet is everything. It is the most important moment in service. And "can I help you with something?" is not a greet. You know why they're there. You have food. They have hunger. Come around, make eye contact, make them feel welcome. But I let it go. I said yeah, just here to grab some food. Short reply: we're not open. Fine. What should have happened is someone coming around with a smile saying, "Hey, we're not quite open yet, give us about 20 minutes and we'll take great care of you." That would have been hospitality. That would have had us sitting on the bench outside counting down the minutes. Instead, while I'm waiting near the door for my wife (who had stepped into the restroom), the employee I'd spoken to walks over to the guy at the booth, who, now that I'm looking, is eating food that isn't anything Hopdoddy serves, and they share a little laugh. That's cute. Then a bartender comes out with a bucket of ice and earbuds in to let me know they're not open. I'm already aware, I tell her. Just waiting on my wife. Then the bathroom door opens. I think it's my wife. It's not, it's a woman in a white button-down service shirt who walks out, ties her apron around her waist, and leaves without acknowledging a single soul. Door's still unlocked. Then a guy comes out of the kitchen in a chef coat and one of those little weird chef hats that look like they belong in an emergency room, and tells me, with a little stance, that they're not open. I'm standing there in pastel chinos and a collared shirt. The energy was unnecessary. I told him cool, I'm just waiting right here for my wife, she's in the bathroom, we'll be out of your hair. He said alright in a way that wasn't really alright. I'm a recovering a**hole. I recognize passive aggression intimately. I pulled the bartender aside and asked if it was customary to leave the door unlocked while closed. She said it was so staff could be let in. Ma'am, bartenders get in at least an hour before service to set up. Anyone showing up in the next 20 minutes wasn't about to be ready to go without completely blowing their opening side work. Who exactly are you still letting in? Lock the door. The hours of operation are posted on a window pane about 18 inches from the door, on the complete opposite side from the direction we entered the plaza. There is no way I could have seen them. An unlocked door and a man sitting inside eating is all the invitation anyone would need. None of this was on us. The laugh, the stance, the dismissiveness, the complete absence of warmth, none of it. And on Good Friday of all days, you'd think Hopdoddy would be ready to hop to it. Easter's right around the corner but the only thing hopping out of this location was us, right back out the door. I never got the burger. Never got the Big Larry. read more

Me and my husband decided to go to Hopdoddy and since this was the closest location to us we ended up there. We went on Friday night. Something to note if you haven't been to this location: - This is inside the River Oaks District outdoor mall so parking is a struggle but they do have a free parking garage for the whole area I've only been to hopdoddy twice so this is a pretty new review for this place. As a vegetarian I am always happy to see 1-2 options. I ordered the black bean burger with all that comes with it. We also got Parmesan garlic fries to share. Everything came out in a timely manner, the burger was decent wouldn't call it amazing. The sauce on the burger was more creamy than sour so I felt that the burger needed some tang like ketchup, but there's always condiments on the side. The Parmesan fries are great! I also thought the sauce that came with it was more creamy and neutral so I got ketchup with it. Tasted much better to me. Overall, my husband got the chicken sandwich and the bill came up around $30 which seemed a lot for a burger meal without a drink but not bad. I do want to go back to try their other veggie option. The sweet potato fries were simply awesome and became awesomer after I dipped them into the chipotle dip. They have a wide selection of draft beers. This was such a fun food experience. Heading there for a work outing with colleagues. The place was great for our party of nine as we wanted to go to a restaurant where we could hang out, eat good food, and not have to feel formal. For some reason sometimes the food is really salty. Specially the truffle fries and some of the sauce they put in the burgers. We've complained about the same issue before. Hopdoddy is a nice little gem in the ROD. My neighbor and I took a stroll over for happy hour and we were not disappointed. The drinks are $5 and they do not skimp on the alcohol at all. I got the vodka mule and after the second glass, I had to tap out. The fries were also pretty good. The staff was great, the restaurant wasn't too loud and although we sat outside, I really appreciate how the AC was not on full blast inside. The Burger was amazing! I ordered the good night good cause and added bacon. They asked if I wanted fries and I said yes and they put in a large order-I guess that is my fault for not specifically saying small/regular. I wouldn't order the fries again. I tried both of the house made lemonades and didn't care for either one of them but there are a lot of options. My friend had the margarita and she said it was great. The restaurant was really really cold and it caused our food, especially the fries to get cold quickly. I had to get a jacket and was still really cold. I was sitting past the kitchen along the wall in a booth facing the front door. You could see grease build up on the floor coming out of the kitchen and the floors were slippery.
