How have I not reviewed this location? I've been coming to this Hopdoddy for years and I'm always pleased with the food and service. The diablo used to be my go to burger but now I get the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich isn't hot in spice but it's well seasoned and I really enjoy the slaw that comes on it. Pair that with their green chili queso with fries and I'm a happy girl! If you have room, I highly recommend one of their delicious shakes; you really can't go wrong with Hopdoddy. read more

We enjoyed The Diablo 10/10, patty melt 10/10 (sorry forgot the name) and truffle fries 5/10. Burgers are much smaller than pictured online/menu, but they are super yummy! Very busy day at Hopdoddy. We were out shopping and stopped in for lunch at about 1 pm on a Saturday. We didn't wait long for our food and our burgers were good. I got the Roosevelt with bison, goat cheese, fig jam, and arugula on a wheat bun. It was a great flavor combo. Initially they forgot our truffle fries but they brought them out a few minutes after we reminded the waiter/food runner that we ordered them. It's a burger joint so I'm not expecting a fancy restaurant atmosphere but it is really loud in there since I think the floors are all concrete. I understand you get what you pay for and their food is good quality. For burgers, one order of fries and two sodas it's on the steeper end in terms of price for an order at the counter place. Would stop in again for sure especially if craving a burger. read more

Probably one of the most worst service/ managerial directions I have seen in a while. Got there to a large line of over 15 people with one register manned, it's a cashless restaurant so opening another register is easy enough. 20minyes goes by and another register finally opened up with 10 people still in line. Only reason we didn't wait longer was a couple behind us let us know we could order with the bartender after they ordered. Since you have to be assigned a table it makes it difficult to wrangle 2 small children for 20 minutes and keep them entertained. While the food was good they even messed up my order afterwards. We have been here plenty of times and while this isn't the "norm" there always Seems to be something wrong here. Highly recommend going somewhere else. read more

First off, this place is expensive! But they have some of the most innovative burgers. I cave. So good. Now, the staff is super nice and they are trying their best. But when this place gets busy, it gets dirty really fast. The tables are greasy, spillage everywhere. The staff knew nothing about the menu. The lady said the "Regular" shakes were big and SHOWED us a cup and it was way smaller than what she had said for 8 dollars.. Also halfway through my burger, I saw part of the raw egg on it. And my fiancés egg on his burger was raw as well so we asked them to make another one to give them another chance and they were still raw. For a 15 dollar burger.. I expected something better. I LOVE hopdoddys, since my undergrad days in Austin, happy to see a location in the DFW area. I came to grab a burger. It took me back 10 years, the hybrid bar ambiance concept is great. I was able to watch the U.S. Open over a Very tasty burger. The Parmesan fries are much better than I recall. Came here for a burger fix, and it use to be really amazing. I just can't quite put my finger on it. Atmosphere/Ambiance - 4.5/5 - Great location, and plenty of seating. They have long tables for good sized groups. Staff - 5/5 - Friendly. They were able to handle my requests with no issues at all. Food/Drink - Ordered the following: El Diablo - 4/5 - Added extra peppers and an egg. It is still my go to burger, but it use to be much, much better. Double Bacon Jam - 3.5/5 - The jam is good, but sometimes overpowers the burger. Hot Honey & Sage Fries - 4/5 - I really like the combination of this one. At the end of the day, I think the reason of the lower rating, is due to the cost now. The burgers alone are $11 and above. Will I be back? Since plano open we have been going there , loved the service , the quality of food and the hospitality always good service ; until the past few visits , from wrong order to undercooked hamburgers, they put bacon on my burger I am allergic to pork , the veggies burgers were horrible full of uncooked black beans . Consistency is the name of the game it is a shame when you go to a place for the longest time and they changes from service all the way to food quality that is not the way to build business . My husband and I stopped in for a late-night bite. We started with the Parmesan truffle fries, which were a bit soggy and could have used more salt and seasoning. The ahi tuna burger was surprisingly awesome. Not a tuna steak but found tuna so I didn't know what to expect. The teriyaki and wasabi sauces on it were very good. It was cooked perfectly medium rare. The fries were disappointing as it seemed like I got very few decent sized fries and mostly just small scraps. They want you to order from the counter even though I was by myself to sit at the bar. They brought the fries before the burger by several minutes which was disappointing. Fantastic happy hour! I loved the mother nature burger and both the sweet potato fries and the parmesan fries. My burger was super filling and flavorful, though it kind of fell apart which is normal for a big burger. We also got a couple of drinks and they were decent and overall a good deal. I really like their happy hour! Half off everything on the menu when you sit at the bar, and this location has a pretty big bar! It's a newer location and is quite clean and spacious inside. Customer service was meh, food was meh and the whole vibe of the place was meh. Maybe 5pm Super Bowl Sunday had something to do with it. Maybe the crew working had something more to do with it. We found this to be a great little spot with a unique selection of menu items. The restaurant was clean and well designed and the staff we encountered were all extremely welcoming and helpful. The items we tried were all well-cooked and delicious. The reason for 4 stars is because their menu is for specific tastes. I can imagine a few friends of mine walking out without ordering due to this. That being said, we will be back to try a few more things but don't think this will be a regular spot for us. read more

Summary: Definitely do not recommend this place unless you enjoy the drinks, care about the meat quality, or want the upscale dining aesthetic. The menu is horrendous. It specifies that the Nashville Hot Chicken burger has fried chicken and that the Wagyu Beef Specialty burger has beef, but not that the Magic Shroom (mushroom) burger has beef? The other burgers in that specific section list beef and bacon when included, but the mushroom burger doesn't, and yet has beef by default. Who designed this? Also, the flavors were wildly underwhelming. The Nashville "Hot" Chicken burger was not spicy in the slightest. The black bean patty was disgusting. It was extremely bitter and almost impossible to eat. Truly, it was one of the worst vegetarian burger patties I've had in years. Lastly, the prices are too high for a place serving burgers. The total for three burgers, one appetizer (fries), one drink, tax, and 15% tip was 82 DOLLARS. To be clear, we didn't even order the speciality burgers. Tried this place on a whim and it was so good. The black bean patty was suprisingly really good, perfectly spiced. I got the El Diablo which was actually spicy, but like a flavorful spicy. The monteray jack cheese, caramelized onion, and the spicy sauce worked so well together. On the side they had a chipotle ketchup which I really liked. Our visit at this location was terrible we order our food with some modifications the burgers came out nothing like we order them also the burgers tasted awful everything at this location is not the same from cleanliness even the women bathroom had broken soap dispenser even the table we sat on was not completely clean I had to use some wipes to clean it myself especially the chairs had food on them I also noticed the table close to us when they got the food everyone of them took few bites of their food and left barely eaten I have gone to other locations in the past I know how the food should taste I made a comment to a manager only to blame it on the corporate office instead of taking responsibility and make it right for their guest. Service is incredible. I have Celiac and they were very attentive about my disease. Received compliments from the staff and enjoyed every interaction. The food is divine and the gluten free is extremely delicious. I'm usually not a fan of gluten free bread but their burgers are to die for. I highly recommend giving this place a shot! I love Hopdoddy's but apparently I can't venture farther than the Loop 12 location in Dallas. That is the only one that doesn't disappoint. I tried the Plano location. It's clean and pretty. Nice people and service is great but the food was just NOT as good as the Loop 12 location. I get the same order every time so I know what it's supposed to taste like but I am at a loss at why they can't do medium rare burgers. They will tell you they can, but it never is. The Belt Line location does the same thing to me. I've tried the BeltLine location several times thinking it's a fluke, but nope they continue to disappoint. If you ask me, I'll still say Hoppdoddy's is still my favorite burger place but it'll have to continue to be the Loop 12 location in Dallas. read more

Ok... so I came to the Hopdoddy Plano (a Preston & 121) on Easter Sunday 4/20/2025 and had the great pleasure of meeting Quincy. He was gracious, kind, welcoming, attentive, and just made excited about the food. Which was wonderful since I bought food for my sisters and didn't get any. On Monday 4/21/2025, I came back and Quincy was here and had me and my kiddo over to Travis who was equally just as gracious, kind, welcoming, and attentive. Yet, this time we came for food and maaaannnn did Travis steer us in the right direction with the truffle fries (so good). There was a gentleman sitting adjacent to us that suggested the sweet potato fries and oh my goodness!!! The life I experienced with those fries. All I can say is Happy Hour, the food, the people we all perfectly presented through Quincy and Travis. I truly appreciate both of those great people. read more

Easy to order right when you walk in, they give you a table number when you order you grab your drinks and head to your spot. Servers bring out your mixed drinks and food straight to your table. Swerve was super fast. We did go on a Sunday around 4pm so it may be more chaotic on peak hours. Place was clean, eclectic and modern. Restrooms were nicely stocked and pretty fresh. I had a magic shroom burger and HOLY MOLY the goat cheese spread and pesto ((chefs kiss)) so good. My kid had Mother Nature and it was literally inhaled in record time. He said it was phenomenal. Parm-truffle fries were well coated and tossed. I could have taken a bit more "truffle" flavor but I do love me some Shrooms.
