Love the food, the ambience, and the customers that dine here. We love supporting small businesses, especially when the quality and service are excellent.

I saw this place on yelp and I was very curious of the buffalo tots so I figured I'd swing by and give them a shot. They definitely impressed. I brought my family here on a Saturday night around 6pm and the line was out the door. We got to the counter and the cashier was very pleasant. I ordered the chicken Sammy and a hot dog for my wife, the double stack with bacon and buffalo tots for myself and the ok onion for my daughter. There isn't much seating on the inside, approximately 6-8 tables but there is a ton of seating outside. We sat down and about 10 minutes later our food was ready. The double stack with bacon was great. I really enjoyed the dad sauce. That was delicious. The buffalo tots are amazing! What a combination. I could eat these all day. I had a bite of my wife's "ok sammy" and the meat was tender. If they had a fried option I'd love it. Overall this place was great. When I return to Texas this place will be a must stop. The burgers are good and the tots are great! You won't be disappointed.

Amazing burger. Fun. Great for the kids..... fries fried in tallow for the win. Rootbeer float was solid. Staff was friendly.

Dad Jokes absolutely delivers. I got the double cheeseburger and honestly, the burger is the star of the entire place. It has this perfect mix of smash-style crisp with the thickness and flavor of a proper diner burger. Tons of flavor without being overly greasy -- just one of those burgers that hits the second you take a bite. Fries were... fine. Nothing crazy. But I didn't even care because the burger carried the whole experience. The place was busy when I went, which should tell you everything you need to know. Seating is minimal, borderline rough, but the staff was super friendly and never made me feel rushed. Even with the crowd, the service was quick and everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. At the end of the day, it's a 5-star spot for me because the burger just hits. Plain and simple. If you want a legit great burger, this is the move.

7.8 Super solid burger, was in town visiting and saw the reviews for this place. Super small inside, can be tough to find seating.

If we were friends sitting across a table and you asked me where to get a burger? DAD JOKES!!! Ya have to go! I'm not a burger person, I'd much rather chicken but I'm craving it already. The patty itself was big (they don't skimp you like McDonald's does), it tasted like actual beef, and was seasoned well. The fries were delicious too. And then of course, everyone receives a nice dad joke on their tray which is actually really cool for starting conversation or sharing a laugh with your group. It was pretty small in the building, which is totally okay but I bet the patio would be awesome. The food came out fast. Nobody disliked what they got. Owners are great too! Get this on your list we're officially taking people all of the time now!

Of course I have a great weakness for burgers and this place is dangerous to my arteries. But it's so worth it. It's a bit snug indoors but don't let that fool you because they have a big outdoor seating area with games for the family. It was hilarious watching kids play games at the table and seeing their siblings annihilate them. Personally, I thought it was so sweet that seeing how there are regulars coming in and chatting up the owner. Of course the burgers themselves are fantastic but I have to say, the tots are the hidden gem of the menu. Overall a wonderful welcoming place with equally delightful food.

Will I go back, yes, will I give an honest review, yes. I ended up here on a Sunday night at around 7:30 PM. I've been wanting to try but just been waiting to be in the mood for a burger, well today was the day. So when I got there, it appeared that there was about 5 to 6 other people waiting for their food but I kinda didn't notice as most of the people were outside. Either way, I don't mind waiting. I did order a double cheeseburger and I stated I wanted American cheese, pickles, raw onion, mayo . Unfortunately, after waiting at least 30 - 40 minutes, I got a double cheeseburger with lettuce, no mayo but onion was on it. I'm not one for hot lettuce and well it's not the biggest deal. It's not really easy to get off your burger when it's kind of melted into the cheese. Did I eat my whole burger, yes, I was starving! One thing I will say I think for the double cheeseburgers the bun could've been a touch bigger. I started to eat my first half of my burger, and my bottom piece of bun was already almost gone. I chose to get fries with no salt and the reason is because I know I'm gonna have a lot of salt in all the other items. That's why I do it. Were the fries anything to write home about no. There's definitely room for improvement. You want a person to come back for your burger but you also want them to come back for those fries and it wasn't because there wasn't any salt. It was the fries themselves. They should be straight cut fried but bigger, so when you bite them, there is still potato inside. Ketchup on fries with a burger is iconic. I did try the Dad's Signature sauce (on the side) which is like 1000 island, it was tasty, I think it could be a tad less thick but I would add to my burger again. Inside is definitely small but I was looking enough to grab a two seater table as it was pretty chilly outside. The workers were friendly. The only thing I will say again is when a person does order something a certain way it's kind of imperative to get that order right. Could I have given the burger back yet but I wouldn't be that dramatic over the letters it's not something I'm allergic to. It's just I don't like it on a hot cheeseburger and again I was hungry. They have ice cream but I had no room, next time I will try. Most people did get a cone though while I was there. Great choice of cold glass sodas as well.

Yelp 100 Challenge 2025 #54 Dad Jokes Cheeseburger serves a joke with every entree and side. It's a cozy little restaurant with most of the seating located outside. I'm not a fan during the summer, but during the fall and spring I wouldn't mind the outdoor seating. This restaurant specializes in smash burgers with a few different variations of burgers. Open Wednesday - Sunday Ordered online for pick up and waited in line a few to pay. Overall the food was delicious.

Just tried the burgers to go. We were looking for a new place to grab a burger and it did not disappoint! It would be better to eat there rather than a coldish burger at home, but it's very small and smoky. We had burgers and the smashed tots. The gal at the register was very friendly and polite. We'll try again!

I was wondering what all the rave was about with a simple burger joint. Dad Jokes is not just any typical burger joint; it's a hilarious one! They have jokes pinned all over the restaurant and jokes come with each meal. If you have a joke, you can write it down and post it on the wall. We tried the Smoke Stack, Salad, Hot Dog, Fries, and Buffalo Tots. The Smoke Stack was a spectacular double patty with the juiciest blend of meats on buttery buns. I opted out of the BBQ sauce but it still had a hint of sweetness. The kiddos enjoyed the Cheeseburger and Hot Dogs along with the Mac and Cheese. We also were big fans of the Buffalo Tots. I thought the fries could have used a bit more crisp and the Jalapeño Ranch needed a bit more of a punch. Other than that, we had a fabulous experience. Whenever we're craving burgers, we'll be back!

Why does this place have so many five star reviews? It looks a little sus, but it's not. It legitimately is a great locally owned burger joint. Even if the name is silly. This is a no-frills, burger joint with nice touches (specialty bottled sodas, dad joke with every meal, and fresh scooped ice cream). Yes the name is silly, but Dad jokes aside this place is someplace you should check out. The burgers are delicious and not overly cheesy. They have a couple house varieties, like the California burger with white cheddar and avocado, an OK burger grilled onions, or a Smokey burger with bacon jam and bbq sauce, which all come with double meat patties. They do have a single patty burger - with a variety of toppings that you can add on. Both my son and I ordered the Daddy Stack which was a double meat burger and American cheese, lettuce, onions, and pickles with their house sauce which I believe was 1000 island with maybe aïoli. I was surprised that my burger did not come with tomatoes which I would've wanted but may have overlooked that it didn't come with it. But the burger was absolutely delicious. It's a smash style burger, soft buns and ample shredded lettuce, and onions and did not disappoint. (The onions are thinly sliced.) I would say it's the best damn burger I've had in Frisco. Yes even better than Kenny's, Wolf, Rodeo Goat, Haystack (across the street), and Edmonds in Plano. They have fries and tots that are both cooked in beef tallow. These came out super crispy and were really great. Probably the best TOTS I've had in a long time. They called them smashed tots, which I was concerned that they would come out crushed or broken down, but they were a little squished, but that didn't matter. These were great and extra crispy. Almost potato chip crispy on some of the smashed parts. Are smashed tots even a thing? Good stuff. We ordered the combo which comes with a burger, side and a drink, and it was actually cheaper than ordering everything separately. Even if you're gonna get a water. I was thinking about ordering some fresh scooped ice cream that they serve, but I was so full after the burger and tots. I decided to skip the ice cream, but will definitely try that next time or blueberry cobbler that I saw. Service was fantastic. Everyone on the staff was genuine and seemed very interested in making sure that we were doing OK and that the food was delivered as ordered. This must be a family business because everyone was hospitable and helpful. You know maybe dad's watching? I met John who may be the owner or maybe the manager who checked in on us. My son works at Blue Goose and when John and came by and checked on us, he looked at me and said now that's a good manager. They do have dining inside, but my son and I ate outside in the patio area, which is a fairly large tree covered gravel patio. This is probably too hot to sit outside during the day over the summer months. But tonight was fairly cool and very pleasant. Parking is a little tough since the construction is going on, but we found a spot pretty fast. You just need to go around the back. It is worth the extra effort. If you're looking for a great, casual burger place, this will not disappoint. This is now my number one place to go. ***** stars!!!

But first, I went to the counter to order my burger and fries from the friendly cashier. I also ordered an orange-cream soda fountain drink, one flavor among the pure-cane-sugar drinks they offer. No high fructose corn syrup here. The burger was actually much better than I expected. I thought it was quite delicious, and the ingredients were quite fresh. The portion size was good, too. The fries were good, but they weren't the standouts in this meal. The burger and the orange-cream soda were more memorable. Although the place was very clean, and I was sitting indoors, where there are lots of tables and bar seating, there was one aggravation: aggressive fruit flies that have no fear of humans, so it was nearly impossible to swat them away. Thankfully, they were not mosquitoes, but it was impossible to keep them from crawling on my cup and food no matter where I sat in the large dining room room. Although the burger was good, prices are probably a bit high for what you get. That together with the fruit flies resulted in my three-star rating. If you can find a day when the flies are calmer, and you're not paying out-of-pocket (as was the case when I went), it might be worth a try if you are needing a quick meal within walking distance of your hotel.

Sorry for memory lapse) listened well and made suggestions accordingly. Actually, all the staff were friendly & outgoing. We had the egg roll appetizer and scooped up every bit of sauce - was excellent and looked pretty too! That reminds me that the current menu is a fair bit different from several I saw posted in the photos - whether they've streamlined or change it seasonally, not sure, but what we had was top-notch. Also had a couple of Pineapple-tini's, not terribly sweet, would certainly drink again. Shared an oven roasted chicken - would have eaten the entire thing myself given a few spare seconds. Crispy, not overcooked, garlicky potatoes, spinach just cooked and seasoned well, my mouth is watering thinking about it again. Saved room for Bananas Foster bread pudding and again, well-done! I will usually try the bread pudding - searching for the world's best, I guess... Anyway, this one hits right - addition of bananas and some sugared pecans along with a caramel syrup made the flavorful bread pudding base stand out well. Definitely going back, looking forward to trying more dishes. Also, having a patio at the Star is nice, and their interior is cool & casually swank as well. I ate the popper, lb&j, and the cowboy, which I love (ate the smokehouse in the past and that's also a top choice). The PB&J - I'm a sucker for jam in a burger and the blackberry jam was refreshing and cool and paired great with the bacon in the peanut butter while still complimenting the meat. The Popper had a lot of rosemary lime aioli which was delicious to bite into. I've been here several times and narrowed down to my favorite 4. The sides (waffle fries, extra sugary drinks, onion rings) could be improved but while the sliders are pricy, they leave a great impression.
