We hadn't had a good restaurant burger in a while. There are a lot of burger places in our neighborhood. Kenny's is just a few minutes' drive away. So it was a natural choice. We ordered the classic "double-double" burger, Kenny's steak bomb sandwich, and the Asian salad. The burger was delicious, nicely grilled, juicy, cheesy, and greeesy (which means it's good!). The steak bomb was great as well. The shaved ribeye, melted provolone, mushrooms, onions, and peppers all came together to make a fantastic sandwich. The beef steak was savory, and the portion was generous. We also loved the Asian salad. It came with cucumber, tomato, red onion, and avocado, along with toasty cashews and a sesame ginger dressing. All the veggies were fresh. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, checking on us a couple of times. The restaurant has lots of wall decorations, such as photos, pictures, and funny signs. One interesting thing: their napkins each have a different "wise" saying. Boy was this place PACKED! But luckily they had a table for two waiting for us. We had a gift card and had never been before. All of the portions were just massive. We took home 3 Togo boxes lol. They were super busy . But the waitress was very calm, and super nice. The food was delicious. I had the gluten free bun and she gave my gluten allergy proper attention. Explaining what was gluten free and what wasn't . She even said that they even had a gluten-free brownie sundae. The burger had a really delicious fresh smoked taste . And the gluten-free bun was really good. It wasn't the normal dry gluten-free bun. The table next to us looked like donuts , they had a stack of donuts . The burgers here are fat and juicy. It's wood fire grilled burgers at Kenny's. I got the jalapeño guacamole burger and it was pretty good. Great presentation as well. Also got the truffle fries, which were decent. The burger is the main attraction though. Lots of tables inside and service was decent. Definitely would come back for more burgers. read more

Wow! Another Awesome Lunch at Kenny's!!!! We ordered a bottle of Silver Oak Cab, a burger along with the yummy parmesan truffle fries!!!! Manny was our server, and the highlight of our dining experience was we were his first ever to open a bottle of wine. I'd had Kenny's bookmarked to try ever since I moved here. I don't know who this Kenny dude is but it's apparent he's running the food scene. There's a Kenny's everything! I always eat a burger before my blood donation because I typically run on the anemic side so I try to intentionally consume red meat a couple days before my pint donation. Enter Kenny's burger joint. I walked over to grab a bite. I was seated immediately and the place began to really fill up. Service was great! The server came right over, mentioned the daily hatch chili burger and that was it. Ordered it and some truffle parm fries. Food was out super quick. My burger and fries were yummy and very filling, couldn't finish either of them. We had a very nice dining experience this Friday evening! We were lucky to be seated right away even though the restaurant was pretty packed. Ted was our server; very friendly, helpful and efficient. Also gave his reccomendations on beer which turned out great. The truffle cheese fries and burgersbwe ordered were okay, nothing exceptional but I truely appreciate that they allow you to substitute for veggie or turkey patties for no extra charge. I love ALL of Kenny's restaurants and this one is no exception! First of all, I love that it is table service...not counter style. My waitress Allison was charming and took very good care of me. I likea place that asks how you want your burger cooked...and it is PERFECTLY cooked! I have had to send my burger back at some other "gourmet" burger restaurants because they were over- cooked. Great burgers and the staff are very knowledgeable. The staff were so great with understanding my gluten free diet. I wish all places could be as wonderful and understanding. The food is so good. The burger patties are full of flavor and all of the veggies and other items that you put on top are fresh and they were very flavorful too. I keep giving them a chance because overall I am a Kenny's stan. The service at any of their locations is always the highlight of the visit, but I just wish the food here shined too. For me the burgers have always just been average. Well last night for dinner I decided to try a turkey burger again & the waitress asked if I wanted it well done. Yes, I do believe poultry needs to be fully cooked. I dress up the burger get it just right & visually it looks amazing. I'm so hungry at this point all I'd had that day was a couple pieces of toast. Only to cut into the burger & in the words of Gordon Ramsey "it's fucking raw!" I give up yes the manager made it right & took the burger off of my bill, but then I had to wait on something else as my friend ate her dinner. I will say the replacement fried chicken sandwich was good, so now maybe I've found a go to here. However, after that the waitress lost my friend's payment card for several minutes. Recently went to Kenny's because we just wanted a great burger!! We honestly have not been there in years but remembered it being good and a good sized burger. To start, we were fortunate to get seated almost immediately and our server was super nice - Aidan, I think. My husband and I split a burger because we remembered they were big. Our son ordered Zed's straight up. They looked great and tasted great but were much smaller than they used to be - when there was only 1 location. We also ordered fries which are à la carte - yummy but crazy small portions. The server was nice and had them cut our burger before he brought it out but that sad little half of a burger on the plate. was just....sad. I'm m not looking for super sizes but needless to say, we all had room for ice cream that was at a shop nearby. My husband likened the burger to Red Robin. Sadly, not the Kenny's we remembered. It took me awhile to comeback to try another burger but it has always been in my head every time I drive thru Preston. I think one of the reason why is cause this area has been so busy after H-E-B opened but here I am this nice Friday afternoon walking my way back in for a great burger. This time I ordered their Mushroom Brie and a side of Truffle Parmesan Fries. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium well, it came out perfect, juicy and just all the right mushroom and Brie flavor finished off with tomato and onion taste. No need to add any sauce as the combination just worked perfectly. The fries were also amazing. Having a burger is always the last thing I think of when it comes to dinner. It's somewhat messy to eat but I know that the messier it is, the better the burger is. Stopped in for the first time as I've heard good raves about Kenny's. As you can see, I played it safe, ordered cheeseburger with jalapeño. A classic Texan burger. Bun, beef, cheese, and the kick of jalapeños is one of the best things put together in one bite. Followed by a not so Texan but a great addition of the Parmesan truffle fries. Visited Kenny's for the first time with my dad tonight. Rachel was our server, 11/10 right from the start to the finish. We ordered the Fried Pickles and she brought us out a little sample of the onion rings as well. Which BOTH ARE TO DIE FOR. the pickles are sliced thick and then fried with a delicious batter. The onion rings come in 2 sizes skinny and ginormous! They are both equally delicious. My dad had the Daily Special burger which included smoked jalepeno cheddar sausage in the burger-absolutely amazing. I got the patty melt- delectable, cooked to my temp (they ask you how you would like it cooked) and overall delicious. The food makes us want to come back but Rachel has made us put Kenny's in the weekly rotation. Thank you Kenny's for the wonderful experience! read more

First you need the perfect server; ask for Marina (I hope I spelled that correctly)! She is friendly, makes good suggestions, is attentive and will take really good care of you. Ambience of local bar...think cheers, you can tell there are lots of repeat customers/locals. Do yourself a favor and order the loaded fries; they are delicious with real bacon. I ordered the hatch green chile burger & my husband ordered the black and blue. Both were great & cooked to order. We both eat ours medium rare. We also ordered onion rings. They come out the size of a donut & are extra crispy. Marina brought out skinny onion rings too to see which we preferred. If you enjoy more onion flavor order the regular; if you prefer more batter, ask for skinny...skinnies are not on the menu. Wow. I've ordered burgers many times from this location but on this occasion it missed by a mile! The meat tasted like the compressed burger meat found at grocery stores. I guess ground beef is getting expensive for the restaurants - if so, don't sell it. My wife ordered a veggie burger that arrived blackened, I mean totally burnt! Stopped in today with the girlfriend to get some food after a long flight. It was a great choice! Our server was Rachel and she went above and beyond making us feel welcome not just to Kenny's but to the Plano area. We had a sampler of their appetizers... fried pickles, bacon wrapped jalapeños, and onion rings. All tasted amazing but they were a bit greasy so if that isn't your taste then pass on them. I had the Royale with Cheese, she had the bacon cheeseburger. Both were cooked exactly as-requested which is a real rarity it seems like, and were phenomenal (as well as massive!). She also ordered the truffle Parmesan fries and this was the first time in my life that I ever actually tasted the truffle in these. Overall an absolutely amazing place and a great value too. I'll be honest the service here is mediocre, and the food took longer than expected, but the fried pickles are the absolute best- crispy, full coverage, slices instead of spears so the batter to pickle ratio is perfection. They also come stacked in alternating rows like Jenga which is certainly the first time I ever said ooo to fried pickles presentation. They are usually just thrown in a pile of sorts. Worth mentioning that I am pregnant and have been trying all the fried pickles I can find (many places I have been, trust me) Every other place is just filler til I can make the drive from FloMo to Kenny's on weekends. In addition to the pickles, the burgers are great, the shakes are delicious (my kids were all happy they could add toppings like crushed Oreo etc), and the onion rings are literally enormous. Came here in a Sunday afternoon. We had the bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers for an appetizer. They were phenomenal. Would defy recommend. Also, we had the Big Kahuna burger. It was a huge burger with 3 patties. Very good and really enjoyed it. Recommend if you're hungry because it's a large burger. The fries were the only thing that was amazing, but they tasted like regular fries. The server was very energetic and helpful with questions on the menu. Ask about the burger challenge. We are big fans of your restaurants which is why we were so disappointed in our lunch a week ago Friday Friday at your Kenny's Burger Joint Plano. A week ago Friday we went to your restaurant around 2:30pm for a late lunch. The restaurant was not busy and we were promptly seated. The waitress took our order and brought our drinks although she couldn't remember if my wife had ordered a Diet Coke or a regular Coke and brought the regular one but promptly exchanged it for the Diet Coke. I ordered a regular hamburger medium and my wife ordered the Patty Melt. We also ordered onion rings. Although the restaurant wasn't busy it took a while for the order to come out. My hamburger patty was dry and tasteless like it had not been seasoned. I had ordered the patty medium but it was so well done that it was dry. There was minimum mayo on the burger. My wife's Patty Melt was a real disappointment. The hamburger patty was plopped between two slices of thin toasted bread with minimum onions and minimum cheese. Most Patty Melts are grilled and the bread, onions, and cheese are bound together. Our onion rings were greasy and overcooked. When the waitress brought our check she asked how everything was and we told her that the onion rings were overcooked she saw them still on the plate and did take them off of our check. We stopped by Kenny's on a busy Saturday night as a party of four. We were seated immediately. Kenny's has a playful ambiance with movie quotes spattered around. We split a sweet potato fries between the four of us and individual burgers. We waited for around 20-25 minutes to get our food which was a little on the longer side. I personally enjoyed the Southwestern Cheddar that I replaced with grilled chicken. It was flavorful, paired well with the grilled veggies and was seasoned nicely. The only caveat being that the burger did get a little dry towards the end, we found the same for my dad who took the patty melt and my mom who also ordered the southwest cheddar. Overall though, Kenny's is a good spot for a casual dinner! read more

12/10/24: Wife and I stopped by for dinner and sat at the bar. Luke was bartending and he was a great host. He was very friendly and engaging. The restaurant wasn't too busy. Luke went over the drink menu with my wife and she selected a "Foo" martini. Cucumber based, and it was really good. She also had a "queso" burger, which isn't actually on the menu. Basically a cheese burger on a bed of tater tots, which was really good! This location is consistently good! From the bartenders, to the food runners and front door staff. Great atmosphere! The server was great but unfortunately had to apologize for the poorly and incorrectly prepared food. There were four of us dining at the Plano facility. My burger was ordered medium rare and specified NO mayo. It arrived with mayo slathered all over it. The server returned it to the kitchen, while I sat and watched my friends eat. Shortly, the server returned with a no mayo burger that was well done and cool, not hot or even warm. This Kenny's kitchen staff has difficulty adding the correct condiments. And after the mistake, sending out the quickest over-cooked, cold, dry burger available was a larger mistake. I'd rather eat at McDonald's and their burgers are absolutely terrible. read more
