I've been coming here a while and the consistency is the real story. Same quality every visit, which is the hardest thing for a restaurant to pull off. Today was the Thunderbird with no aioli, no pico, no lettuce, no tomato. Four modifications on one burger and the kitchen got every one right. If you customize your order you know how rare that is. Add the parmesan truffle Brussels, which come out crispy, flaky and delicious. Staff were friendly and the food came out accurate the first time. Nothing to check, nothing to send back. Sunday lunch had the place packed and echoing, but the ambience is great. They have TVs as well. No photo. I was halfway through the burger before I thought about it. read more

Food - I got the Doddy Melt with parmesan truffle fries and I will say that they give you a whole bowl of fries that I couldn't finish. The burger was small for $13, for $9 they gave me a whole bunch of fries with a parmesan sauce that was okay tasting. I was underwhelmed with the size of the burger for how much I paid, but all-in-all I can't eat a lot anyways so it worked out. The Doddy Melt for me personally was too greasy to where it made me sick afterwards, BUT, I will say it was a juicy burger. It did taste like a regular patty melt to me, but nothing really stood out that made me remember the burger so much that I would go back for it. I think if I were to get it again, I'd save the other half for later. My friend got the classic burger with traditional fries, and she said it was good, also important to mention that the chipotle ketchup they have goes good with the fries so give it a try. Service - when I got there it was packed, line from the cashier to the door, it seemed to move pretty quick though, the cashier was very friendly with a smile, great service. The fries came out before the burgers which was fine, and even the food runner was very nice, overall good customer service. Ambiance - the ambience was very modern restaurant, not a lot of things to look at, it was very busy, but at the same time I could have a conversation without having to shout over other people. The only complaint is that it was very hot in the dining area, but it is summer and the walls were nothing but windows so it just got hotter as you ate. Overall vibe was okay, kind of out in the open and crammed in with everyone else, at least I wasn't bumping elbows with anyone; I personally like space so the condensed seating made me want to get out of there asap. They do have booths but it was busy and they were running out of seats so they just assigned us a seat which I thought was convenient rather than having to pick our own. **Note** this place was expensive for two people, for my friend and I which was two burgers, two fries, and two waters was $50 so just a heads up. I'll think about giving it another chance when the weather cools down, I give it 3 out of 5 stars, I wouldn't go out of my way for it and the burger itself wasn't memorable enough for how much I paid. Stopped in for lunch for the first time for a work team lunch. I'm a big burger lover so always love trying a new spot. Once we picked our table I went up to order at the counter. Apparently they're known for their fries here (or at least my several of my co-workers were excited for fries) and they do offer a couple of different varieties in addition to their 15+ different types of specialty burgers. Everything is a la carte so if you want fries and a drink with your burger those will have to be separate add-ons. I went with the Cadillac Wagyu burger (which granted was the most expensive burger at $15.95) but after my total came out to $17 and some change I couldn't justify the additional cost of fries and a drink on top of this. Don't get me wrong - the burger was very, very good. The truffle aioli, bacon, tomato, cheese, and arugula all complimented each other and the patty very well.... But you could tell it was a mass produced frozen patty. I cant say that I'll be rushing back soon ....again, if I'm going to pay that much for a burger I want the patty to be freshly made and for it to come with a side BUT the burgers are good. This is one of my favorite burger spots!! You order at the counter and they assign you a table, and bring the food to you. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and asked for it spicy, and a side of Parmesan truffle fries. This was my first time eating the Nashville hot sandwich and it was really delicious. I just wish it was spicier. The Parmesan truffle fries are to die for!! It's my favorite thing to get here. It comes with a garlic aioli sauce, which is so flavorful and pairs well with the fries. I'm kind of a burger snob, so take this review with that in mind. Hopdoddy wasn't bad by any means. In fact, the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and did everything right. If I were grading the service alone, it would be an easy five stars. For me, the burger itself just didn't quite live up to the hype. The bun was a little sweeter than I prefer, and the patty wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping. Everything was cooked properly and presented well, but it never had that "wow, I need to come back for this" factor. That's not to say it's a bad burger. It's a good burger. Just not one that cracked my personal top tier. If I were scoring it out of 10, I'd probably land around a 6.7. Good ingredients, great service, nice atmosphere, but the burger itself didn't quite win me over. Hands down one of the best happy hour deals for drinks and sliders. An order comes with four sliders and drinks like cocktails and beer are half price. We opted for a boozy shake even though it wasn't half off. It was delicious. The fries also were great and a super big portion. They were on the salty side. You could see the salt bleeding from the bottom and top. However, the quality was good and they were crispy and firm with a soft potato inside. The sauce on the parm fries are delicious and great for people who like truffles. Funny to note - the team member making the drinks kept handing them to the wrong person. Actually it's very clean. They have employees walking about wiping tables, sweeping absolutely on it regarding cleanliness. In addition the manager was walking about handing cards out to customers that offered a free item on the menu upon return. Thought that was a nice touch. Now for the burger's...They were indeed decadent burger's!!! We had the double bacon jam burgers. I substituted the white/yellow American cheese's for Swiss cheese & my husband had the burger as it stands. We both agreed that although the reviews stated this place was over priced as everything you order is à la carte. And that the burgers were premade tasteless and dry. Our experience was quite the opposite! Our patties were moist & cooked, seasoned perfectly, the grilled onions & bacon jam not only unique but the perfect combination. Hopdoddy Burger offered an all-around amazing experience! I tried all their fries--sweet potato, truffle, nacho, and even the Parmesan Brussels leaves. My favorites were the nacho fries and sweet potato fries--perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The Cadillac Wagyu burger was a definite 10/10. It was big, juicy, and fresh with bold flavors that didn't disappoint. I paired it with their house-made ginger lemonade, which was super refreshing, and topped it off with a creamy Oreo milkshake. I was excited when I received a free milkshake for my birthday reward. Unfortunately, the cookies and cream milkshake looked like it was melted when the team member handed it to me so I inquired about its consistency. He couldn't explain why it was so thin so he brought out manager Shawn. Shawn said that all the Hopdoddy milkshakes are thin due to the custard base they use. My experience with the staff was not very enjoyable I wanted to order a double bacon jam with bison patties which cost 11.50 but an up charge of 3$ per patty for bison so 17.50. Instead I was rung up for a buffalo bill (15.25 and made with bison) and if they made substitutions to make it into a bacon jam that would've been fine. I was instead rung up for the buffallo bill with an up charge for 2 bison patties totaling 21.25. After trying to explain it to the staff the cashier was rude and so was the other staff that tried to help. I ended up just getting the burger the normal way. My family and I visited Hopdoddy off of Blanco and 1604. When we first walked in the you could tell they must have had a rush because the place was a mess. By they got it in order pretty quick. We ordered the Thunderbird in a bowl, the classic, Continental club, and small fries. The Thunderbird is a chicken burger and I was concerned that it would be dry. It wasn't! It was very moist and had excellent flavor. I only wish it didn't come in such a tall bowl. But I would buy it again. My family enjoyed the club and the classic. They finished it all. We decided to get the small fries but it was big enough for all three of us to share. At this restaurant you stand in line to order and they tell you where to sit. But some tables ate tall and we could not sit there. They accommodated us and our needs. They were helpful with recommendations and with making sure our allergy issues were met.
