Y'all alright with me! I love a good burger. I checked our Burger Boy for the first time and I was pleased. Them menu is pretty simple and the burgers are tradional (love it). I got the working man special and added bacon. I decided to try the popular orange slush. My slush was good and not too chunky. It's a slush that I would easily purchase alone on a hot day if I'm in the area. My burger was really good. The quality and quantity was how I like it. I wish I had a little bit more fries. I have been dying to try this place for awhile and I'm so happy I did! Service is absolutely amazing! The staff was so friendly and gave me some good recommendations. Food came out pretty quick and I love their crinkle fries! Once I ate my meal, every table around me had ordered a milkshake. So I had some fomo and thought maybe I should give it a try. I stopped by Burger Boy on the way to a Spurs game to avoid the $30 burgers at the Arena. I enjoyed the experience overall. The big, juicy patty was decent and tasted fresh, flavorful, and not greasy. Service was also impressively fast, which made it a great option for a quick bite in San Antonio on the way to the game. Everything about the restaurant, from the setup to the ordering flow seemed like a good set up, but the meal itself for the burger and fries was simply decent, not mind-blowing. Came here to try their burger for the first time. Wasn't too impressed with the double patty, lettuce, tomato and no onions. Burger had no taste and mainly tasted plain even with the condiments that I added. The patty were small and even thought I ordered double patty because I was hungry, didn't finished it due to patty tasting like they were cooked on water...no taste nor flavor despite adding ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard! The only thing that I think was decent was the fries (portion was small and the medium lemonade). Service was good and explained the ordering process and various burgers option. The guy took the time to explained to me the menu since I informed him that it was my first time visiting Burger Boys establishment. The ambient was good and place looked cleaned inside and tables. The burgers are hot and tasty, not like most fast food joints. Quality meat and toppings. They kind of remind me of Whataburger - not quite the same, but still damn tasty. The crinkle cut fries are always hot and cooked perfectly - a little crispy on the outside, but just a little soft on the inside - just the way I like em! The inside is always clean (but a little too cold), and the employees are helpful and courteous - the total opposite of most fast food joints. The regular Burger Boy single is $5.49 and the regular size fries (which is a perfect portion size) is $2.69. (Looking at some of the online menu photos from 12 months ago, the price on these two items have gone up 10 cents each.) All I wanted was a regular strawberry shake. When I finally got it, there was whipped cream on top (ok, not something I would have wanted but I can live with it I guess). What was not cool was the candy sprinkles covering the top of the whipped cream. Ugh. We were staying at the Drury Inn about 5 minutes away and were looking for something close-by. The cool, unique exterior of this restaurant drew us in and WOW! It did not disappoint! Not only was the exterior fun, the inside was just as funky and modern. Loved the bright orange stacked tile, cool lighting and plywood ceiling. Plenty of seating despite the small space. The guy at the counter was not only super friendly, he was so helpful too. When I mentioned it was our first time, he explained the different burgers and noted that one was voted best burger in San Antonio for 2 years in a row now. I ordered 3 kids meals (part-timers). $4.99. Cheese was an extra .59. Came with crinkle fries and a small drink. Order came out fast and was HOT HOT HOT. Kids LOVED the food. This newly opened outlet of Burger Boy is delightful on multiple levels. Fast service, clean dining area, and hot food. I find Burger Boy's singles to be a little skimpy so get the 'Working Man's' Combo with a double patty and you're good. Piping hot fries, and even a light, airy environment a million miles away from a grimy old McD's or Burger King. Yeah, give me this any day of the week! This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Stopped at this Burger Boy on a Friday after shopping at CostCo, very convenient location for them. I grew up in SA and knew the Bate's family that started Whopper Burger. This is my fourth trip to this location and the service and ambiance have been fine. However the burgers have not been that good. I've had the double and the single and the meat doesn't have much taste, always under seasoned. The buns are always smashed looking and the burger is poorly constructed, very thrown together. The fries have been the best thing, but I don't go there just to eat fries. There is definitely some attention to detail that needs to happen. I'll try them again in a couple of months. read more

This is my first time at a burger boy and I have to say it was wonderful! I got 2 double cheeseburgers and then a XL cheese fry. The burgers were bigger than expected and tasted delicious! I usually do not like crinkle cut fries but these were different and had me hooked, especially with cheese on them. I really wanted to get a shake but it will be another reason to come back. Service was amazing...shout out to Simon at the drive thru window. He was super friendly and nice which made my experience over the top. This place is nice and super clean to top it all off. I recall some decades ago enjoying the Burger Boys of that time, and was very pleased to discover that the original restauranteur's dream has not died, as had been my belief. Absolutely the best hamburgers /cheeseburgers we have ever eaten in San Antonio, and we've tried a whole bunch of them! Seriously. I don't know if it's the fresh patty that seems to be made by hand. I'm not sure if it is, but wow. I generally think, it's just a burger, and it's hard to go wrong. That might seem true, but now, I will be able to disagree. These are the best! We chose to bring them home, and they were still warm when we ate them. You can always eat there, and it's a nice place to do that too. What I didn't know is they've been in SA since 1955!!!! We popped in on a Friday afternoon. Burger Boy opened earlier that week. The interior casual, booths & tables. Upon walking in, the cashier greets you & offers to take your order. Cashiers patient ' provided a high level overview of burger detail. We ate in, had double burgers, fries & chocolate shake. Honestly was one of the best burgers we had in awhile. Burger Boy has always been the go to burger place for me since I was a child. Now that they have expanded I am excited to try all locations. This is by my house and it is very convenient. I really recommend coming to this new building on a nice day. If you sit outside right before sun down it has a great view. Almost romantic. There always in a rush to get things done so it doesn't feel as welcoming it feels kinda like another fast food place.
