It's kinda hard to actually rate and review anything in Yountville, California because it represents the absolute crème de la creme of wine and dining in all of the USA. But I'm still on the mailing list for Hope and Grace from a trip 10 years ago and wanted to rave about how amazing, refined, yet completely down to earth this winery and their products are. We went to a lot of wineries on that trip but Hope and Grace stands out in my memory. (They had this adorable dog that hung out in their tasting room.) The whole vibe was so chill and laid back while being top quality. So I just wanted to show my appreciation. Valentine's Day is coming up and I would absolutely recommend ordering a couple bottles for a special treat to yourself and sig other. We've ordered many over the years and it's always a treat. Or if you can just up and fly to the Napa Valley for Valentines and actually go to Yountville, can you take me with you? LOL! read more

Our first wine tasting of our trip, and a great way to start! Hope & Grace is right in town and easily accessible. We were the first table of the day. Our service was excellent, our host was super knowledgeable and friendly (a Napa local) who even offered us blankets when he noticed we were cold. The tasting flight was affordable and the wines were delicious! I especially enjoyed the Pinot Noir. Our host let us try a Stags Leap Cab which was off the menu but was amazing. The service was fantastic. I was finding ways to fill my time while I waited for the rest of my girlfriends to arrive for the weekend. I was able to sit at the bar and chat with a wonderful gentleman (who in retrospect I should have grabbed his name to give him kudos!) while I tasted their wine. I love Yountville and we always make a stop by Bouchon when in town, but discovered Hope & Grace through a friend. We were very much welcomed in when and sat for a tasting of their fantastic wine. Space is somewhat limited so I would recommend reservations if you're interested in a full tasting. In addition to wine, they do have some local art and other items for purchase along with shirts, glasses, mugs etc. All the folks that work here are fabulous and Tiffany (one of the owner/partners) is knowledgeable, kind and very helpful. Came in on a Saturday afternoon with a party of 4. Our server was AMAZING and so knowledgeable. I feel terrible because I can't remember his name (Brandon I think??!) -- he used to work at Del Dotto and has wonderful recs all over the Napa Valley, really happy he helped us during our tasting. My group enjoyed the wines and appreciated the side by side Malbec tasting. My favorites were the Chardonnay, Merlot, and Pinot Noir. I wandered into the hope & grace tasting room during a day trip to Yountville. I was drawn in by the lovely decor and warm atmosphere. My husband and I both participated in their tasting. We didn't have reservations in advance but they were able to make room for us (and a few other walk-ins). The wine tasting featured a combination of whites and reds. It was priced at $35, which is very reasonable compared to other tastings for the quality of wines it included. We were even given extra wines to try that weren't on the menu (so did other guests sitting near us). It was super generous and made for an even more special tasting experience. The wines were very good, especially their more premium options. Although we stuck to the tasting menu, they were very accommodating to other guests who wanted to customize their experience. This was such a relaxing and enjoyable tasting. Would highly recommend -- bring your partner or friends! read more

Regina knew her stuff, shared the history of everything Hope & Grace (nobody said there would be a quiz after so don't ask me what I've learned). Anyway the point is, we enjoyed the flights, and the experience that she presented on behalf of Hope & Grace. Regina was also gracious enough to share tips on other tasting places to visit (even without reservations) ok, ok she told us we could name drop to get in. My girlfriend and I recently got engaged in Yountville. While strolling through the downtown before our dinner reservation, we came upon Hope & Grace as it was about to close for the evening. Rick was a very gracious and charming host, and he and his colleagues kindly stayed open a bit late to accommodate us. It was a lovely tasting--we enjoyed the wines and the story behind the winery, and bought a few bottles to take home. Altogether, it was a lovely addition to a memorable evening. So. Incredibly. Stuffy. We came in here after seeing the great reviews hoping for a nice, simple, tasting but were terribly disappointed. After a long drive up to Napa this was the first place we stopped on our way to dinner and it left a pretty bad taste in our mouths (not physically, thankfully). There were 3 of us ladies who dropped in for a tasting on a Saturday late afternoon. We actually stopped in twice - the first time there was nobody around to help us so we left (this should've been a sign), and the second time a lady was super friendly and gave us sample pours while we waited to be helped. The place is small but we managed to get a spot up at the bar area almost immediately. The woman that actually did our tasting was so unfriendly and gave us the smallest pours I've ever seen. I'm not sure what the prejudice was against us, if any, but it was clear she didn't like us being there. We were extremely friendly, quiet, and non-bothersome so I'm not sure where we went wrong. This really gave me a bad feeling about Napa... I'm not a sommelier or anything but I do enjoy wine and I would've expected it to be a LITTLE more welcoming considering the steep tasting prices you pay. Well, I hear the thing to try is their Pinot Noir. Tasted it, savored it, bought one, enough said! I'm more of a Syrah kind of drinker, but after tasting a sample of this pinot, it was so clean and it just had such a soothing aroma! Loved it! As for the tasting room itself, it was smaller than normal, but they do have a large table room in the back. The style was of a classic living room type, very cool. Overall it was clean and pleasant in appearance. The beautiful Isla Fisher looking redhead (if forgot her name, sorry) that served us was very knowledgeable and cool! As were some of the other servers; They were just as enthusiastic and friendly! Even though it was close to closing time, the staff was still upbeat. This is just a short review about the place for now, as I plan to return! This place is simply convenient across the street of the V Marketplace parking lot . Post Bouchon food coma and was lucky enough to stumble upon Hope & Grace Wines. At first glance from the outside I thought it was honestly a small mom and pop art store, but obviously the sign gave it away. When walking in you immediately realize this is a very small tasting room, so if it is packed, it may be awhile before you can sneak in. There is a small room in back, but not 100 percent sure if it is used for private tastings or not. As you would expect, the merchandise is about the norm in regards of what you can buy, so nothing to break off from the bar and or spend a ton of time gazing at. Thankfully when we arrived, there was just enough room at the bar to fit us in, so we made a direct shot for it. The tasting is your standard cost and flight of wines (Chard, Cab, Pinot, Rose), but they offer a few less known or available wines such as Lagrein, Semillon, and a single Petit Verdot. All were pretty good except for the Malbec and Chard, which really did nothing for my palate. If I had to pick some winners from the bunch, I really enjoyed the Pinot from Santa Lucia Highlands and the St. Helena Cab. With all of that said, it was a very pleasurable visit, and the staff was superb! I would honestly revisit sometime soon and bring some friends along as the location is great for lunch and a tasting. read more

I wanted to love this place so much. I come to Napa often and have tasted all throughout Yountville and was really looking forward to Hope & Grace. Unfortunately my expectations were far too high. My sister and I had sat down with Rick and we were ignored the entire time and had to ask for some refills for our next tasting. The cost was really low but so was the experience which in return, made us truly dislike the wine. Don't expect any extra pours or attention but it seems like Regina would have been a better time based off the reviews. I've been back to Yountville since and continue to wonder how this place is still standing when there are exceptional tastings surrounding. I won't return and will not recommend. read more
