    Taco Bowl
    Nancy W.

I stopped in for breakfast on Cinco de Mayo and got the Taco bowl. The tortilla bowl was fried crispy and filled with a mixture of egg, chorizo, black beans, green onions, and tomatoes. I wish there had had been a little more egg in the dish. It felt a little unbalanced with too much chorizo. It was tasty, but the ratio of the toppings was such that all I really tasted was the chorizo and everything that was mixed in was overpowered by the spicy meat. Despite that, I like this spot for breakfast, and our server was attentive and quick.

I've gone to a couple other locations and it's never a first choice place for me. But I can see how it appeals to others. Had a sister's brunch today and the celebrant sister chose Hope Breakfast Bar. Another sister and I were like darn, it was the choice lowest on the list for both of us. But on our drive there, we decided we'd both try something that we typically wouldn't try to see if it changed our views. I tried the breakfast sandwich. It was decent, not anything I'd ever crave. The bacon overpowered everything else, even the everything bagel! She did the egg farm grazer which was vegetables and quinoa topped with an egg. She said it was fine as well. Both of our meals were on par with previous experiences. Our two other sisters chose some sort of waffle. One was the hope waffle which was good, standard waffle with fruit. The other was chicken and waffles, the taste is decent but the portion was surprisingly large! 4 pieces of chicken with the waffle! As we finished with our meals, I was happy that we weren't disappointed with our food, so that was a win! But they watch your time so carefully. The moment we were sitting for 90 mins on the dot, they asked us to go. So if you're looking for a place to catch up with someone, don't let it be here!

I want to like this place. I guess I like it, I don't love it. This location is NOISY. Nothing dampens the sound. Difficult for the servers to hear you or have a conversation without feeling like you're screaming. If you get anything with cheese, beware they put about a pound of cheese on your food. I scraped some off of the meal I had and it was still plenty cheesy. I got the blackened cauliflower gratin. It was ok. Super cheese aside, it barely had any seasoning or flavor. I didn't expect it to be burnt, but when you call something blackened, it should be seasoned. At least the hashbrowns are delicious. Hubs had the hot honey chicken sandwich, which I was also eyeing. Looked good, but the biscuit was huge. I probably would have dumped half. Coffee bar is also good here.

Really wanted to love this place. Was leery going here after all the bad press, related to fraud and them shutting down their nonprofit. It's a local business though and wanted to give them a try to support local. After visiting I can say my opinion is neutral but given the recent press I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Chicken and waffles were a nice portion size and a hit with my teenager. 2 maple syrup Options (jalapeño and plain). No sides included but not really needed due to the ample portion size. Hashbrowns - ordered a side and was disappointed. Soft almost mushy in the middle the outside not crispy enough. Avocado toast - I didn't want the fried avocado so asked for fresh sliced instead and they easily accommodated my request. Served w two poached eggs cooked perfectly. Order didn't come out at once, waffles were served and several minutes later the avocado toast which requires minimal cooking came out. Served w a side of fruit, which seemed a bit old as the blueberries were mushy. Upon completing our meal I tried to find our server to pay the bill she dropped off. She was busy at the espresso machine for several minutes so I went to the hostess to see if we could pay. She went and told our server who came by a few minutes later to check us out. That process could have been better, we waited an awful long time to leave. Overall the food was tasty but a bit overpriced and service was slow and inattentive. 2.5 stars

Met my son here for brunch and coffee and was so happy we picked this place! We started with the cottage bruschetta toast and it was fresh, tasty and a hug portion. For our main we had biscuits and grave and the smoked salmon pimiento cheesy eggs special. The food here comes in huge portions and it is always hot and fresh. We each had coffee that was so great, I bought a bag of beans to grind at home. So good! Our server was so professional and friendly. The interior is decorated so nicely and so inviting. Def recommend!!

Back again . This time we made a reservation. You caNot get in ( unless you are patient enough to wait for a table) without one. Great staff, great food and atmosphere. Never disappointed

A group of six gals and I went to hope breakfast bar In Eagan. It was great. Service was great, our waitress was patient and knowledgeable! We all got a round of cocktails including an espresso martini which was fab. My friend liked their spicy Bloody Mary. For food the tostada and blacked cauliflower were a hit. Breakfast sandwiches were enjoyed, next time I'll ask for my bacon to be a bit crispier on my sandwich. The cheesy French toast was the only item that didn't meet expectations, it was too cheesy! To be fair I think our patient waitress noticed this and took it off my friends bill which was nice! Overall I'd be back, we weren't rushed like some other hope bar locations. We made reservations about one week ahead a time.

We made a reservation for two a few days ago for a 10:30am Saturday brunch spot and I am glad we did! This is a very popular place on the weekends, I highly recommend making a reservation early. We order drip coffee that came in an adorable Stanley carafe. I ordered the cottage bruschetta toast with scrambled egg and bacon and WOW! That was a lot of food! The tomato cucumber bruschetta was the best part. I had never had it on cottage cheese but it was a great way to start the weekend. My fiancé had the avocado toast with the poached egg and again, SO much food. We could not be a part of the clean plate club, but in the best way. The restaurant was crowded but there were plenty of staff to bounce around and clear plates. The location is in a semi-strip mall across from Eagan high school. The parking lot gets FULL so allow for some time to find a spot. Highly recommend this location, a great brunch spot in the south suburbs!

Fried Chicken & Waffles and Pork Carnitas Bowl

I came to hope breakfast bar with my brother, It reminded me so much of my favorite brunch spots in the east coast. The service was on top of things and very friendly. She helped us decide what would be best suited for our palates. I landed on the carnitas bowl, my brother went for the chicken and waffles. He loved the waffles, the chicken was cooked very well, seasoned well and with the addition of some hot sauce hit the spot. I enjoyed my bowl as well it tasted like sitting next to the fire place on a snowy day. Everyone at Hope seemed to be enjoying time with their loved ones, it was a comfortable eating experience. Glad we made a reservation though, it was busy when we arrived!

I'd been to the Hope's Breakfast Bar in St Paul and was excited to have one closer to home for me now with this one in Eagan. Mainly I was excited to be able to find parking more easily if I'm being honest ;) The location is great, there is a parking lot which made me excited after my experience going to the St Paul one, and it was a nice space inside. Volume inside is a bit on the noisy side but nothing we couldn't work around in having a conversation. The service was fantastic with a server who knew the menu well, made recommendations on items including slight modifications that worked well, and he was genuinely excited about his work and providing great service. The food was fantastic! Flavorful and perfectly prepared, it came out hot from the kitchen, the coffee comes in a retro Stanley thermos which was a cool touch! For breakfast we both had the Sunrise Chili Crunch Bowl which was fantastic! It came with the option of carnitas but we both decided to get it without. It was very tasty with great ingredients and we both got it with a poached egg instead of scrambled (highly recommend so you get that runny yolk in there!). I also ordered a short stack of buttermilk pancakes and they were fantastic! Soft and fluffy and great flavor as well! The experience was wonderful from the accessibility of the restaurant at this location, the service and the many choices on Hope's menu, and the quality of the food! Will be back many times I'm sure ;)

    Pork Belly & Biscuit

I had a delicious and inviting experience at this location as soon as you walked in the door (: Our order consisted of trying the cinnamon waffles, pancakes, and pork belly/biscuit/cheesy grit plate. Drinks shared were lemonade and a seasonal latte drink. Everything tasted was equally tasty, but the pork belly and cheesy grits were to die for. Everything was served with a smile and details were noted. I was quite impressed with our experience! Thanks!

    Carmel latte

This is a place my husband and I have been to a few times. We like the unique breakfast options (he loves pancakes and they have a fun variety). The food has always been good and fresh. The latte is a favorite of mine! Ambiance is cute, they have decor and indoor outdoor seating. Tables are spread out so you have space and don't feel like you're on top of everyone else. One item we have consistently been let down with is the service. Each time we have went the servers are very busy, rarely check in and are a bit short with us. The food helps make up for it but this has happened each time we have gone (they have a Saint Paul location and their service has always been on point). I am only speaking to the Eagan location. The service is why I can't give 5 stars for this location.

    Kahlua Mocha Latte
    Christine M.

Every time a Grand Slam! Our first visit to the Eagan Hope! What I love most about this place is everything on their menu sounds like I'd want to try it! today we had the Blackened Cauliflower and fried eggs and the Carrot Cake pancakes. Also, who knew Kahlua amd Mocha paired so well! The open seating does lend itself to a cacophony of sound so I wouldn't say it was intimate, but it's a great place with great energy and perfect for a Saturday morning brekkie with friends. The staff were outstanding and the food came in around 10-15 minutes of ordering!! Make sure to get a reservation. People that just showed up were told it was an hour wait! We'll definitely be back. So many things we want to try!!

First off, going through the hidden Coke machine entrance is actually really fun and makes the whole place feel like a little adventure. The decor and speakeasy atmosphere are definitely the standout. Very cool space. VERY loud though. Like "lean across the table and say WHAT?" loud at times. The waitress was super nice and recommended a mocktail for me that called Ass in the Sand. It ended up being really good. It tasted like an elevated lemonade and was probably one of my favorite parts of the meal. Started with the rolls and whipped honey butter which were delicious. Very soft, warm, and honestly dangerous because I could've just kept eating bread all night. For the main meal, I did the Wagyu Burger with Parmesan fries. The burger itself was okay but surprisingly didn't have a ton of flavor outside of the grilled/charred taste. The Parmesan fries were actually the standout for me -- hand cut fries and parmesan fries are just hard to mess up. My partner tried the Mushroom Soup en Croute and wasn't a fan because the mushrooms were blended and he said it lacked flavor. He also had a Steak Taco special using their medallion steak and said even with lime it still needed more flavor. Finished with Crème Brûlée which is always a classic favorite for me and this one was good. Overall: fun experience, cool hidden entrance, great decor, good mocktail and bread, but the actual food menu is pretty limited and the flavors didn't totally wow me for the price. Glad I went and finally crossed it off my list, but probably a one-and-done visit for me.

My first thought was holy bottles! There's tons and tons of bottles up and down the walls. The space is also smaller than expected, but we went in at 3PM as a party of 4 on a Sunday and had no problem getting seated. I ordered the Lost Footage and it was delicious (and strong!!). It came in a flask inside of a VHS case which was fun. I then got to pour it into my glass. Other members of my group got The Red Wedding, Pity Party, and To Your Health. My spouse and I shared the strip steak and the wedge salad, which we enjoyed. I would like to see some more food options in the future, especially since I'm already pretty limited due to a gluten allergy. However, I am excited to come back.

The inside is beautiful and made for a really nice dining experience. We started with the Eichten's cheese curds, and they were excellent. They were soft on the inside, some had a great cheese pull, and the spicy dipping sauce paired really well with them. I ordered the Flat Iron Frites. The steak was seasoned well, cooked nicely, and didn't have much fat, which I appreciated. The fries were crispy and came with house-made ketchup. I usually don't even like ketchup, but this one was actually really good. My partner ordered the deviled eggs as his appetizer, and he enjoyed them so much he finished them in no time. For dessert, we had the Strawberry Shortcake Crème Brûlée, and it was fantastic. I've never had crème brûlée like that before. It was a unique twist on a classic dessert and ended the meal perfectly. The only small downside was that the complimentary water tasted clean and fresh. But it was warm instead of cold. I wouldn't have minded a little more gravy, but still this dish was still pretty good. For my beverage I had the You're my boy blue beverage which is a bourbon, agave, blueberry and lemonade drink.
