Absolutely loved my experience at Hopia Like It! The yellow bean hopia was amazing, perfectly soft, subtly sweet, and packed with flavor. Of course it's the same food as the Granada hills location (though I doubt they have as much as GH ) - so the food is very good. We got a lunch plate this time. It was good, but preferred the breakfast dishes from last time. The Halo Halo was great, and the hopia (pastry) were so good. If you live nearby or want food TOGO - this location is suitable. My first time there to try Filipino food. Really good food! I've never had "crispy sisig" and I got the lunch special which was a very generous portion. I also got the 9 piece lumpia because you ALWAYS have to get lumpia! As an impulse buy, I got these fabulous little tarts (cashew maybe). I can't remember because I ate all of them almost right away. I've known this stores way back when they had it named Kalesa Grill and they evolved with a more focused dessert like their uniquely and classy Filipino "Hopia". Yes, it is a borrowed term from the old Chinese bread makers way back in the Philippines but has now evolved to a better Filipino creation. Their hopia is made with mung beans, peanut butter, cheese, and a variety of different organic ingredients that will make you long for more, no matter your age or taste buds. This is their star dessert so if you buy more you save more. They also sell other desserts like their own style of pork chicharons or pork rinds, pandesal, pulvuron, Puto (rice dessert), along with noodles like Pancit Malabon etc.. I often come to this nook, at least once a month or as often as possible. One suggestion or tip is that it's better to snort their hopia when it's new, crispier and the taste is milkier and better. Yes, they also have Halo Halo and other drinks like fresh coconut etc. Another tip is to call in your order as soon as possible and pick it up, when ready. They also have Uber Food Pick Up and other delivery services. I've been going to their store for more than 20 years perhaps and they continues to deliver the best and cleanest food there is. The couple who owns this place and their families are great local people and are extremely friendly, nice and polite to all their customers. I have a slight edge over the hopia at the other location in terms of taste as well; the hopia baboy over there in particular was more flavorful (still good here though). I also ended up getting pancit malabon w/ lechon here; tender lechon pieces but overall kinda bland (haven't tried the one at the other location so can't compare). As It can only accommodate a few. They have one table for dine in. But even so, I'd rather have my meals to go. It makes me uneasy when people are watching me eat. They sell bakery products. And the highlights are the Hopia. They are very addictive. With 7-8 or more favors, it is hard to choose. I stopped by today to pick up my 3 free Hopias. I chose Mung Bean, Pork, and Ube. Omg how I missed this. I finished them in one sitting. Lol. I'm coming back for more. Hopias are good to bring for get togethers or just something available at home for snacks. We got here and I ended up ordering some other food items along with the Peach Mango Hopia and Buko Pandan Hopia. I'm not crazy about Hopia but these were tasty and the flavors were pretty good. I've tried: Pancit Malabon, Filipino Pinoy Spaghetti, Fried chicken, Crispy Pata, Lumpia, and and ube hopia. The only thing I didn't really enjoy from the above was the fried chicken, it was over cooked and under seasoned but everything else was delicious. My tip is to call ahead to see if they're able to make the crispy pata. We originally made our order online and they had to call and tell us they wouldn't be able to do the pata.
