    Nutella hopia and ube hopia
    Mariel C.

Today my parents and I went to hopia like it in Winneka. We were buying two dozen of hopia, we got each flavor of ube, nutella, red bean, and baboy pork hopia. And we also buy two of chicken empanada. We love their filipino pastry called hopia and empanada they were so delicious. The service was great and friendly staff with a smile, the ambiance was amazing and great. We always already looking forward to our return visits!!

HUGE disclaimer. This place is very small. One small table with 3 chairs. So basically Togo location only. Of course it's the same food as the Granada hills location (though I doubt they have as much as GH ) - so the food is very good. We got a lunch plate this time. It was good, but preferred the breakfast dishes from last time. The Halo Halo was great, and the hopia (pastry) were so good. If you live nearby or want food TOGO - this location is suitable. Otherwise, Granada hills is the best option. Granted they aren't setup for huge groups, but will be fine otherwise We really enjoy local establishments.

Wow! Pleasantly surprised!! HOPIA LIKE IT in Winnetka is a small Filipino cafe that specializes in the small, flakey, Filipino pastry called Hopia! Back in the day, there were only two flavors of hopia: Baboy (pork) and Monggo (red or yellow mung bean). Today, there's a plethora and I'm here for it!! We went in wanting to order Halo-halo, but as soon as we saw the display case full of colorful hopia, we just had to order some! We really enjoyed the Yellow Bean, Baboy, and Peach/Mango. I wish I had ordered more, because we ate them too darn fast. Now I know! After looking at the menu, we also ordered Pancit Palabok and Lechon Kawali Plate to-go. The Pancit was great after squeezing some lemon (provided) and a drizzle of soy sauce once I got home. The Lechon Kawali was gone before I asked for a bite. My +1 loved it! We thought that was enough until we noticed the pandesal was sooooo soft! Grabbed a bag and we are still enjoying it. It is truly heavenly! I used to work at a Filipino Bakery in San Diego that specialized in Pandesal and this might just be my new favorite, at least in LA!! :-) I changed my mind on the Halo-Halo, but ordered a Melon (cantaloupe) drink that was excellent! My +1 loved the Maíz con hielo (sweet corn shaved ice). Already looking to our return visits!!

I was driving and saw the sign "Hopia Like it ". I had seen the sign before in Granada Hills but I didn't know there was one in Winnetka. So I stopped and decided to give it a try. It is small, like a hole in a wall, but the food was good. I ordered Pancit Malabon & Bibingka. The Bibingka was tasteful and warm. The place was busy, and people were ordering pastries, they all look delicious. I'm glad I stopped by.

Crispy Sisig with rice. (It's a crispy pork dish).

My first time there to try Filipino food. Really good food! I've never had "crispy sisig" and I got the lunch special which was a very generous portion. I also got the 9 piece lumpia because you ALWAYS have to get lumpia! As an impulse buy, I got these fabulous little tarts (cashew maybe). I can't remember because I ate all of them almost right away. Very friendly and helpful service at the counter. One small table for eating there. They also have an abundant catering menu. I will definitely go back to try their pork belly lunch special and also their hopia (small cookie type dessert in so many flavors). They also had another type of breakfast pastry that looked amazing.

Sorry, but the palabok and cebuchon is not the same as the Hopia Like it in Granada Hills. This is Kalesa Grill not Hopia Like it. Very disappointed no flavor at all.

    Baboy & Buko Pandan Hopia
    Claribel V.

They have the best hopia and have so many different flavors. My favorite are the baboy and buko pandan. The hopia is flaky and the filling is so delicious. They also have really good Spanish bread. The bread is soft and the buttery filling tasted like it has some pieces of coconut. This place is far from home. I only come here when I'm in the Woodland Hills or Van Nuys area, which is seldom. I usually pick up a dozen hopia and a bag of Spanish bread whenever I come here. Wish they would open a store in the Long Beach/Cerritos area.

Great if you love hopia and fried pork! This place does both. Rice plate with sisig was delicious-- yum porky fat cut by raw onions and fresh chilies. Nice small business with a variety of Filipino foods. Next to Jesse's Grind coffee in Food4Less strip mall.

    Sharon T.

Don't pass on the hopia here! I tried a variety of hopias and nothing compares to the flavors and uniqueness that Hopia Like it has. Sadly the grill and food we can order to go here but there is no sit in place for families to enjoy. Wish they had more tables. But I indulged in my favorite Guava Cheese Hopia. The flaky pastry filled with sweet guava and creamy cheese never fails to satisfy my cravings for a perfect blend of flavors. A true gem in the world of Filipino pastries, the Guava Cheese Hopia and other flavors is a is a must-try for anyone looking to treat their taste buds to something special.

I haven't been here for so long that they made some changes. The Kalesa Grill dining room is not there anymore. It made this place tiny. Customers have to wait outside too. As It can only accommodate a few. They have one table for dine in. But even so, I'd rather have my meals to go. It makes me uneasy when people are watching me eat. They sell bakery products. And the highlights are the Hopia. They are very addictive. With 7-8 or more favors, it is hard to choose. I stopped by today to pick up my 3 free Hopias. I chose Mung Bean, Pork, and Ube. Omg how I missed this. I finished them in one sitting. Lol. I'm coming back for more. Hopias are good to bring for get togethers or just something available at home for snacks. And when you join Five Star rewards, they send you perks on your birthday month. Wooot!!! Ample parking. No bathroom facilities available.

The food is one of the reasons I keep coming back, and for years I have had mostly positive experiences here. Recently, however, I have started visiting more often in the afternoons and evenings, and the difference in customer service compared to the morning shift is very noticeable. The morning staff are consistently friendly, welcoming, attentive, and create a pleasant atmosphere that makes customers feel valued. They are engaging, kind, and genuinely seem happy to help. Unfortunately, my experiences with the afternoon and evening staff have been the complete opposite. Many employees appear bored, irritated, or frustrated to be there. Simple requests are often met with attitudes that make customers feel like they are asking for a favor rather than receiving a service they are paying for. As a paying customer, I should not feel uncomfortable asking for something related to my order. Another concern is the way some employees interact with customers. On several occasions, I have noticed staff staring at customers and then laughing among themselves. I have no way of knowing what they are talking about, but it creates an uncomfortable environment and can easily make customers feel judged, unwelcome, or insignificant. I am leaving this review because I know how great this business can be. The morning team demonstrates the level of customer service that keeps people coming back. I hope management takes a closer look at the customer experience during the afternoon and evening shifts because the difference is significant and is affecting what has otherwise been a positive experience as a long-time customer.

I had the pleasure of meeting Sa'id who is part of the family owned business and such a nice young gentleman! He welcomed me in and shared with me what makes their bakery a cut above the rest. For starters they are not a French bakery. It is an eastern European style bakery which most likely means that the baked goods are heartier, dense and more substantial in texture I would say. Their croissant was more dense than a typical french croissant which is light, airy and flakey. Sa'id offered for me to try a small sliver of their napoleon soft cake and it was amazing! I bought a regular cinnamon bun and the pistachio tiramisu. I really appreciated that the cinnamon bun wasn't overly sweet. I heated it in the microwave for about 8 seconds and my husband and I enjoyed it very much. The pistachio tiramisu was also very very good! A beautiful blend of coffee flavor with hints of pistachio flavor. In fact, it was OUTSTANDING! Best tiramisu my husband and I have ever tasted! Everything is carefully handmade with lots of care and love. There were some beautiful cakes in the display. They take special orders for any occasion.
