He observed there was a lot of offset tension on the gas line connection to the furnace due its improper installation when the furnace was originally installed. He used a flexible gas line connector to alleviate the issue (see photo) and was very meticulous to ensure the new pipe had no leaks. Furthermore, he applied additional stabilizers to ensure the pipe was properly secured. I certainly appreciate his attention to detail and his outstanding professionalism to make my furnace safer and more efficient. Griffin Halls demonstrated superior skills and willingness to go the extra distance to help his customers brings great credit upon himself and the Good Guys HVAC company. After 2 more days of being without heat, Appel sent out another service technician who said that I needed new exhaust pipes from my boiler. The next day, 2 more technicians came to replace the exhaust pipes, but this didn't fix the problem. After a few more days, Appel sent out their "Boiler specialist," and he told me that the technicians that replaced the exhaust pipes installed them incorrectly, they were not at the correct angels. Long story short, I needed a new boiler and got a better price from another company. When I received a bill from Appel for the exhaust pipe replacement, I told them that since I was told that it was installed incorrectly, I didn't think that I should have to pay for it. Appel denied my request. I would not recommend Appel for anything.

Blocked dryer vents can cause house fires, and now I'm at lower risk because I've had the vent cleaned. I called our regular HVAC company and they don't do vent cleaning. I called another HVAC company that we've used and their price seemed high. I discovered Family on Google and their had exceptionally high ratings so I called. Not only were they super friendly and kind, they were able to get me in the very next day and at a very reasonable price. Clay, the service tech, was on time and super personable. After approximately 5 minutes my call was returned and a service technician projected an ETA of about 90 minutes. The service technician "Christopher" arrived in the time frame projected. He was polite, professional, and explained the problem along with how it was being repaired.
