My wife and I had lunch on Wednesday, 07/01/15, ~1:15 PM. It was obvious the lunch crowd were finishing their meals and began vacating the restaurant. We (and two other separate couples behind us) had to wait about five to ten minutes to get anyone's attention for seating. I asked if we could eat in the bar area .... the hostess said no problem "just go over there and pick a table". We found five vacated tables with used utensils, plates and glasses on them. Not a "busser" in sight cleaning any of the tables. In the bar area, it looked like the wait staff "tag teamed" serving the patrons. I counted four servers rotating in our area. Unfortunately, they didn't have a good communication system of who was supposed to clean the tables. Once we were seated at our cleared table, wait service and kitchen service was acceptable. The menu featured three varieties of soups, various Sandwiches & Wraps, three interesting Macaroni & Cheese combinations, seven different Salads, seven different entrees, and a large selection (11) of Burgers. My wife had the Patty Melt and stated it was one of the best she has ever had. I had the Black and Bleu Burger and was a little greasy but tasty. The craft beers and homemade Potato Chips were a perfect complement with the sandwiches. A few hours later however, I had a glycemic reaction (which was my own fault) .... Eating excessive starch (hamburger bun & potato chips - instead of having a salad with the burger) And after getting home, I felt "bloated" and "extremely full" for the next six to seven hours. I get that way when I eat food that is too greasy and high in calories. We will go back and I will avoid burgers but will try the other numerous options. read more

I can name plenty of things I love at hops and drops but One thing I don't recommend is their Cajun shrimp tacos... tastes like Taco Bell with 4 shrimps and hella tortilla chips. It's a restaurant favorite but not mine, Not for $17. read more

Been here multiple times in the last few months, great food and excellent service every time! Burgers, sandwiches and several appetizers have all been tried, and thoroughly enjoyed. Decent beer selection, they're (mostly) all Hop Jack's own, but my beer aficionado friends liked what they've tried or was recommended. I do agree that it can get a little noisy, but the space is a bit cavernous, so almost to be expected. Never found myself shouting, though. Will absolutely be back (to try what we haven't yet..)! read more

My wife and I go here pretty frequently. We are big fans of their Mule drinks in the ice glasses, especially when it's hot. Great happy hour deals and a good happy hour menu. Everything we have had has been really good. Their zucchini appetizer is a real standout. Nice selection of beers and a varied menu. We have tried things from their salads to their sandwiches and everything has been very good. Typically we have very friendly service. read more

We had been to Hop Jacks a few times and found the food was very good, although very loud, so we were excited to use a $100 gift card we received from our realtor. When we went to pay, we found that money had not been loaded on to our card. Our realtor went in to correct the error, she was told to have us bring in the receipt next time. We tried again, bringing the receipt this time, and still the card was not honored, better yet, the manager told us that he had given the realtor 2 more cards (he had not) and that the transaction had already cost $400 (hunh?) and that he didn't know what kind of "deal" we were running with our realtor, basically accusing us of running a scam. The manager said that as far as he was concerned, he had made it right and that we still could not use the card was no concern of his. Probably ranks up there with the worst customer service I have ever had! Well, we did get a new gift card, although I don't know if we will use it. At this time, I have no interest in returning. My husband talked to the main manager and has been told things were dealt with whatever that means. I would still recommend not getting a gift card from there for someone you like. At no point was there any attempt to reconcile the $100 we had to pay out of pocket for our first visit when the card didn't work. Bottom line? We received a $100 gift card and then had to pay an unplanned $100 out of our own pockets for the $160 meal we had there. They did have a really good gluten free menu, however. So we have been coming here for several years always had great service. Last night my wife came here and she said the service was horrible. She had to ask the waitress for ketchup several times before it was delivered to the table. Tonight we drop by after work, our order was taken pretty quick but after the service was terrible. I was not asked for a refill for my drink till after the table was cleared and the waiter looked the table a couple times when he walked by. Never stopped by to ask if we wanted a refill, or even a dessert. I was extremely disappointed in the service, in fact we are taking another look at the restaurants around here to see where we should spend our money. read more

I come here pretty often, it is extremely good. I came to Hop 'N' Drops on my birthday a couple weeks ago, and decided to try something different than my usual "California Turkey" or "BLT". I ordered the Jalapeño Cream Cheese Burger and was BLOWN away. I'm a very, very picky eater and this burger made it to the top of my list. Also, I HATE cake, but I got the chocolate cake for dessert and will now be going back whenever I have a sweet tooth. The service is always great, always sat quickly, and it's one of my boyfriends favorites to order drinks! Highly recommend. We've been to Hop Jacks a Handful of times. When I've gone with friends and sat in bar, the service has been usually good. But dining in, a while different story. This last time we went was THE worst. We walked in to a family of 4 in front of us. It was middle of the afternoon so it wasn't very busy. We literally stood for 10 minutes waiting for the hostess to show up. She finally did and seated this family, then we got seated about 15 minutes after initially walking in. We almost left but it was my sons birthday and he wanted to try Hop Jacks. We sit , Ikid you not for 15 minutes. I've have been a waitress and no matter how busy you are you at least acknowledge a table you receive . She finally shows up , no apologies and asks for drink order drinks take another close to 10 minutes but before they even come she asks to take our food order?!! We got our food in a timely manner and food was decent. My husband and i borne had drinks from bar and waitress was never around for us to order any more so huge loss for extra sales there. As an out of towner, I'm always interested in trying restaurants that feature local beer and this place was just what I was looking for. The beer selection is limited, which I like (easier to pick one!). While I got the River City Red, my friend got the D's Wicked Apple Cider. While I'm typically not a cider person, I have to recommend this. It's much more like a real cider than the super sugary ciders I've had before. I go to Jack's about twice a month for lunch. I like their menu because it has several "different" entries you don't find at other chain restaurants. I have tried many different items on their menu over several years and have yet to have a bad meal. Their the meat in their burgers are particularly good and I don't know why....(?) Jack's goes out of their way to provide good service. Most recently they have gone to a wireless menu scheme for the servers, this has slowed the service but the servers are still tops. read more

A little strange, the staff there... The food is good on some days and on other days it seems stale. I do however, love their drinks that they offer, both the soft and hard drinks, those don't disappoint ever! I mean things can't be perfect but you definitely don't ask me if I am sure of what I ordered or not--I could repeat the entire tables' orders with modifications and all and yet for an order as simple as boneless wings: I asked for buffalo and I received honey bbq. They are obviously different in taste, smell, and look, but the waitress tried to convince me I was wrong and that my wings were buffalo. I was not amused during that visit. read more

Food is great and service is quick and attentive! My favorite is the spicy chicken grilled cheese - mmm, nice combo of flavors. They do a great job upselling when you order, so be mindful of a growing bill. Good variety of drinks and flavors for the whole family, and a big menu. Only 2 stars because the food is always delicious, otherwise it'd be 0 if I could. I've never been to a Hop Jack's that doesn't make you feel welcome or cared for, until I came to this location. The waitresses stood behind the bar chatting away. Someone else brought us our food, which would've been fine had our waitress checked up on us shortly after. But about 3/4 into being done, she finally came over to ask how everything was. Then we waited 10 more minutes until finally my husband had to flag down our waitress for a box and the bill. We had extremely poor, slow service the last time we were in too. They should have some of the staff from Klahanie train the Queensgate staff! read more
