The ambiance was very nice, and the staff was pleasant and welcoming. The salmon was excellent--cooked perfectly, moist, and flavorful--and was easily the best dish we had. The shrimp wrap, however, was disappointing. It had very little shrimp and seemed to rely heavily on overcooked bacon and an abundance of lettuce, which made it tough to chew and left it lacking balance. My husband and I finally tried Paloma one Saturday evening while shopping in Mooresville. They have an extensive online cocktail menu, and I appreciated that they had photos for each cocktail to help you choose. We tried the Love Potion ($14) and Golden Apricot ($14), and both were outstanding. We tried two appetizers - Burrata & Pears ($15) and Smoked salmon deviled eggs ($12). Both were really good, but the deviled eggs were truly exceptional. I loved that they added herbed cream cheese and smoked salmon to elevate their deviled eggs. For our entrees, we tried the Ahi tuna tataki ($16) and Hanger steak ($29). The tuna was thinly sliced, and served in a sauce mixed with horseradish. I wasn't a fan of the sweetish sauce, but the horseradish was a great addition. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly, but the sauce that they added on top of BOTH the steak and fries was a bit on the salty side. Regardless, my husband enjoyed this dish. Service was excellent. We didn't wait long for our dishes, and I appreciated that we could pay tableside via the Toast handheld device. Paloma is an excellent addition to Mooresville, and we can't wait to return! read more

Perfect for fancy drinks and date night. We've gone three times. Once just for drink and twice for drinks and some food. The shishito peppers were good, I'd pass on the pork belly we tried twice and they were only ok. They could have better gluten free options or accommodations. read more

Such a cool addition to Mooresville! I really appreciate the elevated vibe this place brings to the area -- especially the live music! I found the menu to be super unique and definitely appreciated the spin they put on some of the dishes (for example, I've never see roasted tomatoes on a burger nor purple eggs lol). I found the food to taste just decent honestly. I didn't love the cauliflower appetizer; I found it to be pretty bland and the cauliflower seemed undercooked. However, this place is still a great place to grab a drinks and/or food with a very cute vibe! read more

This place was very well decorated, low lighting (if you like to see your food, I would go a little earlier) the service was superb. We felt very well attended. There were a lot of food options, we couldn't decide. But the best dish was definitely the salmon. Rich in flavor and very well plated. Would definitely come back and try again. Last night, a group of us went to this restaurant for a Christmas dinner and we were not disappointed! We had awesome, specialty drinks, yummy appetizers, and delicious dinners! The crab fritters were a standout, especially dipped in that roasted pecan-honey mustard remoulade. The Paloma fries? A must-order, if only to taste all three of their house-made dipping sauces. The Bocadillo Serranito sandwich is loaded with Serrano ham, Spanish chorizo, and creamy burrata on a crusty baguette...so good, I'd 100% order again. Oh, and the cocktail list? Spot on. New restaurant let's start with the decor it's nice and clean. The food is very good we had the bao buns and calamari both very good. Everyone's meal was great. Service was good and timely. Now let's talk the issues they advertise there a cocktails bar the dirty gin martini tasted like olive juice I asked for an extra shot of gin and it made it better. I then ordered a gin and tonic and same thing tasted only tonic I ordered another shot and the drink was fine....ordering the shots helped me understand the issue in NC most bars use 1.5 ounces of liquor be lucky that in both shots that it was even close to an ounce. The prices are competitive so use the right amount of alcohol to make it right. read more

We enjoyed a delicious Mother's Day brunch at Paloma last month. The service was fast and our food was great! Recently, the Mr and I made a dinner resy and had another yummy meal. The shishitos and Brussels sprouts app is excellent. I opted for the firecracker shrimp wrap, while my husband got the shrimp and grits. Both meals were perfect. Really, the shrimp and grits were 10/10! The grilled baby carrots would have been better with a little more salt. read more

We had an excellent Mother's Day brunch at Paloma yesterday. We'd been eager to test it out, and the combination of the holiday and the debut of their brunch menu was a great opportunity to do so. We came away very impressed and will certainly be back. We only had one cocktail - a vanilla espresso martini - which was flavorful and strong. The chicken & waffles was incredible, as was the French toast. The pancakes were JUST very good. In tapas form, the plates were small so the total bill ended up reasonable as well. The service was very solid, and the manager made it a point to check on how everyone's meal was - which we appreciated. The interior was also decorated very well: an art deco aura complemented by live greens. read more

Third time dining at Paloma. It's a charming little spot with an interesting menu. I like the decor and the overall vibe of the place. They weren't too busy tonight, so I found it distracting that quite a few staff members were standing around on their phones and talking by the kitchen, unprofessional without a doubt.. In my years working at high end restaurants, even if you're not busy, you stay looking busy. That's protocol. My other frustrations tonight were that it took forever to get a simple glass of wine, again, not busy, bar was empty, in addition, I was craving steak and excited to see that they had steak on the menu. Unfortunately, when I requested medium rare, it came out way too rare. So I nicely requested that they refire my steak. Within five minutes, my server was back having not replated my meal, fries cold, arugula now soggy...she handed me basically the same exact plate. (Again, I've worked in high end restaurants, I know how this is supposed to go)...I'm assuming they stuck it in the oven for three minutes, but that had zero impact on how well the $29 steak was cooked. I guess I'm writing this to say that as much as I appreciate many elements of Paloma as a restaurant, it didn't feel that the staff at Paloma were invested in our overall experience there tonight. I didn't request my meal be comped, I didn't complain, I tipped our server well. Maybe it was just an off night but I want to go back and have my expectations met...I do believe they can do better. read more

We tried Paloma tonight for the first time and it was excellent! Beautiful interior with plants and well executed lighting. Gorgeous bar, curved to match the exterior windows. Open kitchen concept with cute furniture. Cocktails were wonderful, we tried the coconut guava Paloma and the Boat driver. For food we had the saffron meatballs with potatoes and beans, pork belly bao buns, and calamari. They were all excellent. Live the spicy honey on the calamari and the execution of the bao bun was great. Saffron meatball sauce was so good. Can't wait to try more things! read more

Beautiful, lively, contemporary, fun. The menu is varied and interesting. The bao buns, chicken sandwich, and bocadillo serranito are superb. The cocktails are well mixed and delicious. The main downside is the incredible din in the place. All hard surfaces make for very loud atmosphere (you will not be able to hear your tablemates unless they raise their voices). Some acoustic tiles on the upper walls would probably help. read more

Finally the tapas place we've been looking for in lake Norman. The minute you walk in the ambience is reminisent somewhere in Miami. Every dish was flavorable and had a unique spin on traditional tapas items . (Highly recommend the calamari hot honey). Service was exceptional... definitely coming back!!!! read more

This place cooks all of their food in canola oil for the price of the food you would think that they would actually know how to make real food and use things like butter or olive oil they charge you for sauces like it's some super fancy high in restaurant.
