Quarterly, we made sure to spruce up the flowers and clean up the stone a bit. Additionally, my dad would periodically take me to visit his brother's grave, though with the nature of his passing, it was always a harder visit. Sadly, as the years have passed, more of my family reside here. My Nanny passed very suddenly. Cancer diagnosis on a Wednesday and passed on a Friday. In 2006, the family found themselves quickly making accommodations that were unexpected. My grandpa said it was a pretty easy process, and he appreciated being able to future purchase to be buried with her. This made it incredibly easy when he would pass 8 years later as my aunt would take care of those accommodations without the financial burden. As for pricing, we all know it is not cheap to do so though I've heard it's fairly comparable to the surrounding area. The grounds have been well kept the last thirty years that I've frequented here, and my family has continued to chose this location as their final resting place. Thank you Mountain View for all you do to honor our loved ones!

There's only so much that you can really say about a cemetery/funeral home, right?…read more Well..... The grounds are well kept, there is plenty of parking, and most of the staff is very compassionate and friendly. I will mention that one receptionist in particular was very rude to my mother when we arrived. My Mom began to make her way toward the service we were attending and the woman at the front desk was very snippy with my Mom and told her not to go near the room where the service was being held. She said "It's not ready yet, the family is still setting up!!" My mom asked if she could just sit on the chairs outside the chapel and wait for them to finish setting up, the lady said "NO" with lots of attitude and frustration. I was completely beside myself on that type of behavior! So we sat in the front lobby on the chairs provided. There are 4 chairs in the main lobby, which suited our needs. Just when I thought I had already seen it all, the same woman gets up from her desk and storms over to the chapel area where the service would be held.... Muttering under her breath, walking briskly, and pulls the doors closed... Then continues back to her desk to sit down. I'm not sure if this is her normal behavior, but it could be argued that her personality type doesn't exactly jive with the typical crowd that attend a funeral home.... They also offer water bottles to guests & have a snack machine in the lobby. There are several rooms available for funeral services, which are spacious and comfortable. I will say that I was surprised to see that the pews are not bolted into the floor... I used the back of the pew to help myself up after a service & it disturbed the bench in front of me... That was embarrassing. All in all, the place is exactly what you'd expect. Aside from the rude woman that greets you as you enter the building. We have many relatives that are buried here & others that have been cremated. Aside from Fridays experience, I have never had a complaint about my encounters here.

Always check on at least 2 funeral homes , but don't use Melcher's as one of them . Any place that is corporate owned is going to cost more and this place is . So always go to a family owned and operated location like Wyman's Cremations and Burial Chapel . Here is our short story of why you do NOT do business with Melchers . First off they will charge you over $600 to transport your love ones body to theirs funeral home no matter how close you are to the funeral home. And the reason I was told by their funeral director is because there available 24 hours a day .( stupid remark) most funeral owned places charge around $100 or less . Also if your love one has a preplanned wishes that they paid in advance , they may not honor it. My wife's friend passed away on May 10th and is the executor on a nonreversible trust of her friends estate. There are no children or close family members . Her friend set up everything for her funeral many years earlier at Melcher's so you would think there would be no problems well according to the ( funeral director) for Melcher's that wasn't good enough so they refused to honor the deceased wishes .and they would not honor the the trust even though it states my wife had complete executor power of her complete estate and her wishes . So we moved her to Wyman's funeral home in Mesa on Country Club they had no problem with the trust and her funeral wishes. Wyman's is family owned and operated and they will disclose everything and give you all the information you need In order to make the right decision . Check with Arizona State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers # (602)542-3095 and ask for the booklet called Consumer Guide to Arizona Funerals Information . Also please don't deal with a place that charges twice as much as others funeral homes . You are at a very emotional state so you are not in a good frame of mind Take your love ones to a family owned an operated funeral home . Like Wyman's . that is looking after your love ones best wishes and yours . A place that's well kept and will disclose everything before hand .

While we already had a mortuary in mind, we had no idea which cemetery to use. I set up a bunch of meetings and planned visits within the days right after my mother had passed, and I was quite disappointed with most of those we visited. I experienced poor customer service, a cemetery that didn't see very well kept, an inconvenient place to visit or some other issue. When I came across Paradise Memorial Gardens, I was extremely pleased with how well they communicated, their excellent customer service, and the layout and ease of visiting the cemetery. I had reached out to Dan and quickly heard back from him. I had told him what exactly we were looking for in terms of a location, stone, and service, and he certainly rose to the occasion to ensure that we had the date and time of the funeral and later an unveiling. He explained the prices and answered many questions that my family members and I had asked. Dan was responsive whether we were connecting right before the funeral or in the months that followed when planning an unveiling. For such a stressful time, I was pleased to have someone we made a connection with to reach out to. The actual Paradise Memorial Gardens cemetery is laid out nicely. Instead of other cemeteries where stones are all sticking up out of the ground, many of the stones are flat on the ground where they blend in with the nature. My mother's stone is near a big tree, which provides some shade when I visit her in hotter months. There is a small lake where swans and Canadian geese like to roam. For an interesting story, ask the staff about the swans. There is also a heated and air-conditioned mausoleum onsite which I had been in only once when a friend passed away a number of years ago. There is plenty of parking on the side of the single street that circles the site. There are two entrances, one off of Shea Blvd and the other off 92nd Street. While I didn't use them, I heard good things about the Messinger Mortuaries, which is directly tied to the Paradise Memorial Gardens. I certainly encourage anyone looking for a cemetery (and possibly a mortuary) to check them out.
