Right now it is open on Friday and Saturday evenings. If you plan to dine later in the evening be sure to call for a reservation. It gets busy during the summer tourist season. Last night I ordered the carbonara with the wedge salad. Nice presentation to both. Big portion which could be shared. Carbonara sauce is rich and loaded with bacon pancetta peppers peas etc. Just one note to ask your server about the egg served on top. I didn't want that option. My husband had the 6 oz filet. Always excellent with mashed garlic potatoes and veggies. New wine menu too! We usually save room for dessert but not last night. Their cheesecake or bread pudding are our favorites. Next time! If you are in Deadwood this summer make sure to reserve one night for a relaxing meal at this restaurant! Very nice staff ensure your dining experience here is a pleasant one!

The Deadwood Grille is usually only open for the weekend, but because of the Valentine's holiday they were open. We were expecting the place to be packed, but because of the blowing snowstorm all day, most of the reservations had been cancelled. Our waitress was very attentive as we made some changes to our entrees. The cold food came out cold and the hot food hot! Everything tasted delicious and I had leftovers for lunch the next day. They had lots of roses and red candles decorating the place for Valentine's, we had a great dinner!

We had previously stayed here and knew the pizza was pretty darn good. And just what we needed after a day of travel. Our bartender was great! Friendly and attentive!- our pizza was decent- needed to be cooked a little longer - but overall it was still good. We decided to have breakfast here before heading out! It was amazing! For the price the portions were huge. I had the Eggs Benedict- perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise was spot on! My husband had a 3 meat scramble which he loved and couldn't finish. Overall- we would definitely be back.

It used to be one of our very favorite places. We ate here 2 or 3 times this trip, but I can't say I loved any of them. I can say that I wasn't hungry when I left. One time, my partner, and I both got the salmon dish, another time I got a vegetable stirfry while he also got the salmon. On the positive, I can say mine was a huge portion, that was packed with vegetables, especially water chestnuts, which I just love! They did away with the onion ring tower with their delicious dipping sauce. We got a plate of onion rings instead, which had 4 massive rings, which was good, but was not the same. The salmon was a little overcooked. I don't know, just not the same quality they seem to used to have. I also didn't care for the sauce on top and prefer just a well seasoned grilled salmon that's not overcooked. There was nothing that stood out here this trip as far as eateries, other than the breakfast we had at First Gold.

Thankfully, that won't be necessary. The cobbler is back. More importantly, the people are what make Jacob's one of the best spots in Deadwood. Misty, Dan, Lei'ani, Daniel, and Trinity have created the kind of atmosphere every local wants--friendly, welcoming, and consistent every single time. The Mom's Margarita is legendary. It starts as a refreshing beverage and ends as a personality test. I was thrilled to hear directly from one of the bakers that the Chocolate Chip Cookie Cobbler is back on the rotation. This was the closure many of us needed. Scott, congratulations. You've got an incredible team and an establishment that truly feels like home for locals. Five stars from me. The food is excellent, the drinks are excellent, the people are excellent, and the cookie cobbler has returned from exile. All is right in Deadwood once again.
