Fabulous beachside retreat. Came by boat, they'll send a tender out for you. Freshly caught fish paired with pasta in a light tomato sauce (pomodoro-like). Nice wine selection with reasonable prices.

Nice and quite with a spectacular view. The food was fresh and delicious. Came out at a timely manner! Staff was super friendly and accommodating. A perfect location for lunch. You can also grab a water taxi here to Amalfi!!

What a fun beachside restaurant! My family chartered a boat on a recent visit to Marina de Cantone and the captain suggested we stop in at La Tonarella. What a great experience. We all split an assortment of fresh seafood appetizers. Everyone got a pasta dish. And all split their house wine. Everyone finished with a clean plate and the owner even brought us out a crab on the house. The story of the restaurant is super. From the family owning and operating to the former First Lady stopping in. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting.

Halfway between Amalfi and Positano lies this seaside restaurant, tucked into the breathtaking cove of Conca dei Marini. Unbeknownst to me this restaurant has been dishing out fresh seafood and pasta for YEARS! In fact, until 1956 Conca dei Marini was the site of the only tuna fishery on the Amalfi Coast... Aka La Tonnara. In a the late 60s Umberto Lauritano, better known as "'O Bacchiss", had the idea to convert one of the "molazzeni" (the tonnara storage shock) into the wonderful restaurant shack that it is today: "LaTonnarella" Side Note: Jackie O was no stranger to this part of Italy and often took to this little hideaway cove to dine with Gianni Agnelli, her favourite dish is on the menu, a pasta with pan-fried zucchini, pancetta and parmigiano. Our server even brought us a plate of this famous dish gratis! Expect a low key vibe, diners in bikinis, dogs resting under shaded tables, the sounds of the sea rolling over the tiny rocky beach and wonderful seafood.

Well, it wasn't worth building a trip around it, but we did really love Amalfi Coast so in the end it worked out. As for this restaurant, I wouldn't go for dinner. Food just isn't very good. If ur in the area already (not spending crazy $ to take a water taxi or drive a distance), stop by for a cocktail. Having a drink here is worth it if you're nearby so would definitely recommend that. The bar is the only portion that's part of the cave and truly, many places along Praiano and neighboring areas r built into the cliff so it's not all that special. Unless you're arriving via water taxi, the walk to this place is a lot so wear shoes that u love to hike in-lol. We paid an additional 15Euro/pp to have VIP seating right along the water. Not worth it. U could easily sit on the patio and have equal views and experience. One of the nice things about Europe is often that they don't rush u as much as US restaurants. Not here. They were ready to grab r order immediately and when we asked to start with a drink and appetizer then order in a bit, they told us they had to put in r complete order at 1 time. Seems odd since they were able to add drinks as needed, but whatevs. The linguini with anchovy (it was more of an essence) was amazing! Would totally recommend it and we don't even like anchovies. However, everything else was meh to bad. The lamb ribs were a pile of fat and not good. The filet was really overcooked so rough to eat. The tagliatelle with ragu had almost no meat in it. Probably spent $100usd pp without alcohol and would definitely not recommend for dinner. *Tip - if you're walking back up that huge hill after drinks/dinner, stop off at the hotel just above Il Pirate and have a cocktail or dessert there. They have an elevator that will take u up to the top street that u can use if you're either a guest or dining there. I promise u it's worth the $ for the ride.

Basically like a mini fried calzone and they were unreal. Definitely a must order. The gnocchi was incredible. Service was just as great. The hostess and our waiter were so kind, engaging, and gave excellent recommendations, including wine pairings. The restaurant itself has a cozy, authentic feel, like you're sitting in someone's Italian kitchen. If you can, try to sit outside. The views of the cliffs of Positano are absolutely stunning. Definitely make a reservation in advance. It's a popular spot and can be hard to get a table otherwise.

I had made reservations conveniently online and I had no clue how to get to the restaurant. Uber/taxi is not convenient out here on the Coast. We were actually the first ones at the restaurant to arrive. We were met with such genuine and warm welcomes. They started us off outside on the terrace with a beautiful view, drinks and a complimentary tasting plate. We then moved inside to a table with the best view. Everything we had ordered was absolutely divine. We were too full for dessert, but they still provided us with a complimentary sorbet and a limoncello shot. We were a bit worried about getting back to the hotel as it was dark and we were a bit tipsy, but they were so kind and drove us back to our hotel. The restaurant is family owned, Raffaele is the owner and his son Salvatore helps out both on the beach and with the boat service. The specialty here is obviously seafood, seafood pasta was bomb as well as the grilled calamari. At the bar they sell Algida ice creams as well as sun block and towels (5 euro or 10 euro depending on the size and quality). If you want you can hang out by the beach for the price of only 10 euro for 2 tanning bed and a ombrella!! Pretty good deal considering you are in one of the most expensive areas in Italy! Whenever you want to go back to Amalfi Salvatore will take you via boat - the boat service is included in the restaurant price (2 people having appetizer pasta and grilled calamari was not even 50 euro!!!) amazing!!
