EDIT TO ADD RESPONSE: the Hot 2 Cold tech diagnosed that our compressor needed replacing at a cost of $2890. And he recommended we replace the unit instead. Since the compressor is still working (4/1/2022) I'm going to say that was not an accurate diagnosis of the issue. It was our usual AC company who later diagnosed (Hector, good thing our usual company did their own diagnostics and didn't go by yours.) and repaired the unit at significantly less cost. We ended up paying Hot 2 Cold a high weekend service fee of $205 to get a misdiagnosed compressor estimate, unit replacement quotes, and zero repair assistance. Definitely not worth the cost. And Hector, since I didn't talk to you when I called, you don't bother to honor the (gentleman who said he is the manager's) promise of a refund? **************************** Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience with Hot 2 Cold. We needed help with an AC not cooling on a weekend and our usual AC company does not work weekends. (I believed all the good reviews and decided to give Hot 2 Cold a try.) The tech showed up on time (Sat Oct 23, 2021) and was pleasant and professional when he presented us with a huge estimate to replace the entire unit. This sounded a bit excessive to us and we held off approving the work. I don't know if this is their standard practice or if the tech was not qualified to diagnosis the issue and make the repair. We had our usual company come out on Monday. Our unit did not need replacing and was fixed within a few days. I called Hot 2 Cold, talked to a manager and explained we were unhappy with the service and wanted a refund of the fee for the weekend service call - which amounted to nothing more than an estimate for a new unit. They promised to have someone call us and issue the refund. That never happened. Unless you are planning to replace your AC unit, save your money and choose a different company. read more

This review is way overdue. In 2018, I used Hot2Cold for an A/C issue at my last home. James T. came out and looked at everything. Offered me four options ranging from very inexpensive and temporary up to the Taj Mahal of replacement A/Cs. I went with a replacement and the whole process was easy, honest, and fair. My monthly electric bill went down. My hot room was no longer hot. So, I kept James' business card. So now I bought a new house and moved in 3 weeks ago. I discovered the A/C was running but no cold air. Called a local outfit and was quoted $2300 to fix or $5600/$8950 to replace. My replacement a/c unit at the old place cost less than the $8950 for the same level of unit, so I called James at Hot2Cold for a second opinion and a quote. He came out and looked at everything. He determined the A/C needed a fix, and for a lot less than $2300 my A/C is up and running. James is the nicest guy and is VERY knowledgable about A/C. He is not typically a repair guy, but he really came through for me today. And yes, when it is time to replace my A/C I will be going to Hot2Cold. I called at about 3:40pm and she said she'll have someone here between 4-6. It felt too good to be true! I then received a phone call from Hector stating his approximate ETA. Great Experience! Wayne was quick to come out to assess our air conditioner issues. He got the a/c back up and working, even coming back out after it continued to not work effectively. After 2 days of waiting for service it was determined we'd need a whole new system instead of spending a few grand fixing a 14yr old unit. I needed another tech visit to help with the overflow of my airco. Calling upon another company made it clear to me that the previous technician (from Hot 2 Cold) that came over last year had been negligent in his work - the overflow pipe was actually mounted so that the water would run over the drip pan instead of in it, with a massive flood of my garage ceiling, and on the outside, the drain system wasn't working well either, prompting to a complete change. I stand with my other comments from last time, but I have learned now that there is a difference between just fixing a problem, and making sure that such problems won't happen in the future. read more

Yesterday I had the pleasure of coming home to an extremely hot house. The fan on the outside unit stopped working. No Bueno. Thankfully I found these guys at Hot 2 Cold! I bought a new home so my Carrier HVAC system is only 8 months old. I called Hot 2 Cold for preventative maintenance even though the system was running fine. They were prompt and came in to finish the maintenance on May 12, 2022. A few weeks later on June 2nd, my system went out and there was ice building on top of the filter and the system wasn't working anymore. I called them to help repair it so they came on June 3rd, 2022 to get it working again. On June 6th the system stopped and iced up again. Another technician came on June 7th to look at it. I kept asking if he could just clean it and remove all of the chemicals they sprayed on it on May 12th but he kept saying it wasn't the issue and at the end, the most he would do was just spray water on the coils. He told me most likely it would ice up again and just call them again if it breaks again. I have not had any problems before they did the first maintenance and now they keep sending people to stop by and my less than 1 year old HVAC system randomly stops working. This is extremely disappointing since I have had to sleep in 80+ degree temperatures at night with two little kids in the house. They keep sending people and trying to blame something else on the issue and not taking responsibility for it. read more
