I bought a new home so my Carrier HVAC system is only 8 months old. I called Hot 2 Cold for preventative maintenance even though the system was running fine. They were prompt and came in to finish the maintenance on May 12, 2022. A few weeks later on June 2nd, my system went out and there was ice building on top of the filter and the system wasn't working anymore. I called them to help repair it so they came on June 3rd, 2022 to get it working again. On June 6th the system stopped and iced up again. Another technician came on June 7th to look at it. I kept asking if he could just clean it and remove all of the chemicals they sprayed on it on May 12th but he kept saying it wasn't the issue and at the end, the most he would do was just spray water on the coils. He told me most likely it would ice up again and just call them again if it breaks again. I have not had any problems before they did the first maintenance and now they keep sending people to stop by and my less than 1 year old HVAC system randomly stops working. This is extremely disappointing since I have had to sleep in 80+ degree temperatures at night with two little kids in the house. They keep sending people and trying to blame something else on the issue and not taking responsibility for it. read more

Found Hot 2 Cold through my only trusted resource YELP . I own a home in FL but live out of state. Received a call from my tenant that the AC wasn't blowing out cold so had to spring into action. I recently lost my old AC company who was out of Lutz so urgently needed someone for a next day service. I'm extremely happy that Hot 2 Cold was able to make a current day appointment and scheduled directly with my tenant. I was expecting them to show up the next day so I was pleasantly surprised. I was also impressed that once my unit was diagnosed I was called with several fixes. My service technician gave me his suggestions from the least to the extreme. I had Hot 2 Cold replace my AC system in June of this year, and while the installation went smoothly, there have been a lot of headaches since then. I asked the technician as he was wrapping up the installation if there was anything I should know about this new digital system since it wasn't the same as what I previously had, he said no and quickly left. I had to contact them several times thereafter to have another technician come back out and show me how to use the system since it wasn't at all as straightforward as they seemed to think. In the last month, I've called to schedule two different appointments for a tech to come out regarding issues, specified date and time to the associate I made the appointment with, and both times I've gotten no calls to confirm the appointment, and a technician has been sent out on the entirely wrong day. When I've called to verify that they still intend to keep the original appointment I had made, I have been made to feel like trying to accommodate me is a chore. I'd like to update this at some point with a more positive review, but their customer service seems to be horribly lacking at this point. read more

Our AC unit was not working and based on reviews we called Hot2Cold. They were very prompt in coming and putting Freon in our unit (though they told us it was an old unit) and charges us over $300 for the call. 3 weeks later the unit stopped working and when they came to look whatever they did actually made the unit blow up and we had to get a new unit. They gave us a quote for a heat pump (didn't discuss our wants) for $5,300. Given that amount of money We got 5 other quotes and Hot2Cold was by far the most expensive. We ended up going with another company that replaced it with the exact same unit Hot2Cold quoted us (except we went with a Simply Cool unit as the other company explained the difference and gave us an option) but heat pump cost was still $1800 less than Hot2Cold. In order to give Hot2Cold a chance to make a customer happy I wrote them and asked if some or all of the original $322 be refunded given what occurred. They wrote back and asked for the receipt for the replaced AC unit which I sent to them. Never heard from them. I wrote them again and have still not heard from them. I would steer clear from Hot2Cold based on my experience. read more

If zero stars could be awarded, this place would take the cake. They sent out a technician who put the WRONG SIZE MOTOR & FAN on our air conditioner. We were under warranty and they still charged us labor... $390 for a wrong part installed. When I inquired about the loud noise to the technician, he said it would be louder because of the larger motor. A few months went by and our friends commented on how loud it was and we called another air conditioning company. This is when we found out the wrong size motor was installed. When we reached out to Hot 2 Cold, "Bobbi Jo" said she would speak with the technician who installed the wrong motor. This is customer service? No thanks... we will take our business to an HVAC company that has competent HVAC technicians and are willing to right their wrongs... disgusted with this place. read more

This is an update to my previous 5 star review. We had the mother board go bad in our compressor that Hot 2 Cold had installed just after the labor warranty ran out (the parts warranty was still in effect). We called Wayne and he sent out a tech the same day, even tho they were swamped with business. They diagnosed the problem, made adjustments to the unit so we could cool the house until the parts arrived, got the part delivered in a day, and came back to our house at 11:30AM the next day, even tho they said they would be out between noon and 2pm - ya, they got to our house even earlier than promised! How often does that happen? The unit was fixed and they were in their rights to charge us a labor fee, but without us even requesting it, they waived the fee for labor. We paid nothing. This company is amazing and truly stands behind their work and their commitment to their customers. I highly recommend Hot 2 Cold. Just wondering why i never recieved my refund? You forsure never fixed my AC. 3 different guys came out to fix my AC none got the job done. 1st guy couldnt figure it out. Although he was cool. 2nd guy the owners father..again a super nice guy. Couldnt get the job done. 3rd guy the Engineer of the company.. He couldnt fix it. He came out a couple times. Finally told me it was gonna be $900 something to run new wires. Got a 2nd opinion REM. Which was fixed on the very first time. And he pretty much laughed at what i told him the so called Engineer (James) told me what needed done. He was like why run new wires? There are extra wires right here. Just find the problem wire and trace it . connect new power wire.. Oh by the way it was 75% cheaper then what James qouted me for.. Be careful and most def seek a 2nd opinion. read more
