Guess what if I can give zero stars I would cause this place is not worth my stars. My husband got a bagel with cream cheese on it and I said I'm gonna take a bite of that just to try it you know what do I bite into a big long thick woman's finger fingernail a human fingernail I addressed it to the owner and he was gonna get mad at us. Me and my husband saying none of us have long nails and showing us the employees hands well the lady that always checks you out she's like Spanish or whatever her nails was long when I asked for a refund. It was like a big deal like that that's just nasty. It's very unprofessional. There's bacteria all under your nails, and I was not pleased with how they treated me after and the whole bite of a fingernail that was in my mouth. I was so mad I didn't even get to take a picture, but wow. This place was always the best around for bagels and atmosphere. I came back to visit after 15 years and bring my own kids. Unfortunately the atmosphere was nowhere near what it was. The lady at the register was rude, never smiled at any customer that came in, was clearly aggravated because it was busy, and was dropping bags of food on the counter when she called out names, instead of handing it to the people. The food was ok. Bagel sandwiches were basic and hash browns were literally potato slices that were unseasoned and bland. I will not be returning and will not be telling others to go there anymore. Bagels here are excellent, and they have a variety of cream cheese. The only negative to the place is parking. It's located in a strip mall with a number of other stores, including two restaurants, a nail salon, and that makes parking extremely difficult, so if I see a lot is full, I usually will just move on to Euro Bagel's. If I see that there's an empty spot, I will pull in and get a bagel, plain, or one with butter and cream cheese. The bagels are fresh, very tasty and decent size. The only reason I'm giving it a four star rating is parking. Service is excellent, friendly, and efficient. read more

Legit Delicious. I'm from out of town and it looks like the locals line up for these bagels every morning. (Always a good sign) The bagel with lox is about $8, not including tomato, onion, and capers. (each an additional charge). we ordered: 2 everything bagels with cream cheese, lox, capers, & tomatoes 2 smal coffees 1 large order of home fries The total was about $28. That felt like a lot, but the bagel was perfect, the coffee was decent, and the home fries were super greasy, crispy, & yummy. They have good bagels but it ends there. I decided to give their breakfast sandwiches a try. What a HUGE disappointment and waste. I ordered 3 breakfast sandwiches at the whopping cost of $16. Plus I left a tip. I got home and these $5+ sandwiches contained one, ONE MEASLY tiny piece of meat. Literally one slice. I've ordered these same sandwiches all over and never in my life have I only gotten one piece of thin cut meat. I originally gave a glowing review. And I'll stand by that they have good bagels. But they seriously need to work on the breakfast sandwiches. Especially at what they charging. read more

You'll find a bunch of friendly and helpful locals smiling and getting you in and out really quick. The downfall is it is cash only. They won't even look at your credit card. On the other hand with an array of bagels available you don't have to come up with too much cash. The good news is all of your standard bagels are here. However, they don't have a lot of specialty bagels, like a pizza bagel for example, or anything out of the ordinary like most hole in the wall bagel shops like this have. I always get the two egg, bacon and cheddar on a toasted bagel roll and my husband loves the Taylor ham egg and cheese on a sundried tomato bagel with salt, pepper, and ketchup. I really want it to be good it's right near the house, so we've given them multiple opportunities to win our business. But the customer service is atrocious. I've been going here for years, but recently the quality has fallen off a cliff to the point where I will be trying other bagel places for a while! I usually go on Sunday mornings and get bagels for the week. I obviously don't expect them to be fresh all week, but when I first open the bag and they're already as hard as rocks, that's just a crappy bagel. I was debating between 2 and 3 stars for this review but went with 2 because your jaw shouldn't be sore after eating one, and if they can't do bagels right then they need to change their name! I'm probably one of the few people that never liked their breakfast sandwiches.. a single egg, a single piece of bacon and cheese on a large roll is not only a bad sandwich but also a terrible value. It's a shame to see a local institution fall off like this, but I'm not going to continue to go there just because of their past reputation. Why are there only two ratings for this place??? I swear, everyone in Eastburg and the surrounding area comes here for their bagels... and the employees must know at least 90% of the people who walk in by name! I've been eating bagels here since high school... which was ~10 years ago (ugh!) and they have always been the best around! The key is that they do their bagel-making and pastry baking in house, so every carb that you indulge in is as fresh as can be! They only take cash, which can be a bummer when you're having a craving but are only carrying plastic, but it's an old school, honest establishment, and I honestly would rather pay in cash so that I can make sure to tip the smiling kids behind the counter every morning! Hot Bagels also has great, early morning hours... so when I drove by this morning to open the place that I work at, I was able to grab my breakfast and lunch before going in! My favorite thing about their bagels (aside from the fresh crispy-ness) is that they have salt on their everything bagels. Everything means everything, but for some reason Hot Bagels seems to be the only place I've ever been that gets the fact that salt is included in the everything... they also make sure that the bagel is nice and toasty when they cream cheese it up. For me there are few things more annoying than getting a "toasted" (but strangely cool) bagel with a wad of cold cream cheese slapped inside. I actually threw one that I got from another establishment that was like that in the garbage the other morning... bleh. Anyway, it is obvious that everyone involved in this business takes pride in their work, and I hope that they are around for a long long time! read more

Let me start by saying this place used to be great under the previous owners: now I'm appalled. TERRIBLE customer service. Today' was the second I've been there since it's been under new management. The rudest staff I have ever seen! The first time I thought it was a fluke, but this time was just as bad. I was in line (first in line actually) with 6 people behind me. There were 3 people working behind the counter and for about 3-4 minutes no one even acknowledged we were there, despite a door chime that goes off when someone comes in. Two staff members made eye contact with me, yet never said hello, or good morning or anything... I had already called a head, and my order should have been ready, but I still waited about 10 minutes in total from entering the store to getting my food; even though as I stated before, I was first in line... anyway I get my food and go to enjoy my turkey, egg and bacon bagel... and I find TWO pathetically thin slices of turkey on my sandwich. I get the same thing at Vinny D's and they put about 1/4 pound of turkey on it. Stay away from hot bagels. If you're in the area and want a bagel I recommend Vinny D's. The Good is better, and the customer service is outstanding. It's clear that Hot Bagels does not value their customers. read more

This morning I grabbed an egg & cheese for probably the 800th time and like always, I loved it! If you're looking for an authentic egg and cheese sandwich, this is the place! Bagels are made fresh here as well. Service is great, good is NEVER a disappointment, & speedy. Hot bagels used to be our go to bagel shop. After the new owners took over, it has gone completely down hill. It is impossible to order on the phone to pick up, no one ever answers the phone. They are constantly out of bagels early in the morning, and don't have enough people working. Please consider selling the business to someone who knows how to run it properly.
