Went here for dinner with a couple of friends. Order the tiger cry beef and basil wings for appetizers. It was good but not the best. Order the tamarind chicken and the flavor was good but the veggies and chicken wasn't. Very dry even with the rice. Service was nice and friendly staff. Not a big restaurant but it was roomy enough for our party.

The service staff were friendly and polite. The food came out hot and fresh and tasty. Dinner rush wasn't too loud and still able to carry on a conversation. Would definitely recommend and return.

Mango With Thai Sweet Sticky Rice

Go only if you can handle spicy Thai food. I visited with work colleagues earlier this evening. We were the only customers, and they seated us at a ten person table. We all placed our orders - I got the pra ram chicken (mild - no extra spice added) and the sweet mango with sticky rice, just in case they ignored my explicit instructions. Sure enough, they did. I could not finish the chicken entrée as it was exceedingly spicy. Fortunately I had the mango with sticky rice to fall back on, which was decent. My colleagues all either ordered well or have a greater spice tolerance than I do. Ambience was good as was the service. Parking wasn't a problem either. Likely won't be back on my own accord.

The place was clean, the service was courteous. I usually go with Pad Thai when it comes with Thai restaurant, because it's so common. This time I decided to try Panang beef curry with medium spicy level, which claimed to be most popular curry, my son ordered Gapow. I think my choice was correct, the curry was creamy with delicious coconut milk and peanut panang sauce, it's perfect companion for the rice. Gapow had nice flavor of basil, but I like Panang curry better. There are plenty of parking spaces nearby.

My husband and I ate here as he's been to Thailand and wanted me to experience Thai food. For our appetizer, we ordered the steamed dumplings, which were very delicious. For our entrees, I ordered the chicken fried rice and he ordered the seafood pad Thai. When ordering dishes like these here, you have to select the level of spice you want: mild, medium, or hot. I chose mild for mine and he chose medium for his. Unfortunately, I think they got our spice choices mixed up because my entree was so spicy, I could only eat a bite so he gave me his entree, which was barely spicy, in exchange for mine. The pad Thai was very good! It had scallops, squid, and mussels and all were cooked to perfection. He said he liked my fried rice. Our waitress was very pleasant! She was always smiling and checking on us. Despite the spice mix up, we will be back!

I really enjoyed my basil fried rice! This dish really shines at this place. I tried my friend's pad thai, and I didn't like it as much. The fried rice was definitely better. The tofu on both of ours was a really good texture and flavor, it's hard to get it just right, and they totally did! The dishes that we got as mild were still very spicy. I would almost just get it with no spice next time. I would not order pad thai from here, but I think any of their fried rices would be good to try again! The thai iced tea was very sweet, as expected. A generous portion as well! Very nice service and a fine atmosphere.

Amazing food. Love the pad Thai with chicken. They have a special pad Thai with egg noodles which is also great. One of my go to places for takeout when I'm in the area

Mediocre. Portion, quality, and cost were not very satisfactory. The red curry and service were the only things I was pretty happy about. The Pad Khee Mao (Drunken Noodles) were pretty bland, and the portion was small compared to the cost. The Red Curry was better than I thought compared to my opinion with Pad Khee Mao. It's more milky than the other red curries I've tried. Definitely recommend this item at Hot Basil.

Good and various levels of spicy according to what you want. Lots of choices of good food. Staff are very nice and attentive. Great place to eat for families and friends. Nice atmosphere and plenty of seating and space.

This restaurant offers a special lunch on Sundays at a reasonable price. I love the fried rice--it's absolutely delicious and full of flavor!

We tried this spot out on a Tuesday night. There was no wait and there was plenty of seating. The egg rolls were good as was the pad Thai. The pad Thai had a lot of flavors. Overall it was a good experience but pricey for what you get. Service was quick and efficient as well.

My husband and I came at 8pm on a Tuesday. The restaurant doesn't have a great overall feel. However, the food is excellent. We were greeted promptly upon arriving. However, they seemed to be confused where to seat us despite being mostly empty. The flooring was pretty sparse, which is normally fine but looked very uneven and I saw spots that looked suspiciously like mold (I didn't want to get close enough to confirm). I got the Siam Chicken and he got the Gapow. Both were very, very good. The Siam Chicken is basically chicken breast with sautéed shiitake mushrooms in a ginger and garlic sauce. The ginger was so good: it wasn't just shaved ginger. It was 2" long strings of fresh ginger that were soft and delicious. You don't get a ton of food for the money. However, the quality more than makes up for it.

Pad Thai - two thumbs up. Wonderful wait staff. You can get your Pad Thai with a choice of protein and choice of heat.

We were looking to try a new restaurant for our Saturday outing and decided on Bamboo Penny's. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that a lot of effort went into making the dining room and bar area fun, attractive, and inviting. Although we were being seated at a two-top, we noticed the bar was wide open and decided to dine there instead. Great choice. The bartenders were engaging, attentive, and very helpful in walking us through the menu. We started with Penny's Combo Fresh Spring Rolls, Thai Spicy Sausage, Penny's Rangoon, and Crispy Egg Rolls. This was a great way to sample several appetizers, and everything was delicious. My partner ordered the Salmon Panang Curry and really enjoyed it. The salmon was cooked just right, the curry had great flavor, and the broccoli paired nicely with the dish. I went with the Tiger Cry Steak, which was a little more hit-and-miss. The Tiger Cry sauce brought plenty of heat along with some really interesting flavors. The glazed carrots were excellent, perfectly glazed with just the right tenderness. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes were over-whipped, giving them a gummy texture. The biggest disappointment was the steak itself. The quality wasn't what I expected, the steak appeared to be a few ounces short of the advertised 12 ounces, and on its own it lacked seasoning and flavor. The intramuscular fat was also quite chewy, making portions of the steak difficult to cut and eat. That said, one disappointing entrée wouldn't keep me from returning. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, service, appetizers, and Salmon Panang Curry. Bamboo Penny's has plenty on the menu I'd like to come back and try....I'll probably just stick with the non-beef options next time. I think this lands around a 4-star review: clearly a good overall experience with one legitimate miss.

We will do a better job of remembering to get Thai food here; especially since it is so convenient to our home. We chose to dine in instead of take out to have that fresh from the oven taste and it didn't disappoint. We thought all the appetizers on the sampler were excellent and filled us up a bit, but that was ok as we hoped to have leftovers the next night for dinner - which we did! I got the Red Curry with chicken and unlike other places there was plenty of perfectly cooked chicken. My husband got the Gapow with beef and my sister-in-law got Gapow with chicken. My husband and I kept eating from each other's entrees as both were desired. The staff were welcoming and with the right timing for attention to our dining experience. If you like Thai Food, I hope you'll come here. They've been around for quite a while and that is a strong testament to their restaurant and food.
